Why Chromecast over Roku or Firestick?

This is an excellent streaming device that allows you to access virtually everything you could with either ROKU or the FIRESTICK but additionally lets you access the Google Play store. That alone should be the reason anyone would choose the Chromecast over the competition. Where the other devices are limited, Chromecast does not have these barriers. Essentially giving users more options to customize their streaming experience to their preference.
The additional option to add a separate USB-C hub with ethernet port makes the Chromecast the clear winner in the battle for streaming stick supremacy. I have my Corsair K63 connected and everything is working properly.

Very easy to use. The quality 4k is pretty good but it doesnt get 4k HDR. Work well for most TVs but i notice the reduce in quality on QLED 82 inch TV.

Love this. Couldn't get My streaming apps to cast. Bought chrome cast with Google T. V. after hooking up and setting was able to watch my steam apps. With no problems.

I barely watch anything on my tv since I mostly use my computer but this little device has changed that! Love how fluid everything moves on the device and the remote is quite lovely to use! Wish it didn't have the company buttons on there but hey, that's the world we live in now, it seems.

OHHHH Man! I love the Google TV - so clean of interface when browsing my selections.
The only issue I have is I can't have multiple accounts with the Google Services so my kids end up listening to music or watching youtube under my account. We pay for premium and now I get recommended kids videos.

Casting Problem Solved

Got this to aid in Smart TV that is just old enough not to allow "casting" to anymore. Easy to set up (even I could do it!!), intuitive controller, and voila -- no more casting issues! Just starting to explore other options and having had a Firestick before, I'm quite happy with this as a replacement.

Works well like firestick but ok as a chromecast

Works just like a firestick. Which is good and bad. You have to go through menus more than usual. The voice operations are not as intuitive as just using your phone or Google home device and Google assistant. It works ok. I was hoping for exact functionality as chromecast with a gui like firestick. it nails the interface, but lacks in chromecast functionality compared to an actual chromecast

Ditch SmartCast for Google/Android TV

Having a Sony Android TV, I really liked the interface and watched some consistency in the other TVs. My bedroom TV is a Vizio and has a VERY slow interface. The Chromecast Google TV almost matches my Sony and is loads quicker than the Vizio SmartCast and a very worthwhile “upgrade”.

Great little way to turn that older TV that's been sitting around to a smart tv. Despite casting stuff onto your ipad or whatever. You can sign on to all the different streaming services easily. Set up was easy and didnt take long. As long as your internet connection is solid-- your all set

I love this streaming device! I have actually fully converted over from my Amazon Fire Stick. The remote is designed perfectly with extremely intuitive controls, and the chromecast does everything a chromecast is supposed to do. Drop Alexa, go Google!

I keep forgetting this is a Chromecast too because with apps for things like YouTube and Netflix and all the major streaming and cable TV services, I never reach for my phone anymore. The remote makes it super easy to get around to what I want to see, often more quickly than scrolling around on my phone.

The New Best Streamer

I had been waiting for a Google streamer ever since the Nexus Player from years ago, and this is the perfect device. If you have a Google oriented smart home, then this is a great addition as it can be managed with the rest of the devices in the Home app.
As for the operation, the new Google TV interface is much more tailored for personal viewing with smart suggestions of what to watch next and having a system wide watchlist across all your services. It is a bit more complicated of a UI than standard Android TV, like you would find on an Nvidia Shield, but once you get used to it's more helpful for finding content.
I would say the only negatives so far are the fact that featured content can be from services you don't subscribe to, which can be annoying but not a deal breaker for me. Also I've noticed the plastic remote is already getting slightly creaky in one spot after a month, but I barely notice it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this as the cheap streamer to get, especially if you're already invested in the Google ecosystem.

This is way better than the Tivo Stream 4k! It's cheaper, faster, more ram, and has more features too. It's also easier to setup with soundbar, etc. Be sure to download the android tv remote app, to make it even more convenient. i hope someone makes a case for it, because the remote seems very fragile.

Set up was a breeze, and it is a great little bit of technology to enjoy all my streaming services with the push of a button or simple verbal command. It even has anime streaming apps, (Crunchyroll, Funimation, etc) which my nerdy-self was over the moon about.

I am always Anroid fan
Pros:
Best and simple clean interface.
Faster the firestick
Con:
Volume rocker is on side of remote.
Remote build is little clumsy.
You can not power it up by tv usb port , so you have use external power socket. Not like fire stick where u can power it using tv USB port
Price is little high as you can get fire stick on sale half of it price
