Movie was just as good as I remembered it, and despite being old and using old school methods for special effects, it’s held up really well to the test of time.

Harry Hamlin stars as Perseus, son of Zeus. Perseus must face many challenges along his road to destiny and to save the beautiful princess Andromeda from the vengeful goddess Thetis. Supporting Hamlin is a large cast of names including Burgess Meredith, Ursula Andress, Maggie Smith, and Laurence Olivier as Zeus. Harryhausen's special effects are the highlight of this entertaining fantasy. This is not a simple image to review. Most of the special effects shots, of which there are quite a few, are noticeably aged with the creature being shot separately from the rest of the image. This is a standard trick, but quite noticeable on any outdoor action sequences. Indoor sequences fair much better than their open-air counterparts. I applaud warner for not attempting to reign in the disparate images, as we would not then have some of the amazing sequences that we do see. While the special effects haven't aged particularly well, the story is a classic.

Love this older fantasy movie. My Dad and brother were excited to receive in their stocking.

Good quality blue-ray at a low price. Enjoyable movies with great effects!

I'm guessing that most people who are considering this movie are like me -- children of the 80's who remember it fondly. If that's the case, I don't think you'd be disappointed buying this at a reasonable price. The most memorable scenes still resonate and it's fun to watch from an adult perspective. Yes, the special effects are outdated, but I still enjoyed the stop-motion techniques, and knowing that I'm looking at real objects and not something created on a computer. For example, Medusa is so much more present and sinister here than in the CGI-laden remake. And I actually enjoy CGI in many movies. The picture quality varies from scene to scene. Some are grainy and somewhat unfocused, while others are quite sharp, clear and colorful. One thing that's consistent is that it always look like film, as if it hasn't been touched up at all. In my opinion that works well for this movie, but others might disagree (especially if CGI and blu-ray picture quality is all you've known). For me, it was well worth the price to revisit this creature-filled world.

This film is one I’m quite nostalgic about as it’s one that I had seen as a kid when it originally came out in theaters. It’s an amazing visual adaptation of the Greek myth of Perseus. What makes it even more incredible is Ray Harryhausen’s stop motion animation. What some people might see is outdated effects I see as beautiful artistry in motion.

Was in the store wandering looking at products and came across this old school classic. I had recently earned enough to get a Best Buy reward and decided to treat myself. This isn’t one of the movies you get because of the special effects of today...this is classic stop motion effects with no computer graphics involved. I remember watching it in my youth and thought I should get it. Enjoyed it now, just like I enjoyed it then.

Ray Harryhausen is a legend in stop motion animation beginning around the movie "Mighty Joe Young". The mostly Greek myth characters in "Clash of the Titans" (The Titans being the Medusa and the Kraken) have more heart and personality than the modern CGI versions. The creativity is amazing. It's fantasy at it's finest. Includes special features including a 'making of' documentary and an interview with Harryhausen which are quite insightful.

Grew up watching Ray Harryhausen films in theaters. Yes, I'm that old. I was fascinated by his stop-motion special effects of 'monsters': 2 headed dogs, Medusa, the Kracken, skeleton warriors, etc. I was absolutely terrified of the bird in his movie "The Giant Claw". Best post-WWII science fiction until "Star Wars" in 1977. BluRay edition of this classic is most excellent. Get this edition of "The Class of Titans" (1981) while it is available.

I love this Movie. I had it for over 10 years on DVD but I just decided to get it on Blu-ray Disk just to have it on there also. This movie is a classic and it also taught me my about the people/characters/gods of Greek mythology. So I say get it. Its fun, entertaining and educational. It's twice as good or as I say a Double Delight.

This is a great sci-fi thriller about the story of Greek Gods and the way they interacted in the lives of ordinary mortals. Lots of great animation, techni color and interesting monsters. Based on Greek mythology and a fun story.
