I waited a couple months to write this review so I would have ample time to test and scrutinize the unit. This PSU was purchased to replace my 5-year-old Rocketfish 750W PSU for my custom-built PC which is heavily OC'd, and also loaded with a power-hungry Titan X. The packaging is good, and all of the components are bound using twist ties. I felt like my product had been protected during the shipping process, and - as a result - I would not need to worry about defects or damage. The unit itself is a beautiful matte black finish without the inclusion of any LED lighting that would detract from the aesthetics of your build. The unit is modular, so there are no unnecessary cables to clutter your PC case - you simply use what you need, and store the rest in the box. The four PCI-e 6+2 pin adapters means that you can SLI/Xfire the most demanding dual 8 pin premium, high-end graphics cards. The PSU output is high enough that you can additionally power multiple fans, or a significant push-pull liquid cooling loop without starving crucial components. There's also plenty of connectivity and distribution to run multiple storage drive arrays - which would make it excellent for a home NAS solution. The only cons are rather subjective and readily understood; There are no LED lighting options, and it is rated at 80 Plus Bronze efficiency. To get higher efficiency ratings, you would be looking for an HX (Gold Plus) or AX (Platinum Plus) model - both modular - rather than the CXM. In all, this PSU has met all my needs for use in a high-end gaming PC which uses an x2 RAID-0 SSD array, along with 3 additional HDDs, and an optical drive. It easily keeps control of my hefty overclocking for memory, CPU, and GPU. There have been zero faults, and the fan is in top working order. I am very pleased with this purchase.

this is a very good power supply. I needed a new power supply when I updated my graphics card. I got a 850w even though I only needed about a 500w to make me a bit more future proof. this once runs very quiet and stays cool. this with my new graphics card and my computer seems like a new machine. My next upgrade will be a new CPU to really boost my productivity. this power supply was very easy to install and I haven't had any problems to date. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Upgraded my video card recently and needed more power. This did the trick nicely.. can play all my games on high settings with no lag. This supply is rather large, so if you have a small case you might want to get something different, but it works nicely for me.

What you get is a quality Corsair power supply with a single rail and semi modular cabling. It runs quiet and has cables long enough to reach everything in my massive NZXT Phantom case. If you are wondering.it has four 8 pin cables that will accomodate SLI or X Fire with the majority of single GPU cards.

Fairly easy to install (with youtube help).....quiet and powerful......really like it!

Picked this modular power supply for a new Skylake 6th Gen computer build. Just the ticket I was looking for. I only used cables that I needed and kept everything tidy with this bad boy!

This PSU replaced my non-modular 750W PSU. It runs quieter, powers the components perfectly, and being modular made installation much easier. Plenty of hookups with secure connections

Well packaged, easy to install, quiet and energy efficient, even for an 850W PS. It was a bit longer than I expected but it did fit into my Dell 8700 mid tower case. Works great!

This was an easy install and the cable management system is easy to use. Only note is that if your getting a higher end cpu and a higherend videocard you might want to get the 1000w

CX Series Modular power supply units are an excellent choice for basic system builds and desktop PC computer upgrades, offering high reliability, low noise, and the flexibility of modular cabling. Did as expected.

This PSU works very well and is nice and quiet. it came with more than enough cables than I needed and I was able to leave them out for less clutter in the system.

Good price and good performance thus far. Not to mention my case looks a heck of a lot cleaner and organized now.

new gfx card required more power. this one gave me buckets more than I needed. and did so SOOOOOOO quietly

I got this power supply for an external NVDIA Titan X card, which needs at least 600 wt.. I previously had purchased a bigger Corsair power supply on another store, a 750 wt. but it had the inconvenience of not knowing if it was powered because the fan only activates if needed. On this one, the fan is very silent and as these types of supplies do not have any type of indicator if it's on or not. This one is working perfectly.

I wanted something with a lot of power for my new build + anything I added in the future. This PSU (power supply unit) is module so not only is it super efficient but you only have to connect the wires your build calls for. Definitely worth the additional price for less wires.

Plenty of power. Lots of connector options including 4 pcie connectors. Runs very quiet.

The CX850M, where to start with this awesomeness? Well first off it's build very sturdy which feels nice when it's first handled. To me weight means quality parts in the PC world, obviously not always. It runs very quiet, and looks great in any system if you're looking for an appealing power supply too. Runs awesome, looks great, total win from Corsair. I couldn't ask for more.
