I wanted a mirror that I could use without glasses. This mirror doesn't solve that problem. The 10X magnification side only works when you are within 1 inch of it. Otherwise, your image is blurry and upside down. The other side is just a mirror.

If you have never tried a 10x magnification mirror, try before you buy. I thought I was buying the same kind of magnifying mirror they have in hotel room bathrooms, which I like. But 10x only works if you have the mirror within three inches of your face. Otherwise, your reflection is upside down. The quality of this mirror is great and the brushed nickel finish matches my bathroom fixtures perfectly. I will look for the same thing in 5x. But if you know 10x is what you want, buy it.

The light is bright and shines around the whole mirror. We use it as a room light at night so we don't have to turn on the bedroom light. The mirror its self is clear and has little distortion.
