    Yard Sale Quality

I wasn't expecting much for $40 and that's exactly what I got....not much. I have a 50" Panasonic plasma tv and a Samsung blueray player (both under 1 year old) and only the front speakers and subwoofer from this Coby set work. I would compare the sound to a single speaker radio from the 1970's...very distorted and twangy. Let's face it, that was annoying in the 70's too. I have a small apartment so I did not want speakers that would blow the windows out, but these are just not worth even $40. I would pay $3 or $4 at a yard sale for them. They may be ok for laptop speakers, but I am going to return them and try to find something reasonably priced that's not going to prompt my neighbors to call the police due to rumbling walls, yet is pleasant to listen to. Also, I will definitely buy something with a remote. These Coby speakers have no remote and I can tell having to constantly adjust the volume when watching a movie will get old fast. Good luck in your sound system quest, but you will probably be better off skipping this set even though they are dirt cheap. Unfortunately, you won't even get what you pay for with these.

I purchased this sound system last May. I purchased this system because I have a working dvd player and a working vhs player I didn't want to spend extra money on something I didn't need. I would like to rate it but have not been able to use it yet due to incomplete directions. The set up of the speakers to the system was simple, but there was nothing to tell me how to hook it up to my own dvd player and TV. II have tried several set ups but nothing works. All I can find on the Best Buy website is Geek Squad contracts and it doesn't seem reasonable to pay for someone to tell me how to hook it up. I checked no on recommending it to a friend, but might change that if I could get some setup help.

It was easy to hook all the speakers up but a little complicated getting it to play threw your tv or game system just watch youtube videos or sit there a think and you should be able to solve any problems. I can not believe the price on this item and the quality you get its amazing. One of the best buys ever.

    Overall OK

My only real complaint is that with in one week one of the speakers started crackling and hissing like it had been blown but any speaker I plug in place of that speaker sounds the same so it appears to be something with the system and not an actual blown speaker.

You definitely get what you pay for. If you are looking for a decent surround sound for a dorm room or small apartment and don't want to spend a lot of money this is it. If you are looking for theater quality sound this is not the product for you.

Instructions are HORRIBLE they don't explain how to hook up to your tv or what other components you will need to purchase if t.v. does not have 5.1. Spend the extra money and save yourself a headache

This product was hard to unpack. But it was worth it. The speakers work well in the Stereo mode with my other purchase a Toshiba DVD player.

Not bad for the price, but a remote to control the volume would be very helpful.

Unit doesnt include an audio receiver, just the speakers. So even though its sold under the All in One Home Theater in a Box section, it actually isnt a complete system. If you dont already have a receiver, DO NOT SELECT THIS PRODUCT.

Great price, would have been perfect to go with a flat screen. But there's no remote!!! So you would have to walk up to it every time you want to turn the volume up or down? Give me a break. Returned it of course.

Second purchase from Best Buy of similar product audio products. However, this product is just poor in sound quality. Nothing more can be said, will be returning.

I need to get help setting it up. I tried setting up the device to my television and it did not seem to have enough ports. So I am disappointed in the instruction that was given to me on paper. I need to be able to call up a tech for help.
