Stellar Sound with One Hiccup
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an avid gamer, I was drawn to the CORSAIR VIRTUOSO SE Wireless Gaming Headset for its promise of immersive sound and wireless convenience. After some hands-on experience, here's my breakdown: - Sound Quality: Simply put, the sound is outstanding. Whether gaming, listening to music, or watching movies, the audio is crisp, clear, and vibrant. The spatial awareness in games is particularly impressive. - Comfort: Wearing them for extended periods is a breeze, thanks to the cushioning and adjustable headband. No discomfort or overheating here. - Build and Aesthetics: The headset looks and feels premium. The design is sleek and sophisticated, complementing my gaming setup perfectly. - Connectivity: Seamless wireless connection with my PC, Mac, and gaming consoles. No noticeable lag or drops in connection. - Battery Life Concern: Unfortunately, the battery life leaves something to be desired. It's not terrible, but it does require more frequent charging than I'd prefer, considering the otherwise high quality of the product. Final Thoughts: The CORSAIR VIRTUOSO SE Wireless Gaming Headset delivers in nearly every aspect. The sound quality, comfort, and connectivity are top-notch. The only drawback is the battery life, which could be improved. But if you can overlook this minor inconvenience, you'll find a headset that provides a fantastic audio experience for all your gaming and multimedia needs.

Built to last!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought myself these headphones roughly about 3 years ago. Never had any problems with these bad boy. Only once did I had a problem, but it was easy to take care of. The ear muffles were ripping and falling apart, so I brought new replacements and it was easy to change them. Simple, but absolutely worth it.

Amazing sound quality!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great headset! I low how comfy they get. At first they were a little stiff, but after some use, they kind of softened up (kind of like a break in time). The ear pads are leatherette and are very comfy, they are a little small though, if you have big ear lobes, they may touch the internal rim of the pads (mine wont touch the drivers at all, just the rims). I like the many ways to connect them, either wired or wireless. You can connect them to a PC (the best way, as you get surround, high resolution audio) or you can use them with a PS4 or mobile device via the 3.5 mm jack. If you want the best quality audio, I will recommend to use them wired with a PC, this will give you 8 channel surround, 96hz, 24 bit audio. If you use the wireless dongle, while great, you getjust 48hz, 16 bit. You must install Corsair's iCue program to be able to tweak profiles, lightning, surround sound, update the firmware (there was one upon install, highly recommend to do so, as fixes bugs). There a few bugs, like surround sounds like being underwater, not being able to use windows Dolby Atmos etc (good thing Corsair is aware of these, and a rep is actively responding in Corsair's forums, so they are actively working on squashing the bugs). While they are, I recommend to plug them wired, and just leave the surround off (they default to 8 channel 96hz, 24 bit naturally, so you still get great surround sound), don't enable the surround function on icue, leave it on stereo. I do hope that dolby atmos compatibility is brought up soon to enjoy games that support the windows one. I have the license so would love to use it with them Apart from that, the quality of construction is outstanding, full brushed metal, the pads swivel to have them off on your neck and the rgb lighting is not obnoxious. They also include a high quality magnetic carrying pouch! Highly recommend to anyone wanting high quality audio, these are now my favorite ones!

Pretty Darn Good
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I put them on and immediately enjoyed them. I think the sound is simply good, though nothing spectacular. I'm not sure these are worth the price, as high as it is, relative to other headphones in the same general category. Maybe the price comes strictly from the wireless capabilities which I must say have improved my quality of life in work, though not necessarily in gaming. They are indeed quite comfortable. An important note: I am an Xbox gamer, though I do some PC as well, for which these work fantastically. For Xbox, however, they do not work as well as I'd have hoped. The provided 3.5 mm jack does work with the Xbox controller, but the digital-style sound level control wheel integrated on the right earpiece does NOT control Xbox audio, though you can still set sound levels through the Xbox UI. This is an inconvenience significant enough to warrant looking elsewhere, if you are strictly an Xbox player. I have found that by using an old 3.5 mm headset cable with an inline volume control this takes care of that issue. If the sound wheel controlled the Xbox volume like it does PC, there wouldn't be any issue. But as is, the control wheel on the headset functions like a car stereo knob (what I call digitally) vs a headphone cable knob which only turns so far (analog). The mic mute button does not work for Xbox either, though the mic works fine. If Xbox supported wireless headsets, this would be no problem at all. If the Xbox supported this headset connected to the console via USB, this wouldn't be an issue. But as it is, neither of these things are the case, and it makes me a bit sad, because I love these in absolutely every other way, and I hope they last me some good number of years. Especially for that price!

Really Nice Headset for Many Uses
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really nice quality headset. Purchased for my son mostly for gaming but has been using it for online school as well with the pandemic. He mentioned that it's a little heavy but sound quality seems really good and he seems to sound good to other people as well. The headset seems really solid so durability shouldn't be a problem. He's been using the wireless dongle setup with it and has had no issues that I'm aware of. Windows 10 with all different types of applications. The microphone is a nice large Mini-USB connector so it's solid and doesn't seem like it's going to break after removing and replacing it. The headset charges well and uses a new USB connection to charge. You can also wire the headset to the PC with the USB cable or a normal audio cable (both come with the headset). Microphone has a green or red light on it to indicate mute status which is great. Honestly if I had seen this a while back I would have gotten one for my self to use with conference calls and all the online stuff. We haven't tried using it with Xbox or Playstation as of yet but it is advertised to work with Playstation 4.

Great wired and wireless connectivity, ok sound
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wireless and wired connectivity are pretty great with the included 2.4 Ghz wireless USB adapter and the USB-C to USB-A cable respectively. The bass is subpar but the mids and highs sounds pretty nice. No official or non-subjective measurement done on my behalf, some may be a matter of taste. The 7.1 sound only accessible with Corsair iCUE software or for-purchase add-on software like Dolby Atmos for Headphones or DTS Headphone: X. Also can use Windows Sonic for Headphones. When any of the 3 aforementioned add-on software decoders are in use, the Corsair iCUE 7.1 functionality becomes disabled. No matter which is in use, the spatialization to me is not very impressive in being able to clearly distinguish positioning for front / back and high / low. I primarily use for work conference calls and at times find myself needing to talk louder because my own voice is not replicated in the headphone if you don't have the iCUE software installed (as I don't and can't on my work computers). I haven't tested what it sounds like on the receiving end of a call from this headset, but the mic is very nice in both being detachable, illuminated red when off or green when on. Build quality of the headset was one of the biggest selling points when choosing between it and a similarly priced competitor. Having both wired and wireless capability also was a major reason for this purchase. It also has a 3.5mm audio-jack cable. Because it gives me the flexibility of quickly going from wired to wireless or vice versa, I like this headset. The only other gaming headset that I see that gives this are at least $100+ more expensive. All-in-all, not the greatest gaming headset but good for what I need and great for calls.

Amazing Quality, Comfort lacking.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this product in hopes to have a nice high end wireless gaming headset so i could walk around in my room and to others while being able to listen to music and talk to friends on discord. The Quality of the product is amazing and i love the gunmetal finish. This headset feels like im getting my money worth in just build quality alone. The LEDs on the side are subtle and nice touch (even though youll never seem them when wearing) The Mic sounds great, picks up voice well and seems to have a nice happy medium in background noise cancellation. The green/red light indicators are pleasing and a nice indication if the mic is muted or not Now ive had MANY MANY $100-500 headphones and headsets to always try and find the PERFECT fit for me in sound quality, build quality, and comfort quality. Corsair only hits one of those marks with me unfortunately and thats in build quality. Why not the other two? ill tell you why. First, Sound quality: out of the box with no ICUE software these sound awful (albeit the highs and mids were okay). theres absouletely no low end and its just....not loud or good. with my volume cranked to 100 on my headset and my spotify i was just about able to get to a comfortable listening volume. IF you get this product and wish to use it correctly, you're 100% gonna need ICUE and turn on Bass Boost ASAP and never take it off. now onto my biggest stripe: Comfort Looking at the Virtuoso at first glance, its looks comfy. boasting nice memory foam top band and ear cups these looked pleasing and nice....but there's not enough foam. after about 2-4 hours into my computer sessions my ears begin to feel pressure and pain because there isn't enough space in the ear cups to comfortable fit my ears in without them touching the drivers. the top band also causes a bit of discomfort for a time and i find myself putting the headphones around my neck to relieve this pain for about half an hour till they feel okay to put back on. in all, the product has its quirks and its downfalls, but ultimately, its a good product for the price range its in. the wireless quality is still good and battery life is exactly as advertised. I would still recommend it to a friend but IF YOU HAVE LARGER EARS STAY AWAY

Honestly Pretty Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a Midrange headset it is wonderful. I stick with the corsair brand as I use the Icue program for all my items. This is identical to the Virtuoso RGB in black or white, but it comes with their 7.1 surround sound DAC and it is aluminum as opposed to plastic. Build- It is a gunmetal colored aluminum that is textured. The headset is built solid and perfectly. It is a reasonable hefty weight and can withstand a beating. It includes a well packaged experience, with all braided cables and that gunmetal color scheme. I love the switch on the headset allowing you to choose between wired and wireless mode. The mic is generously designed, and detachable. It includes an indicator light and contrary to other reviews the light does not distract me at all. And the mute button is right underneath the base of the mic which is very convenient. Performance- The mic is amazingly clear. A friend of mine actually commented how much clearer I sounded the day I got this headset. I used to have the void Pro but the mic quality is so much better on this headset. The sound quality is great with the drivers. It gets very loud and is crystal clear. It does lack on the bass end, but it's a gaming headset not a music headset. You really need it to perform on the mid end to hear footsteps, and it does that flawlessly. The earcups are a pleather and seal against your head to cancel out noise. The 7.1 surround sound sucks. Leave it on stereo. This is a corsair issue as it's a digital surround sound simulation not a true surround sound. Essentially it sounds spacey and like a tin can. So leave it on stereo mode and it sounds great, with great directionality. Comfort-This is where this headset takes a nasty hit. It's just not very comfortable. I love it however compared to the standard virtuoso it is heavy. The aluminum build is great but it does feel heavy after about 30 minutes. And the band is so tight it puts a ton of pressure on your head. It squeezes your temples, so you really need to flex the band to loosen it when your first get it. The memory ear cups are great but would not be comfortable with glasses. Once it's broken in it's nice but still isn't the most comfortable headset. Overall wait for it to go on sale and pick one up. It's worth it in my honest opinion. But never pay full price. You can usually get one 30 to 50 dollars cheaper. And it includes a really nice carry bag.

Great quality! Getting what you paid for.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset was purchased to replace/upgrade my Logitech G430. The 430 had been replaced by Logitech 3 times due to plastic failure at the speaker mount swivels. I wanted something that was comfortable, well made, and that I felt was worth spending a bit extra on. In stepped the Corsair Virtuoso SE's. The band, swivels, and even speaker housings are metal. The build quality is amazing. The headset is comfortable enough to wear for long game sessions. They're surprisingly light given their all metal construction. Most of the time I forget that I have them on. Sounds quality is top notch. The iCue software controls the output (sound and RGB) perfectly and the 7.1 surround sound works awesome. Battery life so far has been fantastic. The accessories that come with the headset are just as top notch as the headset themselves. Cables feel sturdy, and it comes with a protective travel pouch to keep the headset safe while you're on the go. I cannot recommend these enough

Super Comfortable and Beautiful!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Virtuoso headphones are amazingly comfortable and easy to setup. Even the USB adapter synchs to the headset super fast. These are some designer looking headphones with beautifully etched metals and the materials for the headphones are better than leather. The quilted pouch that it comes with is great and easy to add to my carry on for travel. To secure it closed the bag has magnetic clasps so it saves space. There is an included auxiliary cord but when I plugged it in to another gaming system aside from my PS 4 the microphone didn’t work. For someone like myself who likes to tailor their headphones to the keyboard and game, you are able to adjust the colors on the headphones! I’ve already had some compliments from friends and family about how the aesthetic of the headphones resembles a sculpted piece of art.

Headband needs more padding
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound is well balanced. If you are looking for lots of bass, these are not it. These do cover the mids and highs really well out of the box though. All metal construction of the headset feels very solid with a nice finish. I was initially only interested in headsets that have a fully retractable mic boom but having one that detaches is nice too. We'll see how it holds up long-term. I'm able to disconnect it for daily use when i don't need it, keeping it out of the way. The headset has a nice clamping force on the head without being too much. iCUE software required for rgb and sound configuration but is to be expected. Feature request would be to allow the rgb logo flash to sound. This would benefit my wife when she tries to talk to me and thinks I'm ignoring here ;) About the only drawback I've had so far is the head band. There isn't a lot of padding for long usage which the battery is fantastic for. I can use these all day for work and still have charge left for the next day or a couple hours gaming. The USB-C is is really nice and a solid connection. It is in a slightly awkward angle though. I have to tip the headphones forward or backward so they don't feel like it's hitting my shoulder. This isn't a huge deal as I usually just charge them overnight and use them wireless. I think it was an attempt to get the cable to go behind your back. The red (mute) / green (unmute) is a nice reminder along with friendly voice telling you it's on or off. Button placement is great and easy to use. Mute is right on the boom, so no searching around the ear cup for it. And the volume is a nice volume dial with firm but smooth spin. The last button is the wired/wireless switch. ezpz We'll have to see how it is long-term, the pleather wrapped pads.

Wow. Just... Wow!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a long and rambly review. I am going to be voicing opinions about this headset, mild critiques, and many compliments. I will not go into techy details as I feel it would be unnecessary for some users. So I have gone through a great many headsets in my time. Including this pair a good 3 times. I've always loved trying out new things all the time, leading me to try Razer, Logitech, Fnatic, HyperX, Steelseries, and finally Corsair. I think I've found my keeper in the Virtuoso SE. So, as I have said, I've had this particular headset 3 times. The first time involved me using this headset very briefly but I initially returned it because it put pressure on my skull in an uncomfortable spot. Prior to that, I had a Corsair Void Pro, which had been a long-time favorite for its comfort.. The Void had a softer foam padding, and after coming from that I was spoiled by the plushy softness. Therefore I returned the headset to pursue another favorite, the Nari Ultimate. Purchase number 2 ended up with me gifting the headset to my brother as he needed some good gear and I still had my Nari Ultimate. Finally, Purchase number 3 came when I figured I would give the Virtuoso a sporting chance to contend with the many headsets I have worn. I realized where the headset loosened and therefore put less pressure on my skull. Overall they still aren't the most comfortable headsets I've worn, my ears and part of my head start to ache after wearing these for hours at a time, but they aren't too bad and are aesthetically pleasing to boot. With the microphone taken out, they can simply look like expensive headphones when plugged into a phone. I then tested the wireless range by going to the kitchen for a drink, a good 25 feet from the PC through multiple walls, no loss in connection which is something even the Nari couldn't boast. A success filled with beer and happiness. Next was a thorough audio test, with me using it in movies, games, music, and ultimately hifi music which I will get to later. Overall the Virtuoso feels very clean, with no muddy sound, sharp precise notes that are complementing to many genres of music, including House, EDM, Jazz, Swing, Metals, Rock, and some hip hop. Of course, they aren't perfect for every situation, lacking the big booming bass of other headsets, but again sharpness wins for me. Are they the ear filling plushy goodness that was the Nari Ultimate? No, but while I don't have the immense audio volume or vibrating haptic sensors, the quality makes up for it tenfold. In Godzilla, I was impressed by the bass. In many Animes, My Hero, Rosario + Vampire, Shomin Sample, the voices are clear and precise, almost like using a center channel speaker. And then came Hifi, or High-Fidelity audio. This fella boasts hifi capability in the wired mode. Mildly inconvenient for a wireless buff like myself, but after using Tidal to give me hifi songs to listen to, this is almost audiophile levels of awesome. I've heard of Sennheisers being high end, but I am thoroughly convinced by the audio coming out from these headsets. As I write this review, I've listened to Heilung's Lifa album, and am currently enjoying Daft Punk's Alive 2007 album. Simply nothing I've listened to in the past compares to this quality. Admittedly, this is only my second experience with Hifi, with my first being with premium speakers, but I am just immensely impressed by the multi-directional audio feel and superior depth of the hifi. BIG win for me. Battery Life is pretty average for a good headset, getting up to 18 hours continuously, or many days spread out a long period of time. I can't attest to the microphone's quality too much, all I can say is that my friends can hear me well enough and that makes me happy. It is a 9.5mm for those who are tech inclined. Basically bigger than most others I've seen. It doesn't come with a pop filter oddly, but again I can't say this is a fault. Now value, these headsets are expensive. $200+ expensive. Therefore, it puts them in a rare category of extreme high end headphones, to which it is a solid contender. My others being the Logitech Pro, and Razer Nari Ultimate. It stands tall with it's Hifi capabilities and great aesthetics, far exceeding that of the Nari. Not as comfy as the Pro or the Nari, but that's a subjective opinion. Overall, it has neodymium magnets, a big plus for premium audio. 50mm drivers, 7.1 Virtual, good and flexible microphone usage, strong aesthetics, so it earns it's high price tag. Overall, I will rate these headphones an 8 out of 10. The Audio quality for Music and movies is overall sublime. Games is just as nice, but comfort is lacking for me. I wish it had softer foam on all the areas where it matters. Ears, crown of the head, as it would cause less pain for me, but for those inclined to try some really nice headsets, I say go for it!

Excellent hardware ruined by terrible software
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.+5 Star build and sound quality. +Very attractive looking headset. +Comfortable, but a bit heavy. Wouldn't want to wear longer than about 2 hours. -Terrible software with awful lag and buggy. I really wanted to like these. I consider myself a fanboy of corsair and own several of their products, from keyboards to pc towers and CPU coolers, but the iCue software continues to get worse. Corsair if you are reading this please take this to heart as its really making it hard for me and others to continue to support you. Ultimately I had to return, and exchange for another brand. Push to talk in discord seemed to be randomly engaging as my guildmates heard a conversation between me and my wife that was clearly not meant to be heard. Mic input was engaged several other times when I was never pressing my push to talk button. When using push to talk and working, there was consistently a 0.5-1 second delay even when wired in. This is unacceptable and almost certainly the fault of the software. I gave it about a week and tried updating iCue, but nothing improved. This is just unacceptable at the $200 price point.

Lightweight and Superb directional audio
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a handful for different brands of headphones and this is by far my favorite I have let rest on my head. As a PC I get to pair this with windows sonic for surround sound gaming allowing me to hear directional audio better than ever before. The lightweight design and long lasting battery makes for long gaming sessions (8+ hours have yet to exact check) to go with ease. Optional voice notifications from headphones telling me the battery status, when charge complete and when battery is critical to plug back is via usb for an easy charge. Can also have a task bar icon for the battery level. Detachable microphone has been a worthy upgrade in of itself with how clear sounding and high quality it has been described as to me from my discord buddies. Good looking headset too.

Good, with caveats
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Brief overview with some good and bad points: Good: Wired sound is phenomenal and able to hit Hi Res levels 96 KHz). Bass is tight and doesn't hit the super low ends, but with tweaking, it isn't bad. Mids and highs are pretty crisp and clean. Wireless is almost flawless, with occasional LoS issues and some sporadic dropping out, but I can walk all around my house and into the front yard out to the yard and they do fairly well. Build quality is really nice, and the connectivity options are solid too (used mainly on PC and PS4 with USB, Switch and Xbox require the 3.5" plug if memory serves me correctly). Really light clamping force on your ear/jaw; compared to some Cloud Alphas I have, these thing barely squeeze my head. But your mileage may vary. Bad: Comfort. While the clamping force is pretty low, after a couple of hours, I either have to adjust these to a more comfortable position on my head, or just take a break and take them off completely. ICue software. It's typical Corsair garbage and barely gives you any flexibility to dial in the sound. It does have EQ adjustments, and side-tone and surround/stereo toggles, but beyond that, there isn't much. I ended up using Equalizer APO and Peace to really dial in the settings.

Great headset!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing headset! Clear sound on PC and PS4. Easy setup and flawless wireless. The microphone is clear and no one has issues hearing my voice. It's very comfortable to wear (I have a giant head and glasses and they're not too tight like other headsets). The surround sound on console isn't the best but is passable. There are a couple of annoying thing that are annoying. One is how the mute button doesn't work if you're manually plugged into a PS4 controller via an aux cable. The other is how you can't change the RGB when playing on console. I wish there was a way to utilize the RGB capability when playing on console - even if it had a default color change (which happens when its plugged in).

Great headset!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headset is pretty comfortable, very lightweight. The only downside I've come across so far is that the clamping force isn't very strong, if I shake my head the headset kind of wobbles, but that's okay. Sound quality is great, bass is clean and highs and lows are crisp. The range is kind of lacking, won't travel past walls very well.

Comfortable, great sound
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone that has used a wired headset (Astro A40s to be specific) comfort and sound quality have always been paramount for me. I am easily bothered by pressure on my ears as I wear glasse. I tried other headsets aside from my Astros such as the steel series artics 7s if memory serves, and they were uncomfortable and pinched my ears. Now the Virtuosos are a little more pricey, but you're most definetly paying for what you get. The best sound quality, very comfortable, great battery life (plug them in at night like you do your phone and you'll be good all day) mic quality is fantastic, all while being wireless.
