I had looked for this online and read the reviews, seems to work well. I went into the store for something else and left with this and a few other impulse buys, lol. It takes some getting used to but once I get the hang of it should be good - it really does suck to have to chat through the controller with no official keyboard this will make it far easier good buy

Purchased as a gift for my boyfriend for Christmas. He loves it. Its very simple to use. He really likes that is also charges the controller as he's playing. The only downside he's found is that in order to use the keypad he has to redo the settings on his PS4.

Initially, I really liked the idea of having this keyboard, since using the app, to type, isn't very functional. Unfortunately, the design gets in its own way. To start, the nub at the top, goes over the PS button. I'm not sure why, other than for stability, but when you slide it on/off, it presses the button, on the controller. Often turning your system back on/off. Additionally, it makes it harder to press the button, with your thumb, because the plastic is thick. For my setup, I have a charging stand, that the controllers click into. The charging stand is configured for the original micro USB connection. When this keyboard is on, the ports no longer line up with my charging stand. The keyboard also like to go to sleep easily. So, when you're ready to type, the keyboard is usually offline. It takes a few seconds to reconnect... often long enough to think it's no longer working. It also like to act as an audio device, so if you have a wireless headset on, and plug in the keyboard, it will take over the audio. You then have to turn off your headset, and turn it back on.

Chat boost has a full qwerty keyboard with arrows just like a desktop keyboard. Extends your battery life while you play or charges if the controller is dying/dead. I love the Bluetooth connection feature, you can connect it to laptops, Smart Tvs, and other bluetooth compatible devices. Sits confortably in your hand doesn't interfere with gameplay or force you to hold the controller differently.

I bought this to replace the wireless keyboard I had been using for in-game chat, and to take advantage of the battery boost during long gaming sessions. As I have bigger hands, and the PS4 controller is a tad small to begin with, comfortably holding the two together took some getting used to, but it's a good accessory nonetheless. It feels sturdy and well-built, and I haven't yet experienced any issues with it.

This keyboard is great for chatting with my friends online and fits comfortably in my hands. It also has a built in battery making it easy and quick to charge my controller. On occasion the keyboard sometimes will not connect right away and will require me to have to go into the settings to set up the Bluetooth again. Other than that this is a great gaming keyboard.

I hate typing using the on screen interface. This has great improved my PlayStation experience when having to interact via text with other users. This fits tightly and works well with the controller. And you can still plug in your headset. This is easy to set up and work with.

The keypad is of excellent build quality. The keyboard buttons have a soft feel which is comfortable to use and they have a definitive click when pressed, which I like. I like the feature where you can use it's battery to boost/charge the controller battery and extend it's life. Ergonomically it fits great in the hand and is actually comfortable and slim enough to game with it left on the controller. The only gripe I have is when you take it on and off of the controller, it tends to push the PlayStation button on the controller which can open the main console menu/dashboard. Not a big issue, but worth mentioning as my Xbox 360 keyboard's design (from a different company) slips on and off without hitting any buttons. Overall a good buy.

Unfortunately, the bluetooth connection will drop out after only ~15 seconds, meaning that the next time you want to type something, you have to press a random button and wait another 5-8 seconds for it to reconnect. This is definitely done to save power, but it makes getting a quick comment in between Rocket League matches pretty much impossible due to the connect time. That was a dealbreaker for me. If it stayed connected at all times (regardless of the battery hit), I definitely would've kept it. If you just want to use it to casually text chat with people or comment on videos and streams and such, it will work great for you. However, if you want to get some quick trash talk in between deaths or rounds, then this isn't going to work for you, and sadly I don't know of any similar products which aren't restricted in exactly the same way. The best solution would be to use a full-size USB keyboard (a wireless one would probably work too).

Great addition for the controller. Much easier to enter text and use apps that require text entry... Not so easy to get on and off of the controller but thats not too big of an issue.

A little tough to get on/off controller sometimes due to design, but not bad. Use it for Final Fantasy XIV in place of a full keyboard, makes it nice to keep it to just one device.

Makes playing and chatting so much easier so I get to play a better game and know what is going on around me. My team mates who don't have headsets can now know what is going on.

This product may look like it'll make the controller a bit bulky but it does NOT. You can't even tell it's attached to the controller, it's great. And it makes quick chats so easy and so fast. I use it for Rocket League as there is not much time to chat when you're playing a fast paced game but this device allows me to type quite a bit of words with a short window in this game. So main things, it's sleek and covers so much ground when messaging friends

It made my life easier, I'm able to type things much quicker then before. Only prob is when trying to remove it from the control. Rather then that it's cool

I purchased this because I enjoy having an actual keyboard for my console for when I have to type. It work as you would expect and it has the added benefit of serving as a backup battery for your controller just in case your battery is getting low, mid game play. I don't find myself using it very often, but it is nice to have when the kids are over and playing PS4 all day. No complaints about dead controller batteries!

This add-on is great for chatting with those friends and/or family members who don't have a headset, or for when you or they have to be quiet, but you still want to communicate quickly! It's much faster than using the on-screen keyboard, especially for those of us who are used to texting with our thumbs..!

I had a fingerboard for my xbox 360 and I loved it. I got this for my ps4 - and it's...not as good. While it is completely functional and I have no complaints on use, the connection to the controller is not smooth to install. It also has it's own battery - which, while it can charge your controller, and the passthrough works fine for audio connections, the fact is you need to charge it from time to time. Also - it does not connect to the PS4 via the controller, the way the xbox 360 board did...it connects via bluetooth to your ps4, meaning - it works while not connected to the controller. However, typing in friend's ID's and searching for things in the PSstore and youtube is much easier with it. Average device, not a game changer.

Its a great accessory. Takes some getting used to as it relates to how you hold the controller. But easy to use and text on the fly.

I have some of the same issues with input lag that many others have reported. I still feel this improves my overall gaming experience in multiplayer games and mmo's. Much faster than the standard virtual keyboard for me. The controller battery boost is an added benefit. I wouldn't say this item is a must have for all gamers though.

Purchased the add on due to it boosting battery life with the addition of the keyboard. Within the week of using it, gently used, it constantly dropped connection and always saying I had a mic on and then day 8 as I went to unplug it from charging the mirco USB port pulled straight out of it! Seriously a cheap product! Have one for my 360 and it has lasted for years! Come on Sony make a better one!
