Catherine is a game I meant to play when it was on the PS3, but this remake is outstanding. It's the story of Vincent and his relationship with a woman named Katherine, his longtime girlfriend, and Catherine, a woman he's cheating on her with. It's sexy, but it's really a mature story about a guy trying to decide on what's important to him.
One half of the gameplay consists of you sitting in the Stray Sheep Bar talking with friends, answering messages on your phone, and generally moving the story forward. The other half is Vincent's nightly nightmare climb up a wall. You can move the blocks around to create a path up the wall, and it's generally clever. The puzzles become more dangerous as you progress, and it's never boring.
The presentation is amazing. Even though it's a remake, the visuals are great, but this game's art is packed with style in every frame. It's probably the best of the year in the way it combines the music, visuals, and voices. It's really that good.
If you waited to play it, Catherine: Full Body is ready for you to lose yourself in it's colorful story and world.

If you missed the original launch and are curious about this title I strongly recommend you give it a shot! Really interesting and gripping story and outstanding puzzle sections that mixup the gameplay. Made by the same studio as Persona and its quirky adult themes come through. A truly unique and amazing title.
I'm not sure the new character of Rin adds a whole lot extra to an already great story. I'll be honest I preferred the pacing in the original but happy with any new content. Lots of different endings and challenges gives it alot of replay value.

I absolutely loved this game back on ps3, and this remaster is even better. The inclusion of a third romance option adds a lot to the story. The story was already great, but is even better now.
The puzzle gameplay is as addicting as ever with an even harder difficulty. Highly recommend this game.

Awesome, but Weird Puzzle Game

This is a rerelease and update of the game Catherine. It is a weird anime horror themed love story (kind of?) that plays out between some really interesting puzzle game play. As a weird horror themed anime love story, there may be some cringy scenes that you probably wouldn't want to watch in the living room (it does have an M rating after all)
The gist is that you slide blocks and try to climb to the top. Simple and addictive. The game is capable of giving me a bit of anxiety, though the addictive game play was more than enough to pull me back for another session. While the story is kind of weird, I did enjoy it and spend time replaying old saves to get all of the endings.

I honestly kicked myself for missing this game when it came out on the PS3 and am elated that they decided to rerelease it for the PS4. Given what I know of the original game, this is indeed the definitive edition, with the inclusion of new modes, and a whole new character to add to the narrative. I'm not that far in yet, but I'm having a blast with the puzzles and story thus far. Though I do love the steelbook for this edition I kind of wish they had a more robust collector’s edition like the original. That said, for those that missed out on the original game I can’t recommend this enough.

The new character's story is quirky and fun. But what was most exciting for me, was that they added so many new cut scenes and dialogue options. They dive much further into Vincent's past than they did in the original game, and I felt like I got to know the original characters a lot better this time around.
The new puzzles were just as fun and challenging as before, too, and the new game mode makes it easy to enjoy the story with little very stress, if that's what you're into.

Even though never played the original Catherine, I had a blast playing Catherine: Full Body. I'm really glad a got it! It may seem a little tricky at first, but you get the hang of it once you get used to it. Also, the story is super interesting, it makes you want to keep playing to find out what happens next. It is also worth noting that your actions in the game determine with who of these three lovely girls you get hook up. What could go wrong?

I didn't know when to expect when playing this game as I've never played the original version. The Full Body version adds a third love choice into the game to pick from. With a total of 9 different endings this has plenty of replay value. The puzzles can be challenging, but if you are person that loves puzzle games and anime style writing then this game is definitely for you.

I bought this game thinking it was going to be a basic romance simulator, but I was blown out with awe when I barely encountered the start menu. You can definitely tell from the music, aesthetic, and minuscule details that this game was given tons over love when being made. The animated cutscenes and puzzles are a huge plus aswell. I would recommend this game to anyone!

This is a sort of remake of the previous PS3 and 360 version. This game adds some more characters and a bit more story and elaborates a bit more on it, but the game at the heart is still the same as the old version. If you want to play that old game in glorious 1080p with expanded universe details this is worth it. Otherwise you may wish to just stick with the older version.

Catherine is a very unique game, blending Tetris-like platform puzzles with a relationship simulator that puts the main character, Vincent, in the crossfire of infidelity and commitment after a night of drinking. Made by the team behind the Persona series, there is some familiarity in the design and art style, as well as gameplay, like the reality simulator aspect that exists outside of deep gameplay moments. Gameplay is where this title really twists, as the player takes on a Sisyphean uphill battle of manipulative blocks - scaling upwards by push, pulling and tricking giant climbing blocks to create a path as the bottom continuously falls out from beneath you, line by line of blocks. Sound a bit confusing? Only when trying to explain, as the game does a great job teaching the mechanics in a manner that’s easy to grasp. What follows is addictive puzzling for survival and a wild story revolving around one drunken night and a night of fun with Catherine - all while your girlfriend Katherine increasingly craves more from your relationship - can you walk the thin line while climbing the uphill battle?

This game is a lot of fun. Challenging puzzles and a great story that the player is in control of. Multiple different endings depending on the choices you have your character make while playing. The puzzles can be tough sometimes and I enjoyed the challenge. Overall would recommend this game.

I will definitely try to keep this basic and spoiler free!
I have played the original Catherine on PS3 back in 2011 and absolutely LOVED it! Had no idea what I was getting myself into, but never would've thought "a love horror story and puzzle game" hybrid would make for hours of fun! I'm just over halfway through my Full Body run and I can say:
- Replayability should be decent as there are two ways to "play" the puzzles: Remix and Classic. It basically just changes the shapes of the blocks you pull (reminds me of Tetris pieces) but it did make things a tad more tricky
- It's been so long since I've played through this that I can't easily point out the "change and additions" they made to the story (with the exception of adding Rin, obviously)
- The graphics are about what you would've expected on the PS3 version
- I did notice several cut scenes that I didn't at all remember from before
- The puzzle sequences are solid, smooth, and challenging as ever
- Can't remember if there was a online multiplayer mode on PS3 or not, but there is now
- They added a bunch of endings to this version as well
- I'm just as hooked as I was 8 years ago playing this! I will definitely be going through once choosing all the "douchy" answers and again being the "nice guy" lol
The worst part of the game is having to talk to all the sheep in between puzzle "stages" - however, I'm only doing it on my first play-through to see if anything changed, and also I believe there was a trophy for doing so. I'm not sure - I don't look up any trophies on a first run lol
First timers should love this game - especially puzzle connoisseurs - and veterans should welcome the changes and addition. My favorite part is the Persona 5 soundtracks that show up in the jukebox at the bar!!
If you don't like puzzle games, I think there is an option to either skip the puzzles all together or an "easy" mode to blow through them and focus on the story. Don't hold me to that though! :)

Great puzzle game with a wild story. Original Catherine knocked it out of the park and this is a great addition to the original game. Upgraded visuals for the PS4 and new story elements with new paths to take make the playthru fresh even for those who played the original.

Only played the demo on Xbox 360 and even thought I did not quite get into the game then the talk about how good this game is got my curiosity and had to get it on PS4. Great puzzle game once you start getting into the story and such, but it may not be for everyone.

I never had the opportunity to play the original Catherine on ps3/Xbox 360, so when this edition was released on the PS4 with additional alternate endings and additional story lines I was immediately sold!
From what I have read the addition of the third character into Vincent’s life does not take away at all from the original story and actually adds some more depth. I am running through the game multiple times to see the different endings (I believe there are 13 in total), plus this game added a ton of new levels and multiplayer!
From start to finish I have been completely engrossed in the story and the characters. I feel like I am actually hanging out with these guys in the bar scenes and helping Vincent through his life problems has been so much fun.
I can’t recommend this game enough to people who have never experienced it or returning players from the last generation! 10/10
