If you like classic monster movies this is a must have.

This is a great restored version of the classic sci-fi horror movie that thrilled audiences in 1954 and lead to the production of many imitators. Starting Richard Carlson, Julie Adams, and Richard Denning, it set the tone for so many followers. It was one of the first films to be released in 3D as Hollywood attempted to compete with television. It was really fun to see the money the way it was originally intended to been seen. No hyper gore like in many movies today, just a decent story and acting. The extra features were quite entertaining as well.

Creature from the Black Lagoon is my favorite classic monster movie, period. The wolfman is a very close second, but there's so much to love in this movie. Essentially it's the Beauty and the Beast story, but underwater. For the time it was revolutionary for its underwater shots, but today with it converted to modern 3D it looks phenomenon. The 3D is incredible and should be in every fan's 3D library.

My wife and I have been buying most of our 3D Blu-rays from Bestbuy....mainly because they have them in stock and we can leave with the movie in hand instead of buying online. I LOVE the Creature from the Black Lagoon and the 3D is phenomenal. Beautiful depth. If you are thinking about buying it...DO IT. A must have. Just wish the other Universal Monster steelbooks were 3D as well. Thanks.

This is a decent flick with a routine story elevated by a fantastic and creepy monster suit, atmospheric and beautiful underwater photography, and the delectable Julie Adams. There's a heartfelt sympathy for the creature as his home is invaded and his love for the human girl is not reciprocated. The movie can be slow and dry at times, it's not the best of the Universal Monsters canon, but it has elements of a classic in its genre and is worth the price for a fan. The film looks superb and healthy for its age, sounds good, and the 3D is great; solid extras add value to the set.

I probably would not have bought this movie but for the great looking Alex Ross steelbook cover. I don't have a 3D TV or 3D DVD player. But when I get one you can bet this will be one of the first movies I play on it. I remember as a college student going to see this movie at a local theater in 3D. It was my first experience with 3D and it was great.

I have a dvd of the CFBL already and have watched it numerous times. I saw this 3d blu-ray version and the price and had to have it. I am a bit Bias as the CFBL is my favorit Universal Monster. I felt for a remade movie the quality was much better than my DVD version which were good. The 3b is ok but I really just wanted an upgrade version. The price was great for this also

As a kid, I was a big classic monsters fan. I still enjoy watching these films from this age gone by. The Creature From The Black Lagoon is ok of a film . Nothing equal to Frankenstein ,but a popcorn flick none the less. It was ,however for the time kind of a blockbuster of its day. You have a choice of 2D or 3D. 3D was how this film was meant to watched. Filmed in real 3D.The 3D was not done in post-production ,like done today. The Creatures claw sticks right of the screen in many times during the film. Lots of depth throughout the film,just well done. As a kid, it was a scary film, but today it's just enjoyable .Highly recommend .

Yeah this movie kept me out of the water, no pond or lake or ocean would see my feet for 3 years after watching this. This was the first time that you really thought what is REALLY down there? How do we know? Will we ever know what is hidden by time, depth and darkness of the oceans.... watch this and decide for yourself.

The Alex Ross artwork is beautiful. I'm not sure what to say about the film that hasn't already been said but it's a fantastic classic that is a must watch for any horror film enthusiasts. Definitely check out the other Alex Ross steelbooks and get em while you can! Beautiful additions to any collection.

I just love this classic monster movie it's awesome I remember watching this with my gram mother when I was a very young child it really said something to me and got me interested in Monster movies and horror movies in general

The creature from the black lagoon, as far back as I remember, this was the very first horror film that I saw was a boy. It was amazing then like it is now, blu Ray though it's like wow, the way the cleaned the film cells is amazing. This film is just incredible in every way.

This steelbook is absolutely gorgeous. The Alex Ross art really jumps from the cover. The disc sports a wonderful 3D presentation as well as a nice looking 2d version. There's a nice history of the CFTBL documentary also. Overall I highly recommend this steelbook.

Alex Ross’s art for the cover of this steelbook is a masterpiece. It perfectly captures the mood and tone of the film. Great restoration of the classic film with fun features about the history of the film, its creature, and even info on Universal Studios.

I can watch this with my Playstation VR headset and the effects are amazing especially for its time. Whether you like black and white or old monster movies is a matter of personal preference though.

One of my favorite comic book artists drew a series of Universal monsters Blu Ray covers for Best Buy only. I got The Creature From The Black Lagoon. Great art cover and this movie rocks in Blu Ray. A must have for all Universal Monster Fans.

Alex Ross is one of the most acclaimed artists out there. The Universal monsters are some of the most celebrated characters in pop culture history.. this is both in one! Loaded with special features on the disc and out; this is a must buy Best Buy!

Must see Universal Monster Movie Classic. Alex Ross out does himself on the artwork, and Best Buy outdid themselves with the packaging for the Steelbooks. Usually there is always a chance of the steelbook being damaged. this was well preserved.

Creature From The Black Lagoon on Bluray 3D is excellent. They did a outstanding job getting the visuals cleaned up on this classic. The 3D not only has a great amount of depth but also there are moments where things are reaching out of the screen. Great value.
