An excellent and harrowing five-episode drama detailing the explosion and aftermath at Chernobyl, very much meant for adults (including infrequent strong language, non-sexualized nudity of miners working in sweltering conditions, and some horrific depictions of bodily radiation damage) but rarely if ever gratuitous. This DOES come with a digital copy that works effortlessly through Vudu.

Amazing serie.Is incredible how well take this true disaster to tv.I love the reality of how the accident was treated politically and not thecnically.Great source of information never was this accident exposed to openly to the world 100% Recomended to anyone that want to know the true of what happen that day.And the end of much of the man and women involve in that nuclear accident.

I love this movie. I saw it first time on HBO and wanted to have my own copy. I was born and spent 39 years in Ukraine, in Sevastopol. When Chernobyl tragedy happened, I was 28 and expected my child. I do remember all that lies that Sovet Union government told us. For me, this movie is reminder about our past and about what could happen if we don’t do everything right.

One of the best docu-dramas in recent memory. A highly intelligent retelling of the infamous disaster in 1986. The story is told thru the amazing acting of the 3 leads and their lifelike reactions and delivery thru the course of this event. A must watch for anyone who wants to learn more about what really happened and the coverup.

Chernobyl is a very heartbreaking event in history due to soviet incompetence but man does it make for a great narrative to put to film, highly recommend this miniseries for any cinephiles that missed out seeing it when it aired.

I heard great things about Chernobyl but wasn't sure I wanted to watch it because of the topic. It's a tragic story, but the story-telling and acting are great. It's beautifully shot and captures what Soviet bloc in the 1980s must have been like. Sad story, but also shows the strength and resolve of the human spirit. Highly recommended and worth watching.

I love collectibles that are well excecuted & felt this was. It wasn’t just a piece of key art slapped onto a steelbook case… it’s an original piece made for this edition of the 4k disc. Smart & cheeky. While the normal release was way cheaper, the premium paid on this is worth it to me.

HBO did a great job showing how crazy it must have been during the actual incident. I have read that some of the depictions of the exposure and timing were not accurate but it really makes you feel like it really happened that way. Never wish this on any country and hope that the safety measures have increased around the world after people watch this.

HBO has knocked it out of the park with this one. I have for many years believed the excellent Band of Brothers to be the definitive HBO miniseries but Chernobyl is undoubtedly a contender for the title. For the disc, superb picture and audio that will make viewing and hearing this an absolute pleasure.

One of the best limited series of all time! First, before I forget, after each episode, listen to the HBO podcast that they put out on each episode as the creator/writer explains in detail how accurate much of it was while also explaining where liberties were taken. It's hugely informative and better than any other HBO podcast out there. The steelbook itself is insanely amazing MINUS the one huge issue that I cannot believe got through edition, a massive grammar flub: "An HBO A 5-part Miniseries." Ummm... what? How in the WORLD did this get by anyone with even a second grade education? It's been made fun of in various forums, and it is shameful, but it's all we have, so given that, it's still a must own. Nevertheless, it lowers it from a five star down to a four.

This is an excellent portrait of a real-life event that while horrible in the initial disaster it portrays what happens when the people in charge are slaves to the state. A true exploration of what it is like to live under an all-encompassing state that will do anything to maintain its image. This should be mandatory viewing in High Schools.

Learned a lot about the Chernobyl disaster. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has an interest in history. The director really did a terrific job in depicting the entire disaster and its aftermath with unparalleled attention to historical accuracy and details. I thought it is a move. This is a tv series. There are 5 episodes.

A tragic story of how human stupidity and hubris combined to produce an enormous disaster. Great writing, directing, and acting. Easy to see why this five episode miniseries won three Emmy awards. Eerie to view this production amid the 2020 COVID pandemic. The Blu-Ray edition includes about thirty minutes of special features.

Amazing show, and the 4K picture quality, HDR, and sound was pretty good. Significant improvement on streaming. The Steelbook art is also pretty good, though I would have preferred that some of the names and titles weren't there for a cleaner appearance (Just the show title please).

Being big fans of "The Expanse", we instantly recognized the actor. This is a harrowing story, but the delivery is powerful, concise, and emotional. If this is a subject matter you feel you can handle, it is more than worth the time of watching, and easily deserves follow-up viewings. This is just such a good series!

Great show, great Steelbook set. The digital copy only redeems in 1080p so that sucks. Otherwise very happy. Purchase price was $29.99. I do really wish that Best Buy would better package their Steelbooks, though. I'm always in suspense and often disappointed when receiving them.

Great movie would recommend very interesting must pay attention

One of the best historical dramas out. It’s heartbreaking how those involved were treated, as well ha s the ramifications that led at least partially to the decline of the Soviet Union. So well acted, shows the strength of human ingenuity in the face of something that will last the test of time.

Probably one of the best TV shows of all time. It really is a Horror in some ways and incredibly sad. The fact that it's mostly true is awful but it makes for great TV. Short and consise and the steelbook looks great, even with the misspelling on the case

I was 11 years old and living in Europe when Chernobyl happened. So I was eager to see what might have occurred behind the scenes of such a tragedy. Portions of the event are changed [in the series] but the heart of the Incident is portrayed brilliantly. I can recall only so much as a child-but I do recall acid rain falling w/in a period of time after the explosion; the kids were made to stay inside for a short time and not play in the grass. How long-unsure-I cannot recall. It really didn’t interrupt our daily lives but maybe a week Back in 1986. Now many people, including my parents, suffer with thyroid issues-which has been said to be linked to Chernobyl. If you haven’t watched the series, I recommend it. It’s apart of world history
