I'm glad they ported this from the Wii U. If you overlooked this on Nintendo's previous console, this game is worth it. True Nintendo charm on display.

Having purchased and played through the original release on Wii U, I wasn't too optimistic of picking this up on Switch. I ended up finding it on sale and decided to rebuy. The game plays and looks great, this time at full 1080p (720p on Switch), and this time includes a few extra bonus stages themed for the Switch. I had a blast playing through it a second time, this time with an update patch that allows for multiplayer (something not available on Wii U).

Captain Toad for the Switch is a port of the Wii U game with added multiplayer and 4 brand new levels. While the game was designed around the Wii U GamePad, the Switch version adds different control methods to get around this. While I believe the game works best with the GamePad, the addition of the Mario Odyssey levels, which might be the best levels in the game, make up for this. While it might not be worth a purchase again if you already played it on Wii U, any person who hasn't played this game should pick it up.
