I quite liked it. Chappie was not what I expected and is a new favorite. It makes you think about what we teach children by the way we live our lives and explores some other heavy social themes, but it's not heavyhanded in tone. I think Ninja and Yolandi's characters had just the right touch of vulnerability that allowed you to emphasize with them and not write them and the film off before it really gets going. The film is made with a sense of humor that balances out the dystopian setting and serious themes. Chappie the robot is perfect and the rest of the cast is solid, especially Dev Patel. Check it out, it's good!

Been a fan of this film since seeing it in the theater a few years ago. Happy to say the 4K UHD is a decent upgrade over the HD blu-ray and looks amazing. The audio is also very robust and clear on my atmos setup. Highly recommended.

Not as good as District 9, but better than Elysium

Another gritty, visually incredible Sci-Fi entry from Neill Blomkamp. He doesn't shy away from the violence or language and aside from Chappie, there aren't many sympathetic characters. The overall tone is grim, but there are some light moments here and there. This is one you'll either love or hate. I for one enjoyed it.

The movie Chappie was awesome! My 9 year old son had seen the previews on tv and wanted to see it. We opted to wait to see it until it came out on dvd due to it being rated "R". Luckily we did wait. My husband and I watched it first alone. It was a great movie filled with tons of action. The whole story was better than I ever expected it would be. After seeing it though, I decided it was a little too violent for my 9 year old to watch. It is a great addition to our dvd library and will be watched again! And our 9 year can watch it when he gets older!

This movie was better than I expected it to be. Wish it was geared more towards younger children because I couldn't let my neices and nephews watch it. But I guess I'm slowly beginning to understand. Directors and producers seem to think that unnecessary profanity sells. Overall good movie thiugh.

Despite the film's central figure being a robot, what I most enjoy about this particular picture is the ever present human element which pervades through it. Most fascinating is the idea of consciousness and the ability to create and allocate it; a most intriguing ethical and moral debate indeed.

The future law enforcement police robot has been stolen and reprogrammed. Chappie starts out his new life needing to be taught everything like a baby from his thug captures. He learns about life from the wrong side of the tracks. At points you really feel sorry for Chappie. Good movie over all.

Chappie tells the story of a robot imbued with artificial intelligence who is stolen by two local gangsters who want to use him for their own nefarious purposes.

Looks close to the blu ray version so id say skip it if you already own it. Me on the other hand must have the newest product out there and the 4k plus HDR really make this an excellent product!

Had not heard too much about this movie so i read the reviews. I wish Hugh Jackman would have been a good guy and not the bad guy. Some were very touching and you really felt for the robot. It was a pretty good movie. It was pretty good for an ai movie. The ending could have been happier.

It's another Neil Blomcamp the District 9 guy, movie and I was expecting more people vs the corporations. In the future we have robo cops, Chappie gets stolen and reprogrammed so he can think and feel for himself. So you know Chappie is going to be the most human of them all.

Artificial intelligence? Is there such a thing or is all intelligence artificial. What of consciousness? Is it created or inborn? Nature verses nurture? These are some of the questions that Chappie explores in a interesting mashup of Short Circuit and Robocop.

The movie and story is pretty good. Acting could've been better, especially from the questionable choice of casting Die Antwoord in the film. I'm a fan of some of their music and they fit their parts very well, but some of their more serious scenes felt fake.

So much better then Elysium, the directors previous movie. This movie is not overly political very little at all. Great action, strange story, a couple of over the top things namely the south african white gangsters but just an enjoyable movie.

This movie reminds me a little bit of a cross between Robocop and Short Circuit. There is a mechanized police force that is very oppressive so one droid is stolen and reprogrammed, with the ability to think and feel. Makes for some good action.

I love adding movies to my digital collection to watch on long plane rides. For the longest time, District 9 stayed in my downloadable cue. Although Chappie isn't as good as D9, one of my all time favorites by the way, it is airplane worthy.

Another twist on the potential dangers of AI in the future. This one is a little more like the concept of Robocop (robots serving as police). This one involves one of them getting an upgrade with AI. Great action with an interesting twist.

Different take on future of robot A.I. and how it would be used. Mostly an action/thriller movie, but the gang the robot winds up with is pretty comical. Same director as District 9 which was a refreshing take on an alien themed movie.

If you are fan of Neill Blomkamp, you will love this movie. It feels like an adult oriented update to Short Circuit (from the 80's). It is fun, funny, and makes an attempt at some heart-felt moments that may strike a chord with some.

This movie was surprisingly great; It starred the talented duo Die Antwoord in a surprisingly great and touching tale about a type of dystopian future and AI. There is a bit of violence in this and swearing and sexuality - I would heed the age warning. I bought this because I loved Pacific Rim and thought this would be similar. This movie can be compared to District 9, but more warm and fuzzy.
