Casino Royale is in my opinion the best of the Daniel Craig Bond films, but all the films are great, so I wound up getting all 3 steelbooks. These are awesome, and I was able to ad all 3 to my Digital Library with the UltraViolet Codes too that were included. This is a great value and I love the artwork on these Exclusive Best Buy Steelbooks!! A great gift for any Bond fan! ~PopCulter
I hope they do something similar for SPECTRE when it comes out.

A Great Bond Film!

I was never much of a James Bond fan while growing up—the Connery movies were too dated, the Moore ones too high camp—but Daniel Craig's interpretation of the character in "Casino Royale" made me a fan of this Bond! Gritty, gutsy, and action-packed—the parkour chase sequence is amazing—"Casino Royale" is definitely my favorite Bond film!

Steelbook itself is more flimsy than others

This is NOT a review of the film itself but of this particular packaging of it.
The steelbook has a very attractive design, but the build is flimsy and was easily broken. Compared to my steelbook copies of The Raid and Inception, the metal on this one is more flexible and seems thinner. It also has a glossy finish rather than the matte finish of others.
Would I recommend it? As long as you're careful with it. This one broke in a box of gifts traveling to/from a holiday get together. Was it careless on my part? Probably partly, but it wasn't like things were tossed on top of it. I'd recommend you stop by a Best Buy store and feel the product before purchasing online.

This is a reference disc for anyone wanting to test out their home theater calibration. The Black and White sequences really bring out the contrast and a must-have for any one with a home theater.

This is the Bond flick that started Daniel Craig's run as James Bond. Love Daniel Craig as James Bond. He ranks just slightly behind Sean Connery as my favorite James Bond actor. The action sequences and the great in depth look into the Bond character are fantastic.

Daniel Craig is an outstanding 007. This movie has great action, sub-plots. Eva Green is superb. A deeper side of 007 that you rarely see.

For those who might get confused, this is the newer Casino Royale that kicked off the Daniel Craig era of James Bond films - not the 1967 film that is considered an "unofficial" Bond, having not been done by MGM/Pinewood.
This was considered a breath of fresh air for Bond fans, though with a serious return to the intrigue and grit present in some of the earlier films (1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service being a good example). The cinematography has been brought back to a very high standard; not that it ever left - It just took a break for a while ;)
The steelbook packaging is beautiful without drawing too much nonsense incorporated to really make it shine in neon on my shelf. Good art, the right amount of flair, and a solid implementation of the steelbook design. Not spectacular, and not worth a massive difference in price over a standard release, but fine if you can get a deal.
Overall, a recommended film, and fun packaging that fans can appreciate.

From 2006, and everyone was having a fit about Craig, as the new Bond. Well, he has redefined the series, and renewed it, and in the best way. The start of Bond's career, as he chases a banker/terror leader across Europe. Exciting and amazing action scenes, Craig terrific. Only weak link, Eva Green as the femme fatale, as she completely fails to bring much interest. When she wasn't on the screen, I was pleased. But Craig is a standout, the stunts great, the other actor awesome, Judi Dench brilliant as M. Although a winner, and a def recommend. What do I think is a CLASSIC of the Craig series. Check out "SKYFALL!!"

I had received a $5 surprise discount from Best Buy (which triggered me shipping there waaaaay more than I do regularly, but that's besides the point). I took that $5 in-store and started looking around for something decent to spend it on, and happened upon this. I mean, first of all, $9.99 is a decent deal to begin with, considering that you're getting the blu-ray AND the digital copy.
But that steelbook, oh my gosh! The thing. is. gorgeous! I only ended up spending 4.99 out of pocket, and would do it again. I love the Best Buy steelbooks. Seriously, if you were to look at my purchase history up to this point, you'd see that my recent purchases contain a few of them. Now I have think about picking up that Ant-Man steelbook.

A bit more grounded version of Bond

Most people reading this review are probably already familiar with Daniel Craig's iteration of James Bond. This adaptation of Ian Fleming's first Bond novel is very well done, and is effectively updated to the 21st century. While the prior Bond films were certainly entertaining in their own right, they tended to get increasingly preposterous and gimmicky. This movie somewhat resets the series, grounding it a little bit more in our real world, while not sacrificing the thrilling stunts and action one would expect.

Fantastic bond movie in 4k. I love bond and am a big fan of Daniel Craig’s take on bond so had to make sure I got this one. In my opinion, the two best bond films with Craig’s portrayal are casino royale and skyfall. It has plenty of action, romance and is a throwback to the bond franchise basics which I thought was great for them to cover as an origin type of film. I do enjoy quantum of solace and spectre as well but they are more forgettable in comparison to Casino royale and skyfall.

Casino Royale 4K overview

Casino Royale on 4K offers a decent improvement over the Blu-rayand definitely worthyou money. The color grading is a major improvement but that's to be expected on a 4K releasethat alreadyhad a good blu-ray. If you're looking for a total makeover you won't exactly find it, but those seeking a slightly better image should enjoy this on 4K. Also as a bonus there is a 3 hour R rated extended cut that is only available on 4K and that alone is worth the price of admission for collectors.
