We picked it up for a babysitter to use during a wedding. Instead of getting videos, we could just plug in laptops all set up for the 4 year olds.

Easy to install and to connect. Wish we would have bought the Chromecast with Google sooner. Makes watching TV easy compared to xfinity. The ease of ordering online and having it delivered. The cost was reasonable and would recommend to family and friends!

Overall, its solid, but probably a small downgrade from just using LGs built in apps. My biggest issues, its noticeably slower, and not as smooth. Apps take much longer to get a video pumping out than i expected, amazon prime videos taking the longest for some reason. I can click on a video on prime and it loads for 30-50 seconds before playing. The navigation is locked at 60hz, my TV is 120hz, so just browsing on the chromecast vs LG looks much worse. Negatives aside, i love the recommendations tab, the watch tab, and the continue watching tab, they're very convenient. All the shows you're watching across all apps show up on the main menu, vs having to open each app. I usually watch multiple shows at once, so this makes it so much easier so i dont forget any. Overall, its a solid device. If you have a smart tv already like myself, the tabs i mentioned above is worth buying this for by itself.

However, we do apologize for the less than ideal performance you get with the slow load times when you open up an app or when you play your favorite videos. We're here to help you and we would love to help improve your experience as best as we can.
If you're having another TV in your home, we recommend trying out your Chromecast with Google TV (4K) with it to see if you will encounter the same issue. Alternatively, most buggy and performance issues can be fixed by resetting your Chromecast device. Keep in mind that this process will erase your data and you may need to set it up again but you still get an out of the box experience by trying it out. Here are the steps:
With the Chromecast Voice Remote:
- In the upper right of your TV screen, select your profile and then Settings.
- Select System and then About and then Factory Reset.
From the Chromecast device:
- While the Chromecast is plugged into the TV and powered, press and hold the button on the back of the Chromecast. The LED should start to blink yellow.
- When the LED light turns solid white, release the button, and the Chromecast should then reset.

We switched from Roku because this does what it did and more. A really nice feature is a list of suggested movies and shows drawn from multiple different apps and sources. Also works well with the Google Home ecosystem, so you can just tell it to turn on and off, or to open certain apps.

With this low cost investment I was able to start streaming again and I gained access to more options. Also, elected me to connect with Goggle Home.

It provides Dolby atmos sound on Apple TV and Disney plus, although it didn’t work with prime videos for some reason. I also love the remote it comes it, this remote has an unique able to pair with multiple devices.

It’s easy to setup and use and works well! It has HBO Max and Vudu on it which Fire stick doesn’t have which is great! I definitely recommend this to anyone who is thinking about switching to streaming! The best thing about it is that the apps are built in and you don’t have to cast from your phone!

While it might not have all the apps you want, it does have pretty much all the big ones. No need to use a smart TV when you can use something that will actually be updated. Big improvement over the Chromecast (Original, revamp and Ultra) for a very good price.

So with this Chromecast I can use all my favorite apps again. Its extremely easy to connect, as I also had the google home app installed. The only item what i am missing, is the Google photo app, to easy browse my Google drive photo's.

I got this to cast to my new 4k TV but I don't think I've ever actually cast anything to it because I love the provided Google TV hub. It's extremely well designed and it's easy to go between my different streaming services, youtube, etc.

All are great but this adds some additional layers. Android TV, now renamed to Google TV, is a huge plus. The remote is also a nice touch. TiviMate works great on it for those looking at using it for IPTV.

It's easy to find what you want, the video quality is excellent, and there's impressive audio. It's missing a few built in apps, but overall it's an excellent choice.

Extremely easy to setup and use!

I usually have my husband do these things but I wanted to "cast" Rouvy to my TV so I could cycle on my exercise bike in Ireland. Worked great and I was up and running in just a few minutes. I use it several times a week now. I highly recommend this product!
