We bought it to use as a second static camera in an instructional video. We then synced the footage with the primary camera in final cut pro. Worked great. Our primary is a Canon G20. The Mini's controls are similar to the G20, so it's easy to understand. I have since used the mini as a car dash-cam, shooting kids in the car and action car racing shots. It shoots in both AVCHD and Mp4. In Mp4 it can sense position, so with the feature active the cam can be upside down and the picture right side up. With a 64 gb sd card, it's good for almost six hours of 1080. Battery life is very good. Very portable. Hang around your neck or pants pocket.

Great camera for a pocket size camera. Easy to use great fish eye lense for its size. Minor fixtures could've been made, in opinion. Can't beat the weigh of it.

I wasn't sure if this would work well recoding indoor volleyball games but it did a pretty good job! I am very happy! Great option to just set it on the bleachers or use a tripod! Wide angle lens or close up works great depending on where you set it up.

I bought this mainly to use for the VidCon last weekend. It was great, I am editing it down to 1 hour. It was easy to use, and perfect for my purpose. Will use again and again!

    No Zoom???!

Best Buy had great service on this purchase-- we got our camera within days of ordering it online, so kudos to them. I can tell this is a good quality camera, but I will be returning this ASAP for the following reasons: 1) There is no zoom. You can use the crazy fish-eye wide angle, or the super close-up function. Nothing in between. I don't know of any video cameras, $400 or not, that don't allow you to zoom in and out. Even my phone does this. Crazy! 2) Canon makes you download the instruction manual and print out/read on your computer/phone/etc. It is 300+ pages. I get that they are trying to save trees, but come on. This is not a simple video camera. It is very similar to a digital SLR camera that has a lot of settings and functions, so if I'm gonna spend this kind of money, I expect an instruction manual I can hold. 3) It doesn't seem to be compatible with any software on my computer. Maybe we need to do updates, I don't know, but this is yet more money I need to spend in order to download the videos. 4) It isn't really pocket-size. Purse-size, yes, but you would have to have bigger than average pockets for this thing to fit inside. My husband and I were looking for something simple, small, and better quality than our phones that we could use to record our two young kids as they grow up. Originally, I had ordered a Flip Cam on Amazon, but when it arrived broken, I then found out the company is obsolete and has been for some time. But I'm thinking about going for a Flip Cam again, obsolete or not. This camera may work well for bloggers or action videographers, but I would not recommend it for families. Very disappointed!
