This camcorder is AMAZING! It has great zoom and quality. The optical stabilizer is like no other! But...I wish it had more manual settings. It automatically adjusts to just about anything, but I sometimes wish I could adjust more settings.

I saw this as an open box buy, watched the price for 4 or 5 months, it finally dropped below $1000, decided to buy, Takes really good video, the reason for purchase was the fact that the IR is in BW not Green, which I found out that this can do that as well. Clear crisp video even though it is not 4k. Easy to use. Overall, very happy with this camera

After searching through many camera's I finally can say I'm so glad I picked this one. Great Pro mini cam with XLR audio inputs, good zoom and quality is amazing. I have a Pro company and I picked up 2 of these units.

So far, the XA30 camera does fantastic video. However, the battery was not without problems. I had to tape it in place due to problems with the contacts. I brought the battery back to Best Buy, showed them the problem and was told I would have to box up the entire camera and return it, then wait almost 2-3 weeks for a replacement. Not acceptable. Even thought the camera is new, the battery is not. Best Buy does not carry replacements for this line. I had a video thingy to do and needed this camera. I bought a back up battery online from another source and it arrived in 4 days. Worked perfectly. I sent the bad battery back to Canon and they replaced it. That process was 12 days. Product follow up by Best Buy was terrible. I would not recommend that someone pay this much at Best Buy if they cant support the product.

This camera is the perfect size for action sports video. Great for running around a motocross track and capturing amazing video. The Cannon xa30 is light and compact but captures video like the big boys.

Nowadays people want to record video on DSLR... NOT ME! I love the fact that you can record as long as you have a battery and a flash card. This camcorder allows you to adjust many settings manually which is why it's a considered a professional camcorder well and because of the XLR connections. If you don't need the XLR connectiosn the Canon Vixia HF G40 is the same as this one w/o the XLR. You can do blurry backgrounds as well as time lapse. If you know how to use a camcorder manually, this is one of the best options..

For the price, this is a great all around camera to get you started in the video business. Works well for business related videos and interviews. Great for short films in Cinema mode and surprisingly works very well for weddings. One battery outlasted a friend's Mark III, with ease. Highly recommend as a stepping stone to get you places.

This camera is easy to use. It also takes great video in poor lighting conditions.

I have had this for about a year now and I find it a great product from Canon. Although I switched from a lower grade Canon, the transition was easy. The low light qualities are very acceptable for my use indoors and out and the coloring is exceptional. No white balance issues and I am easily ably to gauge my lighting with the on screen guides. I have used it for over 100 hrs of recording and no issues to date. Linked with or without my sound recording system, the canon audio is outstanding. I like the price for my private/Professional use and might use two for editing recordings in the future as opposed to another brand camera as my second shooter.

Looking for to really making some nice movies with this camera,I purchased it to really step my game up,we will see what happens on my next wedding

I love this camera! I use it in a live, low light setting and it works perfectly! I like that it has a slow and a fast zoom for different uses.

We replaced an older model, Canon XA-10, with this XA30, and it does a great job. The audio options on the shoe/handle are perfect. The image stabilization is also excellent.

Great camera since first day I get it. Picture quality so realistic. I use Auto mode only and planning to change it.

does many things that will help you with professional music videos or movie ie.documentrys or home movies for fun has a lot of on board special effects.

Overall the camera is amazing. The HD quality is ver evident. The WiFi is an added benefit, All of the camera feature are very clear except on to change the lens.

This camera is full featured, easy to use and very, very capable!
