Good game looks kind of retro but fun, Been Playing for hours lol, i recomended.

Great game! Reminds me of the original Metroid in some ways, searching for new weapons and abilities. Does a good job at directing you. My kids love the game. Two things: The controls feel wonky. I'm not sure if it's just year of muscle memory fighting me or what, but it feels like the jump and shoot buttons should be reversed. I have a really hard time playing because of this. Doesn't seem to bother my kids though. Secondly, the multiplayer component feels a little clunky, as if one of you die, you both die. Not having any chance of revival or continued play and killing off the other player is frustrating at times.

Cave Story is the earliest indie game I heard of, and this release on the Nintendo Switch is great! The game is fun and has some challenge. I love that the physical copy has a full color manual.

A unique Metroid-Vania style game with a great story and a good challenge set. The release has some bonus swag like an old school instruction booklet, and the game's soundtrack track on a mini-cd.

A great action adventure game. In the vien of old school 90s games.

My husband and I played this co-op together which is a lot of fun. Graphics are great on the Switch and controls work perfectly. Definitely worth the buy, especially if you have Gamers Club.

Cave Story has a large following from people praising it as a Metroidvania (platformer with access to new areas achieved through upgrades procured throughout adventure). It is a bit light on the Metroidvania aspect in my opinion, but it is a solid platformer nonetheless with a retro pixel sprite style. The retro style is getting a bit old, but in this game's defense, it was one of the earlier games to partake in the revival...it's been ported numerous times sense. Nothing too special about this port if you've played in on other systems, but definitely feels great on the Switch if you don't mind the price.

The majority of reviews for this lead the buyer to expect a fantastic and engaging game with a rich world and story to draw you in. Will recommend to all my friends with a Switch.

This is a re-release of the 2010 Wii/DSi game Cave Story, yet is three times the cost with little in the way of changes. It shares the name of the 2011 PC game Cave Story+ as well as the changes made in that version, but you can get it on Steam for $15 or less.

This version of Cave Story + is complete, and comes with multiple graphical versions, multiple versions of the soundtrack, and can be played on the TV or on the go!

Having played it originally on 3DS, this is a fantastic game and the Switch version is the definitive way to play the game. That said, the game is expensive for its age. Still a remarkable experience.

I had never played Cave Story before and after seeing reviews and player impressions, I thought I would give this game a purchase considering the price (24$ after GCU discount). I think it is definitely worth the price. The game is set in a fun little world with solid, albeit very basic, 8-bit gameplay. So far it seems you have access to various other levels from a hub world, which works very nice for the style of game it is. As for the price, I can't make any comparisons in terms of previous iterations of this game related to its price tag; I just know for me it was a great value.

Cave Story is a modern classic and this version certainly does justice to the game. The graphics look great on the Switch screen and I love the portability.

It's Cave Story that can be taken on the go easily. At the current price, it's great. Definitely more of a portable, smaller title, but still fun.

I haven't played Cave Story before but this port is well done, it looks great on the Switch and is just challenging enough to keep me interested.

I actually really enjoy this game so far i just felt really lost when i started in. It felt like the story was continuing after a bunch of events i didnt know about. Hopefully that gets explained but so far it's been intriguing and not as easy as i thought it would be!

I was surprised that this game didn't feel old and rehashed. The story is great as well as the art style and sound. Very enjoyable playing this through to the end.
