I played the original as a kid and was able to 100% it so I feel like if younger me could beat it, older me should also beat this game without much trouble at medium difficulty. Unless modern-day easy is what old school normal was, they made the game quite a bit harder. After switching my kart mode from balanced to speed, I've been able to win the races by a few seconds over the NPCs but even then, I feel like at medium they should not be using the boost perfectly and catching up to me constantly. Even the time trials feel harder and I'm always 5+ seconds away from the lowest relic time. I understand it would not be gold time but even with missing only 3 boxes, you should at least get sapphire. At least they raise the times in easy mode so I guess I'm playing on easy mode now.

I thought this was game was going to be so retooled that it would diminish the nostalgia. Boy was i wrong! This game merges old school feel with new school graphics. Perfect melding of generations!

I almost waited for a price drop on this but it is totally worth paying full price for. I initially thought CTR didn't deserve a remaster and they should move on to new games. Well, now I consider it one of the best remasters ever. I liked the Crash Trilogy remasters, but I felt like they weren't good enough to make me never play the originals again. I played the og CTR for about an hour before getting this and I can confidently say I never need to play that one again. This update is that good. They went above and beyond with this. The speed and handling of the carts is so much better. There are twice as many characters and twice as many tracks as the original. The level designs are exquisite, almost too impressive. I constantly find myself paying attention to the level designs and not the race. The best new control feature is the drift boosts. It is so incredibly satisfying to pull off a turbo drift. I have no complaints and the only common criticism I've heard is the loading screens are too long. However, they are still shorter than the original game and it's not that big of a deal to wait 20 seconds between races. Pet your animal, stretch, grab a handful of chips or just contemplate the meaning of existence during this time and you'll be fine.

If you've played the original back in the day, then you will not be disappointed with this remastered version. As I am one of those old-school types and a very difficult person to impress, I am actually amazed at what it looks like. They have done an incredible job with remastering this. In addition to the classics, they've added new stuff to it. My only complaint is you can only switch between 2 preset controller button layouts; you can't individually assign buttons. But other than that, this game is worth getting.

What a trip down memory lane this was! And is!!! I remember getting this game on a ps1 bundle at the local k mart as a child. Now being able to play it hd and still have split screen as well as online included now!!?? The original story and new characters it’s just such a great piece of work!! Activision really nailed it on this and then surrounded extras are cool features bringing the tracks to life!! It’s unfair to compare this game to any other kart racer because it’s on a league all it’s own!!!

I have always loved the first CTR game for PS1. This PS4 remake obviously has improved HD graphics. But this game now has even more features, most notably new racers: some from other Crash racing games and some exclusively for this game. Plus get to customize your racers and vehicles. Though I still prefer some of the original voice actors from the original game, I accept some of the newer ones for the other characters. All in all this is excellent and is a must own. One for the memories.

Nostalgia vibes this was a fun game and I wish it was a bit longer play wise

Bought this for my son who likes racing games! He had me try it and I must say it is a really fun game.

Seems more challenging then it was in the past. Great remake, played online a few times, game also has free events!

Absolutely loved this series growing up. Was beyond excited when I found out they were remastering it. I will say it’s a bit more hard than I remember it. I’d still recommend it to any who loved it.

CTR Nitro Fueled is a high quality remake of the 1999 classic, leaving the gameplay as faithful to the original as possible while bringing the visuals up to a 2019 standard, and adding a whole host of extras including characters and tracks from Crash Nitro Kart and a roadmap of free DLC. Takes a bit of practice if you've only ever played Mario Kart, but rest assured this is a deep and rewarding throwback given new life.

It isn't as good as Mario Kart 8 in terms of design but watching Crash at it again in a kart racing game brings back all sorts of nostolgia. Very challenging in comparison to other kart racers.

This was released on ps1 and now on ps4. It’s a fun take on the kart raving genre. Not as deep as mario kart and you have to love the bandicoot series to find the charm here. Not a bad buy.
