    I have watched this movie on VHS long time ago. I like to keep a blu-ray copy. It is a very good story.

    They definitely spent money making this movie in 1963. Good acting, costimes and some elaborate scenes make it worthy of 4 stars.

    This presentation shows how spectacular a mid-20th-century film can be, made with a near studio-killing budget then fully remastered with 21st century technology. Compared to the Netflix stream I'd seen a month ago, I found the blu-ray disc presentation was just a little bit cleaner in video quality, much better in audio quality. The script can be a bit plodding at times and the acting a bit heavy handed, but this is a visual masterpiece, especially when you consider that, in the days before video capture and computer-generated imagery, everything you see was built by human hands. This excellent remaster preserves the film-like quality of the 1963 original, enhanced with crystal clear images and rich colors. The golden costume accessories, props and set elements really gleam, especially with a little extra contrast adjustment on your TV. Beautiful.
