    So I had a Netgear modem/router combo that died after about 2 years. The Best Buy clerk recommended separating the 2 devices to add life so I bought a modem AND a Linksys router. I spent almost 2 hours last night with Linksys tech support trying to get the internet hooked up and another hour this morning trying to get rid of the “guest” connection option. The techs were both women and did not speak good English. Nothing against women, I am one after all, but it sure added a lot of time to the call trying to figure out what they were saying. I think I’m connected now but after all the hassle I wish I had just bought another Netgear combo. I also thought it was interesting that my cable provider made sure I understood that although the Linksys was cable certified for them that they did not and would not support it if I had any issues and, essentially, not to call them if there were. It also would have been nice if the BB clerk had asked a few questions before he up-sold me. For instance, do you have a laptop or other computer (answer would have been “No, I only have an iPad”). Not having a computer or laptop seemed to thoroughly confuse the techs at Linksys.
