Coin 2.0 The Next Step Up

I love my coin so much. From the simplicity of the button on my coin to switch cards to the security of the card making sure it's you and only you using your card is great! Coin is still in its early stages and as a consumer I do know that. So I know it's only going to get better from now on. I do wish there was a bigger screen when nicknaming my cards so I could use CREDIT instead of CRDT as the name when selecting my cards. Other then that it's slim and so far every place I have used my coin has worked even my cards with the CHIP installed on. I hope this review helps you because my coin has helped my slim my wallet down. One coin for all your cards.

So yes, it is a fantastic product and allows you to substantially reduce the number of cards you carry in your wallet. However, as some have mentioned it doesn't always work flawlessly, but that's to be expected with new technology anyway. In my experience, I notice it works well when it is swiped nearly immediately after selecting a card for use. If not, typically a down and up swipe will work fine. I loved it so much, I bought the last 2 my Best Buy store had to give away as gifts upon finding it the product was now being sold at BestBuy!

Bought this to help cut down on the size of my wallet and to make sure I have gift cards on me when I actually want to use them. So far Coin has been great, it was very easy to set up and adding additional cards was a breeze. The only draw back is the lack of a chip, it has only come up once so far in the month I've had Coin where the retailer required chip use, but I'm sure there will be more in the future. Just be sure to keep one back up card on you at all times incase this pops up. Regardless, I now carry a super slim wallet and still have all my cards on me anywhere I go.

The Coin 2.0 has taken me from having over 10 different cards down to 1. The process was very simple and I have yet to have a merchant deny my payment. It works over both swiped and NFC modules and set up was very easy. A+

I got the Coin because I had saw it on Kickstarter but never got around to crowdfunding it. Overall I have been impressed. It is nice to only have to carry the Coin card plus one backup card. It has worked at all local merchants, gas pumps, and even parking meters which accept card payment. The only problem I have is that it DOES NOT support contact emv (chip readers). At places like Food City and Walmart that require you to use the chip, the Coin will not work. However, at places like Best Buy who require the chip, but also support NFC, the card's built in NFC will allow it to work. As more places upgrade their terminals to support NFC (which is also required for tap-and-pay payments such as Android Pay and Apple Pay), I see the issue of the Coin not having a contact emv chip to disappear. If you want to thin out your wallet, I recommend this!

The Coin Card is an awesome idea. For someone who wants to downsize from several credit/debit cards in their wallet, it's perfect. Very easy to set up with your smart phone. I wish it could hold more than 8 cards at a time. And I also wish it worked with FSA or flexible spending account debit cards. But other than those 2 things, I'm a big fan. Can't count how many times people have asked me questions about it at various checkout lines.

This device is a nice concept of a technological gadget, you can save your credit cards, gift cards or memberships cards into one electronic card, only 8 of them at any time. The downside is that now with the new CHIP technology for the credit cards, these can't be used with the COIN. I am using this card to hold my Plenti card, Best Buy card, JC Penney card, PNC card, Sears Blue Card and some gift cards. It works great, just remember to have the app open in your cell at all times. Also remember that the battery will last only 2 years, then you will have to buy another one.

This product would get 5 stars if it worked everywhere, as the 2.0 claims it does. For starters there have been a few places (Target, Walgreen's, Best Buy, and others) where the Coin simply will not work if your card is chipped. A non-chipped card added to the Coin works significantly better as chipped equipped terminals will take the magstripe but 9/10 the person has to swipe repeatedly (I always have to tell them to swipe up). The NFC feature has never worked and I've tried it at several places with both chipped and non-chipped cards. Has worked at ATMs perfectly which is actually awesome. It's fun to own but don't expect it to be the only thing you will have to carry around.

Ok first off this is a neat device if you want to lessen the amount of cards in your wallet. However, the card reader that came with it often times took many many swipes to recognize the card you were adding to it. It was neat to have gift cards loaded on there though. My biggest complaint is that the button on the card is very easily pressed. This means when the card is in your wallet, plan on it being turned on multiple times. This may not seem like a problem but the card will reset after a certain number of times it is turned on and the wrong password is entered. This leads to you trying to re-pair and re-sync all your information again onto the card. Not very convenient when there is a line of people behind you waiting to pay. Overall it is a neat idea but suffers from the day to day use. I am returning it and just sticking with Apple Pay.

I am a heavy user of Samsung Pay, but I still carry my wallet and cards with me. I been following Coin's progress of the years and when Coin 2.0 was available I decided to give it a try. Overall, the card is supported 50% of my merchants. The issue is EMV support, Coin 2.0 does not support or it is difficult to know which terminals support NFC which is the solution to EMV chip based cards.

This is great for people that have a lot of credit card, right now just can hold 8 card but still good.
The only problem that I have is when a used my debit card on the bank machine to get cash I can't use it because my debit card have a chip and the cashier ask for. But with my wife debit card don't have problem because don't have the chip.

I bought the coin card for my bf. He loves the fact that he doesn't have to carry around all his cards and can fit it into his money clip. The only downfall is not all places accept the coin card so you have to carry a back up card just in case which I think somewhat defeats the purpose of having one of these.

I was really excited about the coin and even brought two more as a gift. It would be nice if it worked like it was supposed to but don't waste your money. I only works in some places and you have to still carry all of your credit cards for back up . There were times when I tried to catch a sale over the holidays and couldn't purchase the items because the coin failed to work . Your better off just using Apple Pay

I've had my eye on these smart credit cards since they were announced a few years ago and were starting to become ready for production. I finally bought the Coin only when I saw it in the Best Buy store and I thought for $100 it was not bad.
This card would be perfect if it had an EMV chip. This card will work anywhere you don't have to actually stick your card in and have the machine read the chip because the card you loaded onto it is a chip card (which mine all are) so places like Target, 711, Walmart, etc. it will NOT work. Meaning you still have to get out the original card with the chip and use that instead.
It will work at restaurants and certain eateries/stores that have not upgraded to the new chip and sign machines but anywhere else is a no go.
Please Please Coin have the 3.0 version have a working EMV chip or I feel I will be moving to Plastc when it comes out solely for that reason.
