I received this as a Christmas gift. When they went to install the product in my vehicle the gentlemen indicated he really didn't know what he was doing. The remote works, but I have to carry a second remote because the installer says you can't program this kit to unlock doors.

Due to the severe cold weather I needed a remote starter for my car and since I had a remote starter installed at Best Buy, I decided to go back them. Also, one of the reasons I chose Best Buy is, if I had a problem, I can take the car to any of the locations and get the help in case I needed it. I am very happy that I did purchase the one I did, because, it works really well. The remote lets me know with a light and a sound feedback if the car has started. Also, since I take the train and the car is parked so far, I can start the car from the train as it pulls into the station and know that the car is atleast warmed up a bit, so I can get in and drive away. Overall, I am very satisfied with the installers that helped me choose the remote starter and the installation and the equipment working so well as it is.

I've used viper exclusively for my cars until my brother recommended the very 1st 1 mile remote pager system (2WSSR) from Compustar for my 2002 Civic Si & thank God that I made that decision. On 2012 I traded the Civic for the Scion XB & have the top of the line Viper 5704V system installed, 3 months later I lost the LCD remote pager as the keychain holder for the LCD remote broke off because it was made of cheap plastic. Last August we've decide to add the 2015 Honda CRV & decided to have the latest Compustar RSG6-AL remote start kit installed together with the Compustar FT-ALARMIT-KIT. So for anyone who might want to upgrade their remote start system and add an alarm later on this is the only way to go as No DEI (Viper, Clifford, Phyton, Avital) remote start system can be upgraded. Another feature I like with this system is the inclusion of the BLADE-AL by-pass, with Viper or any DEI system you'll need to buy a separate by-pass module which usually cost $100. Lastly, I've just recently upgraded the remote & antenna to the latest Compustar Pro T11 (http://www.compustar.com/product/remote-start/pro-t11/) the only system capable of 3 mile range, another 1st from Compustar using DSST (Digital Spread Spectrum Technology). I almost forgot to tell you how well I was treated by the Geek Squad Installation team of Best Buy Levittown, NY.

The door remote and ignition starts work. There is a 1 to 2 second delay on the door locks after the button is pressed and a 3 to 9 second delay after the ignition start button is pressed. The distance is reduced with structures in the way. The vehicle will auto shut off in 10 minutes if the key isnt placed in the ignition and turned to on, keep that in mind if you are warming up the vehicle in the winter.

I got this for the hubby for christmas. took a month to get a spot with install guys at best buy, and i was really nervous whether this would work after spending the money and having it installed. He has an F450 Diesel with a glow plug, we live on 40+ acres so we don't park right next to our house like city folk might. I'm not sure the exact distance from our house to our shop, maybe 500ft? but the terrain isn't level, there's trees blocking the truck from the house...we brought the truck home after the install and when he tried it from the house...lo and behold, it worked!!! we were both so thrilled, he who always whined that he needed someone to start up his truck in the mornings when it's really cold out, now only has to push a button to get his Diesel truck started! We found out that after 15 minutes of idle, it shuts itself down, but that should be plenty of time for him to run around, feed the animals, etc., and hop in his truck in the mornings. Something we were skeptical and unsure about, turned out to be a great thing! Now I want one in my car! Also, kudos to the best buy techs as they let us drop his truck off the night before, where it could sit in their bay, be cooled enough for them to work on in the morning (something about it's better to install when the engine is cool), and then when it was done, they just gave us a call and we drove in to pick it up). Thank you for the great installation job!

The remote start works very well. I was told it is self learning and will adjust how long it needs to crank to start in colder temperatures. Sometimes it takes two times to start but most of the time even on a cold morning it will start on the first try. As for the keyless entry, I had an issue twice where the unlock feature didn’t work. It may have been caused by me hitting the lock button on my door instead of the remote which confused the system. Overall it was a great purchase and I’m very happy with it.

Remote start is great. Warms car up for wife before she goes to work. Medical issues can not take cold and needed car warmed up prior to getting in. Remote is one way only and parking lights do not turn on when car is started. Go a second remote with confirmation (two way) to let her know car is started. Works great with add on remote.

Happy with my purchase of this kit especially the price that I got it for which included Geek installation and $20 Best Buy gift card. Local Geeks did a good job of installation even thought the install guy was a fast talking impatient type. Be sure to upgrade to the 2-way remote with longer range if you want to be sure that your vehicle started.

In harsh, bitter cold Winter season, this has proven to be the best purchase ever for starting and heating car from within the warm confines of home, restaurant or business! No more chipping away at ice on windshield while slipping and sliding on slick surfaces, This product minimizes time outside, freezing, while trying to remove snow from front, side and rear windows! Just set car temp and defroster in car the night before, then next morning, start and warm the car - from INSIDE your home! Snow removal faster, easier when windows defrosted. And, less time outside in the cold! So happy to have made this purchase and even happier that Best Buy installed, quickly and expertly, and made certain I was comfortable with product and usage. To summarize: Great purchase, great price, great service, great experience!!!

If you live anywhere cold I don't know why you wouldn't have a remote car starter. I waited seven years after buying my car, I do not know why. The installers did a wonderful job of explaining the pros and cons of a couple different models-this fit the bill on the counts. With the added $ for installation and specific parts for my car it turned out to be more expensive then I originally thought, but it has already paid for itself two months in. I also purchased an additional 2-way remote so that I could be sure my car started/turned off. I cannot say enough for this remote starter!

Perfect product for someone who just wants a remote starter. Easy to use, and haven't had any problems with it. Geek Squad installation was quick and proficient. Overall very pleased with the product and the service.

My wife and I had two previous cars with DEI starters for over 10 years and they worked flawlessly. We had this starter installed in her new Honda CR-V and my 2008 F-150. They are finicky about how long you hold down the start button, too short or too long and the cars won't start. The remote can't penetrate two windows, I have to open a glass door to our lab at work in order to start it outside the lab wall 50' away. Each morning we have to check out the window to see if they have started in our detached garage, 40' away, about 50% of the time they do not start. I wish I would have chose a viper system instead, but the Compustar system was on sale.

I decided at my age I deserved an auto start and the funds were gifted to me. I wanted a Viper - cool looking - and it was with the advise and counsel of the Best Buy AutoStart staff that I went with the LOWER PRICED CompuStar and it had all the parts that I needed - nothing extra to buy. My review must also include the EXCELLENT installation by the Anchorage Dimond crew Micah - he did great work and even gave us some extra info about my new truck. thanks loads.

Excellent product. Works everytime, range is fantastic. I park in a 10 story parking garage and i am able to start it from half a block away.

I'm not sure how I ever survived pre-remote car start! The CompuStar remote works great in my car & I can use it at quite a distance, inside buildings.

This is a great product with many options for install and set up. I really like the fact that you can program the remote to match the vehicle or to only have limited functionality, the security feature of locking the vehicle during the start cycle and the option of having the lights and horn sound or not. According to the installer, this is easily re-programmed if you ever want to change the functions.

This a great remote start kit. It is nice that the over ride is included! It does shut off after 15 minutes. The range is good.

Had to add some additional parts b/c I had a Bose system in my vehicle, so the cost was a little higher than advertised, but it works great for me. I can start my vehicle from inside my apt or office and I don't need a window to aim it out of. It even turns on my rear defrost and heated seats (GMC Envoy). You can adjust start time from 10 min to 30 min (15 is plenty). Mine has door lock/unlock as well. I had Geek Squad install the unit. It is possible to do it yourself, but free from them so you might as well have them install it. Overall, Great product!

Works effortlessly and has great range. Remote informs when started and reminds vehicle is running.

Simply put, when you decide you want an auto start - Price may NOT be an option, but for me it always is. I needed it all to fit in my budget - all the EXTRAS that I needed for the Viper are in this box and at a better price. Price and complete - what else can you ask for
