Doesn't work 16 miles away

Forget about 16 min. I use it only when I am in costco, wallmart to keep connected to kids. or the kids use it to play.

They do not sound or respond like well made radios. At max volume, they cannot be heard. With every radio, line of site is key but 20 feet has these small radios struggling. Every channel has interference and they have no privacy add on. Was very disappointed but Best Buy helped to make things right by returning and refunding the item.

Range is specified as up to 2 miles and can only be achieved in optimal conditions, which include fresh batteries, a flat and unobstructed terrain, and both radios being outside.
