This is the best streaming interface I have used. Greater control than roku and Apple. The biggest flaw is that this device has far to little storage on it. You can fill up the storage with just streaming apps easily but it is very easy to remove and add apps. Android tv has a great variety of apps in the play store. This device is plenty fast and responsive.the screen casting is unmatched.

I can't believe I didn't purchase this a long time ago. Easy to set up, links all of my streaming services. Revitalized my old TV. Acts as a true remote to turn on my TV and my sound bar. The voice controls are really accurate and nice. It synchronizes with the rest of my google devices in my house, including my doorbell. 10/10, highly recommend.

The new Chromecast with Google TV - 4K - Snow is the best streaming stick available today. The addition of its own interface and remote control gives it full functionality without relying on your phone like in the previous versions. Of course the biggest advantage it has over competition is the ability to "cast" and now it even supports air play.

Best fit if you have other Google home devices

I purchased 6 months ago. I wanted to wait before a review. Originally purchased this with rewards points for the sole purpose of casting an Oculus to the TV. We almost never use it for this purpose as there is a 1 second delay. However over time we found ourselves using this device more an more over our Roku. For the most part it is simpler and integrates better with the Google ecosystem in the rest of the home. For instance its nice to finally be able to use the tv and connected sound system when playing music in the home. The Roku never quite worked right for this. The ability to see our security cameras is great. Especially for the kids when they are home alone. The biggest con is the limited storage and RAM. You can only have so many apps or services loaded at a time. If you have too many the device slows to a crawl or crashes all together. It would also be nice to be able to customize the dashboard. currently i have to click through multiple things just to load an app that doesn't fit on the initial page. It's a small issue but when other things load so quickly you begin to notice it to a point of annoyance. Even with the downsides I would definitely recommend this device to anyone integrating your TV into your Google Home.

Works perfectly on my old Vizio! Great, modern Android/Google TV experience and so easy to set up and install and arrange your favorite streaming apps and digital purchases. Remote is handy (if a little small and slippery) and voice commands work great. Maybe a case will come out, soon? And you can't go wrong with the price. Unbelievable value.

I can't stress how easy it is to use this product. You power it up and plug into an HDMI on your TV and it walks you step by step through the set up process. It's even capable of acting as a smart remote, able to control my TV volume and power switch. The user interface is friendly and it has all the streaming services you could think of.

Easy installation, all the major streaming apps desired including Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Dinsey Plus, and Youtube TV. Minimal advertisements on the home screen and responsive remote control. Finally, Google has made a Chromecast that can compete with Roku streaming stick and Amazon firestick.

The new Google Chromecast device overall is great. And when compared against both Roku and Amazon Fire TV, I actually prefer the Google TV (formerly Android TV) UI the most of the three because it's clean to look at and it's very easy to navigate. The remote felt comfortable on my hands and it's incredibly easy to get around with after a while. Next, the overall picture and sound quality is great, has support for Dolby Atmos and also Dolby Vision (and I believe HDR10+ too?) though right now as of this review, Dolby Vision only works on Netflix and the Dolby Atmos only works on the aforementioned app and Amazon Prime Video. Lastly the selection of apps is very similar to Android TV on other devices like Nvidia Shield TV and Sony TVs. Unlike Roku and Amazon, the Google Chromecast actually has HBOMax app, making this one the cheapest streaming device to access HBOMax. In conclusion the new Google Chromecast with Google TV is a great true streaming device with a remote debut from Google (in the past, you NEEDED a phone or tablet to use a Chromecast) and honestly I think it puts both Amazon Fire TV and Roku devices to shame. I highly recommended it!

Best streaming device to date for this price point. Fast, snappy and very easy to use. I can control my TV and sound bar through its remote as well eradicating the need for multiple remotes. Fun tip: since this is essentially an Android device you can set up NES emulators to play games on it as well by pairing game controllers.

The interface looks nice and the new remote is a great addition. The remote can be used to turn on the TV and control the volume, so the TV's original remote isn't needed when using the chromecast. Streaming from Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu and other services is simple since the apps can be downloaded to the chromecast.

Be sure to get the full package with REMOTE AND GOOGLE TV. I have owned every TV Interface available and this is BY FAR my favorite. Remote is compact, simple, and super user friendly. Rarely needs battery changes. Easy to use and set up. Casting from your phone is seamless. Compatible with any screen resolution, refresh rate, and bit quality.

This is a terrific streaming device to replace an older Chromecast. Fast setup, handles 4k/HDR/Dolby Vision, and (finally) has a dedicated remote and operating system. As it runs a modified version of Android TV, essentially every streaming app is available (I use Hulu, Netflix, HBO Max, Starz, Amazon Prime, and Showtime).

After some confusing research about Meta Quets 2s and how to get my TV (an older LG nanocell) to share what I was seeing, decided to just pull the trigger and go with the 4K version. No regrets! Love that me and my husband can now see what each other is doing in VR and enjoy VR time together. Works great in that regard. Haven't fully used the device itself for streaming content through apps (ex hulu or netflix etc) so I'm not 100% sure the quality of that. I do know that the voice control works very well and sometimes seems too sensitive.

    Roku should be worried

Love it. The interface is much more modern and easy to use than Roku. Google powered global voice search to help find what you're looking for is terrific. I like the main menu where you can browse and search across nearly all your streaming services, and then with one click dive right into the streaming app directly to the show. It makes so much more sense than having to go into each streaming app first, then search. Roku should be very worried about this device. This being the first rollout, I'm really looking forward to new and better features as Google TV matures. If you don't mind Google knowing even more about you I'd highly recommend this. That being said, I do still use Roku also because not all the services I use are available yet on Google TV. At $50 though, if you've got an open HDMI port why not have both?

You enjoy goggle products, have lots of movies and shows save on google account? This is the perfect add on for your TV if you dont have a smart TV? Why you may ask? 1st gen of goggle cromcast was a great device, but i hated that i needed my phone to work it, but with this one you dont need too. You get remote which can be easy program to you device and its so easy to navigate and used. Have netflix, disney+, and many other streaming services, this is your one stop shop. My family enough it and so do my kids. If your using it for the kids room, I recommend getting the warranty, you might never know lol.

The Chromecast with Google TV is a great device, Easy to setup, easy to pair with your phone, sleek remote, good picture quality, everything you would expect from Google. But there are a couple exceptions. First storage - storage is not sufficient if you want to have more that the standard apps. When I install more than a handful of apps, I notice serious lag. The second issue is what I love and what I hate about pure android... lack of standards. Mainstream Google apps (YouTube/Search) seem to have little to no issues. This is not the case with Apps that are not produced in house. Frequent issues with apps from Showtime, DIsney+ and HBO typically require reboot or reinstall. These are not difficult to do but still not what one would expect from a top-tier manufacturer.
