Purchased 2 of these units, one for myself and one for my wife. No more having to go outside in the cold to start our vehicles. Lock, unlock, and rear opening hatch features are all functional and nice to have as well. There's also a feature that allows you to leave your vehicle running and locked at a convenience store if you're just running in to grab something (most newer vehicles don't allow you to lock your doors while the vehicle is running) Range is much farther than any factory remote starts, very pleased overall.

Best Buy did an excellent job of installing this unit and it works great. Will start the car from a long distance away. The only hitch is in order to unlock the car you need to hold down the unlock button for 2-3 seconds, release it, then push again. And sometimes you have to push it a 3rd time as the timing has to be right. I have gotten used to it now and don't have any problems but it would be better if you click the button once (Like every other keyless entry unit on the planet) and have the door unlock. I have not found a way to change this so far. Instructions just say to push the button to unlock but the Best Buy tech said it works the way I described here.

Got this starter when Best Buy was doing their one day sale. Installation went on without a hitch. The only issue I have is the unlock button works a little differently than my normal remote. Also, it would be nice if the remote clicker had a function to let you know if the car actually started or not. As it is I click it and have to poke my head out the window to make sure I had the range. Otherwise works perfectly.

Got this with an online package deal of the day. The service at the Woodland Park location for the remote start install was great and the staff was efficient with the install. Highly recommend this location. The starter has worked every time I've used it. I live in a condo downtown in a city and I use it by pointing it outside of my window and into the parking garage a couple hundred feet away. Works every time!

Purchased 2-2016
Good unit. Had a Viper prior, so I am spoiled. I had the Compustar installed. The install went fine, but 2 time today, we started the vehicle and was exiting it. My wife started it. was walking away and didn't know it, and when we got home, I clipped the snap on my belt loop, and the vehicle started. I guess the buttons are soft touch, and operates different from last one, that we are going to have issues with it.
The key fob is awkward, It is square and the buttons have increased by 2. Same function as last, but more buttons??, go figure.
Overall, unit is an excellent unit, just takes a little getting used to to work properly.

Whether it's your first autostart or a replacement, this unit from CompuStar functions perfectly. Expertly installed by the Geek Squad, this little baby warms our car each morning before we start our commute. We live in Alaska, so you know that this thing is built for extreme environments! Works perfectly when starting a car from inside the house or inside my office. The remote is simple and easy to understand (and not too clunky!)

Good Remote Start for the Price

I purchased this remote start when it was on the Daily Deals on website for $189 + taxes. For the price I thought it was a bargain because it came with the installation along with the Bypass module (Interface) which that alone cost over $60 depending where you get it. The remote start works good, but I haven't really tried the full range as it says on the box of 2000 ft. Overall this product works good. I think compustar should add the security feature on this or any least make it any option to add it.

The price was reasonable after discount and including the installation. However, be prepared to "lose" a key to install the starter if your car is more than 10 years old. The starter needs your car's key to hook up with a computer chip embedded in it. That can be avoided if you don't mind getting a key duplication. Be advised that costs extra at your car dealership. Overall, my Geek man from Best Buy was willing to work with me resolving all the issue. That made me happy through the installation process.

I got this along with a Geek Squad installation for a good price on my Sienna. Most things works as it supposed to. for some things I still need my OEM remote. So I have to carry both. for an example, this does not have a way to open the power sliding doors. Also if you hadn't stated the car with the remote start, it will not unlock the rear door. If the car was remote-started it will unlock all doors at the same time, but not otherwise.
The range is not so good. you pretty much have to see the car for it to work. As I found out after from the manual, the antenna is supposed to be installed horizontally, but the Geek Squad guy had it installed vertically. Not sure if that has anything to do with the range.

I've had this same starter on my truck for several years. It works well, however the range is certainly suspect to environmental conditions. I'm good from about a hundred feet on mine, we'll see if this one is any better. I like the fact that it comes with 2 remotes and I just learned when this was installed in my daughter's vehicle, it has a "pit stop" feature where you press the start button while in the running vehicle, it places the car in a stand-by mode which allows you to remove the key and lock the doors while keeping the vehicle running at the same time allowing you to run in to your local convenience store and keep the car warm. Surprisingly, I have it on my older version as well. Would have been nice to have known that when the first one was installed.
No issues with either at this time, Beware of the "valet mode" which disables the starting system. I had to take my truck back in to the Geek Squad Mobile guys to learn the hard way ($).
So far it's a quality product.

Love this product, I live in Michigan, this winter is brutal. Its very nice to get into a warm car every day before and after work. One negative, I have a push button start on my Camry, when I open the door to get in the security shuts the car off, I just have to push the start button and off I go in a warm car. The state of Michigan should purchase one of these for all the residents.

The product has turned out great. Took over a month to get an appointment for an install and getting a hold of anyone at best buy that could answer basic questions (which the product page informs you to do) was impossible but it started my car in my detached garage so I'm good to go.
