The bad? I do not like the knobs. My hands often slips when i am turning the volume up or down. It would be nice if it has a rubbery touch. The knobs is smooth like silk. My fingers always have a hard time gripping and my fingers are not sweaty! No mounting options. I use it to power my Korg PS60 Synthesizer. The volume is enough for me when I practice. I thought the small speaker has a problem of projecting the full range of the Keyboard.

I find 3.1 and 5.1 subwoofers to sound a little too boomy. These T-20s have good 3- way speaker design and a vented port to strengthen the lower register without making it overpowering or boomy. If you value clear high end and mid-range at a medium price range, these speakers are a good value. Better speakers are going to cost 50% more.

I own the Creative T12's so I knew the sound quality was going to be great. The T20's sound amazing no matter what type of music you're listening to. I listened to the comparable Bose speakers in the store and they don't come close to these. My only complaint about them is you have turn the volume button past the half way point in order for them to rock! Overall very happy with Creative Speakers.

Excellent product. Physically has heft and controls and materials feel like quality pieces. Tonal range is good to excellent with plenty of power. At this price point and you add the great quality and great fit and finish plus the extra details like the gold plating on the jacks and there is even blue metallic flecks in paint noticeable in direct light. Hard to beat for the price and features, very happy purchase.

I needed to replace my speaker system for my computer as one of the speakers died. I didn't want to get the same thing, so I started reading reviews. The system I had before had a subwoofer with it, but I was kind of hoping to get away from that, so I bought these. These have a great base without any external woofer, and they sound really nice. I don't have them in a very big room so I don't need to turn them up all the way, but I do notice that when they are turned up higher than a little more than halfway, there is a bit of a static-y sound. So I just turn them down a little physically and turn the sound up higher on my computer and it works fine. They also look pretty sleek. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I bought these speakers because I had heard from the reviews that the speakers sounded great and were apparently better than the slightly more expensive Bose Companion 2 Series III. In the end though I had to return these because the power knob, which doubles as the volume knob, would not turn on the speakers on the day before the last day to return them. I got the Bose Companion 2's ironically enough and I like them too. For the actual review the mid's and high's on these speakers were good. The base was fine, and you can even fine tune the bass and treble to your liking with the respective knobs. Overall I loved how clear everything sounded on these speakers, just hope you don't get a faulty product like mine!

I bought these speakers from Best Buy back in October, 2010 after reading a lot of customer reviews and learning about the Creative / Creative Labs name. Creative is not as well known as Bose, or some of the other competitors out there, but after doing some research, I often find that the biggest name in the industry may not be the best, and that sometimes the other companies that are not as well known actually make good devices / systems that compete very well against the better known brand names. These speakers are pretty good, not the best, but, for $100, you have to take into consideration the price. They produce wonderful clear sound, although even with the BasXPort™ technology, which is supposed to boost the bass output, music in the low bass range is a little weak in that area. You can't judge these speakers too harshly for that - if you want better bass response, you need to spend more money and/or get a system with a subwoofer. I just didn't want to deal with a sub-woofer on or below my desk, as well as the extra wires. A couple of Pro's: 1. First and foremost, the overall sound quality is good, clear, and I'd recommend them. I also listened to the Bose Companion 2 speakers in Best Buy's store, and to me, they sounded artificial, and like they were struggling to put out the sound. Was not impressed with Bose C2's. Back to the Creative T20's - If you don't crank the volume way up they are great. If you need wall-shaking speakers, you should look elsewhere. At low to mid volumes these T20's produce sound which is glorious. I listen to a lot of classical music, also, rock from the 60's and 70's, and pop, and a lot of piano music. All I can say, is these T20's handle the music pretty well, definitely worth 4 out of 5 stars. 2. Treble and bass controls on the front of the right speaker. Creative was smart and designed this correctly, rather than having these controls on the back of the speaker. Always good to have, so sound can be changed slightly to some degree. Many other speakers in this price range don't have any T/B controls. 3. Auxiliary Jack and Headphone Jack on front of the right speaker as well. Again, Kudos to Creative, for easy accessibility to the Aux Jack. 4. Okay, being superficial here, they look good. The black finish goes with anything. The fronts have a shiny finish with some sort of blue flecks in the finish - which you really don't see unless you look at them closely, or have a bright light close by the speakers. The speakers are narrow, and don't hog space. You also have the option of removing the grills and having the speakers exposed, showing the yellow midrange driver. I prefer the grills on, they just look better that way to me. On the other side, the drawbacks: 1. If you turn the volume up, these speakers can't handle high volume that well, the music will definitely distort and lose quality if the speakers are pushed way up in volume. They are not speakers that you would have to fill an oversized room or a house with a party going on, where you need high volume to perform over conversation and other noise - they are more intended for a room, office, or smaller setting, where you want smaller speakers, that don't hog counter or desk space, and will easily fill that area with good quality detailed sound. Again, price range comes into consideration, if you need bigger sound, or a decent sounding subwoofer, you need to spend more money. 2. The glossy front finish of these speakers show fingerprints easily, if you are a neat freak, you may find yourself trying to either grab the speakers by the sides which don't show fingerprints as much, or you may end up wiping the front panel off regularly, or at least keeping the grills on the speakers as well. 3. The hole at the top of the speakers for the BasXPort lets in dust. not sure if this would have an impact on the speakers after years of use. 4. There is a brick in the power cord, I don't really like bricks, but I will deal with them if I have to. 5. The wire that connects the 2 speakers is short, I wish it was about 2-3 feet longer. This seems to be common issue with most computer speakers. If you want a reasonably priced set of computer speakers without a subwoofer I would definitely recommend these. Shortly after I bought these from Best Buy in Oct 2010, I noticed that BB had discontinued selling them. I am glad to see that the Creative T20's are being sold by Best Buy again. I would also recommend these speakers over Bose Companion 2's as well. Also, being that I have owned these T20's for over a year now, I have had no problems or issues with them, they continue to perform extremely well. On another note, if you want speakers to fill up a larger room with sound quality that is detailed and clear, with an amazing subwoofer, check out the Harman Kardon Soundsticks, which are also sold at Best Buy. I bought them last year, and they are worth it.

    Great speakers for the price

I bought the Bose Companion 2 speakers and just was not happy with them. I listen to Pearl Jam - Soundgarden etc and also do some gaming. The Bose were muffled to me. Wife liked them just fine but I could not get the sounds I wanted so I ordered the Creatives after reading several great reviews on a few sites, so glad I did. They simply are better speakers. I had both sets on the desk and played a TV show, music and a little gaming. I plugged in the Bose and then the Creative. 4 of us in the room chose the Creative as the better speakers in every category. I had my mind made up after listening to a few live songs in .flac format. Simply cannot be beat for under 100 dollar speakers. Very crisp and the treble/bass knobs on the right speaker are a nice touch. Surprised how well these little 28w speakers sound. They will not knock the walls down but a little past the half way mark they are LOUD and clear. So much better than the Bose and I never thought I would say that..

The best non-subwoofer speakers I found

I don't like subwoofers. There, I said it. They're great for home theater systems and full-sized stereos, but for my desktop computer in my office, subwoofers vibrate the floors too much and disturb people in other rooms without giving me a significantly better aural experience, particularly since I'm just listening to stuff through my computer or iPod at relatively low volume. Most table top speakers are junk. So when I finally decided that I'd had enough of the throw-away speakers that came with my HP computer, I took my iPod (and the 1/8" plug-to-plug cord that I use to connect my iPod to my car stereo) with me shopping. (BTW, that was a really good idea...do the same if you can.) Almost all computer speakers have an "AUX" input jack, so I was able to go from one set of speakers to another comparing them using the same song from my iPod. The Creative Labs Gigaworks T20 series II speakers were FAR AND AWAY better than any other comparable speakers on the shelves at Best Buy. It's that simple. They had both clearer highs and better bass than the others, including some with subwoofers, to the point that there wasn't even a real comparison. These speakers weren't cheap, and because I was used to speakers being free with the purchase of a new computer, I hesitated to spend more than, say, $20 on them. But after comparing the new speakers available at the store...and *especially* after comparing the T20's to the speakers they're replacing at home, I have come to accept that a reasonable amount of money spent on quality speakers can make an enormous difference with regard to how much I enjoy listening to music and watching videos on my computer. I consider their $100 cost to be money well spent.

I selected these speakers and several others both 2.0 and 2.1 styles in the $100 to $300-price range (including the 8ose) after researching online and then went to the store to hear them. I was completely disappointed in the sound quality of everything that I listened to. All of the 2.1 systems had weak highs and boomy bass. You can turn down the bass but this doesn’t compensate for the weak highs and muddy mids. I assume that they would be fine if you only listen to rap, however I listen to rock/alternative and electronic. The T20 speakers weren’t even available to listen to but I bought them simply based on the fact that they actually have a tweeter and everything else sounded so bad, so I wasn’t expecting too much. As soon as I got home I plugged in my mp3 player and was totally impressed with their sound quality considering their price and size. They exhibit crisp highs with balanced mids and lows. They will not shake your floor like a sub. The solid feel of the front mounted controls was a nice surprise too. If you appreciate a good bookshelf speaker then the T20s should be on your shopping list for computer speakers. I am very happy with them and if they had the T40s in the store I would probably go right back and upgrade because I’m sure that they are simply more of a good thing.

I like the fact that it works with anything with an earphone jack (computer, tv, mp3 player, etc.). Looks cool, sounds great. Separate bass and treble controls are a plus too. A subwoofer would have been nice but it still has good base. Speaker grilles can be removed; I leave mine off because it looks better without them.

    Spectacular Speakers!!!

For a couple of years, I burned countless CDs, so I could play them through my Onkyo stereo system--because of the dynamics of the Onkyo speakers. Then I bought a second computer, just for music; and, since it was a cheapy Compaq, I splurged on a set of Creative Labs T10 speakers (cost about $50), to service both computers. I was amazed at the quality of sound; so much so, that I bought about 40 feet of speaker wiring, so I could play music in the living room--which, of course, left me without speakers in my little computer room. So I bought the remarkable Creative Labs T20's, moved the T10's back, and disconnected the Onkyo stereo system. I've done sound comparison tests (CDs vs. direct-from-computer) and, even using the cheapy Compaq computer--because, I believe, of the quality of the T20s--there, simply, is no comparison. And, since the speakers allow you to adjust the treble and bass components (a wonderful feature!!), you are able to focus on the elements of sound you prefer. In short, if you're looking for computer speakers--for whatever purpose--look no further than Creative Labs!

Smooth & Balanced Sound in a Small Footprint

These speakers are reasonably priced and look better than the usual budget computer speakers. I had a 5.1 speaker set with a large subwoofer that after 4 years of (ab)use was having issues with it's internal amplifier. I liked the overall surround experience and strong bass, but I really need something more ACCURATE for editing audio recordings. These speakers are as perfect as I would imagine, although their T40's would have more output. These are the first speakers I have owned in 20 years that I didn't have to adjust the bass and treble at all to get an nice balanced sound with ZERO distortion turned all the way up! These sound good at everything I've tried including movies and gaming, but if you need kicking bass and/or need to fill a large room you probably need a separate subwoofer and more drivers.

    Amazing Speakers

I'm one of those people who has to have perfect sound quality, or I won't even listen to my music. I did some research and I decided that the Creative GigaWorks would be the speakers I would try next. I used to have a set of Boston Acoustics that had a subwoofer. The Creatives sound almost as good, or even as good as the 2.1 system I used to have. If you want want speakers that don't have a sub, but still have great bass, these are the ones you want. The Bass X port sounds almost the same as speakers that really do have a sub. These speakers will beat the Bose Companion 2. I was trying to decide between the Bose Companion 2 and these speakers. I'm glad I tried something different and went with the Creatives.
