…I wanted to like it, and, in a sense did….it tries hard to remain true to the source…the problem is that it lingers too long…the performance becomes all grunts and groans, animalistic sounds that overemphasize the characterization of Lester…a little quiet and a less lingering and it would have been a five stars...

This has to be the worst waste of money I've ever spent and the worst waste of money spent on making a movie. I finally had to turn it off. This is as sick as it gets. No one wants to watch this deplorable acts of a so called human. Save yourself the time and money. On a scale of 1-5 this would rate a negative 10. I took the sleeve out of the case and used it for another dvd that needed a cover. That was the only thing I could find useful in this purchase. I wouldn't even give it away. I just destroyed it.

If you liked "No Country For Old Men" you'll love Child Of God. What a ride!

About what I expected from the movie. Entertaining but not award worthy.

I bought this movie because my 19 year old son was so excited because it sounded like a good movie and it was directed by one if his favorite actors James Franco. It was so disturbing on so many levels. Please do not let your children watch this movie. If I could return it I would. I will never watch this movie again.

Child of God is not for everyone. The story is a little strange.

The movie version of Cormac McCarthy's novel is not as special as the original material it is based on, but it still has some of the great aspects of the book.

It is hard to watch this story of a lost soul. Everything is depressing and ugly. Not recommended. Watch The Dancing Outlaw , a documentary about Jesco White, instead.

This movie was a Sunday best. Not in the religious sense of the word. It didn't dissapoint.
