The true cost of secrecy surrounding the worst nuclear disaster in history

From the opening segment this film takes you on a roller coaster ride to nuclear meltdown as the bumbling crew leader conducts a certification test during a midnight shift, ignoring all reasonable objections from his reluctantly obedient engineers and control room staff. The pace of the suspense only quickens in the aftermath as they refuse to believe a meltdown has even occurred sending inspection staff into the heart of the open reactor, relegating them to becoming walking dead men. Finally the fight begins to tame this unthinkable beast they have created. Compelling from start to finish!

Whoa! what a show an mini-series. I have always wondered about what really happened in this tragic incident. The details were always hazy in news reports. I think I caught a Documentary some years ago, but was unaware of the drama that had played out and what almost could have happened had the rest of the world not found out about it in time. The series is very revealing. This is frightening stuff. I mean truly scary. It made me feel helpless and angry watching it. What a way to live, always in fear. The look and feel of this mini-series is what drew me in. So foreboding and dangerous. An incredible effort went in creating this atmosphere. The whole time I'm watching this I can literally feel the danger and the poison in the air. Folks this is a must get. Just for the experience alone. Highly recommended.

Then this is the mini-series for you! I've always read, watched and listened to everything Chernobyl. I've always wanted to know the inside details and horror stories that came with this world disaster. That is exactly what this series does, it doesn't just show you Chernobyl exploding but why, what, where, when and the how! Most interestingly enough is all the side stories that are left out of so many docs. about how hard the clean up and not to mention the contamination this disaster did or could have done. I won't go into too much detail as I don't want to spoil it for anyone who has not seen Chernobyl. All I have got to say is.... if you are a history buff, a dark tourist or just find yourself fascinated by disasters, then you must watch this series.
