Criterion has done it again with a perfect transfer of a highly important film. Great extras (though wish there were even more), plus a booklet with interesting information and pictures. The cinematography in this film is beautiful and I am so glad it is presented in a manner as close as possible to how the director, cinematographer and all the creatives intended. Highly recommended!!!

We already owned Badlands on DVD, but couldn't pass this up when we saw it was a criterion collection blu ray version. Great movie, comes with a few new extras, but don't be expected to be blown away. Overall, they did a nice job and we enjoy having added this movie to our blu ray collection.

For the movie fans, I don't need to carry on with conversation. The Criterion Collection has always released the most interesting films, with the best quality, and a wonderful source of special features.

"Badlands" is the debut of writer/director Terrence Malick and it marks the beginning of his style/narrative that has become his trademark.

Terrence Malick Criterion releases are all incredible, and this was no exception. Highly recommended for any Malick OR Criterion fan.

This is a movie the fans of Criterion Collection needs to have in their collection Now I have got movies by them that is better (sound picture ……)but knowing that movie came out in the 1970s I let it slide.but everything else was ok.

This movie is really good and supported by great acting. It's one of sissy Spacek's best preformances.

A great beginning for director Terence Malick. Highly recommended.

Badlands is acclaimed director Terrence Malick's first feature, which stars Sissy Spacek and Martin Sheen. Presented by The Criterion Collection in a new high definition 4K transfer approved by Malick himself, the Blu-ray is absolutely beautiful. The detail is amazing, and the sound track sounds really great (mastered in 24-Bit). The supplements included in the Blu-ray are more than satisfactory, and they even include the original trailer in 1080p High Definition, left unrestored to give it the feel as if one had seen it in the theater back in the 70s (the film however has been digitally remastered). This is a definite must-have Blu-ray for anyone who appreciates the unparalleled art form that is film, and the beauty that Malick so much encompasses in each of his poetic visual masterpieces.

Terrence Malick's Badlands has been oft-requested in HD and has finally arrived on Criterion blu-ray. In a word, this is a masterpiece. Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek have phenomenal chemistry and 2 lost souls who find themselves on the wrong side of the law. Malick's direction moves the film along at a slow leisurely pace, but allows for the movie to pull in the audience. Excellent storytelling meets, outstanding direction with great acting. Every film lover should add this to their collection.

Movie fans have been waiting a long time for Badlands to get a decent DVD release and this Criterion collection does not disappoint. Malick's films are known for their gorgeous cinematography and this one is no exception. This Blu-ray collection is pretty much flawless and captures the lush landscapes these lovers-on-the-run come across. If you're a fan of True Romance, buy this film and it will blow you away.

A simple story told in a very simple way. Sissy Spacek and Martin Sheen are two kids on the run from the law. But when it's a Terrence Malick movie...there's more going on than the plot. Beautifully shot and designed, this is by far the most accessible Malick film (and at around 90 min also the shortest!) and most entertaining.

I've been getting into the Criterion Collection lately and had become a fan of Terrence Malick but hadn't seen this film so based on the good reviews I read and knowing the quality Criterion puts out I blind bought this and couldn't have been more pleased. What a great film and as always great cinematography.

The film is a classic, and Criterion really delivers with their release. It has the best looking transfer of Badlands I've ever seen and comes with a handful of extras that are worth watching. After having a DVD copy for years, I can say that this new blu-ray is the definitive release.

Another classic from director Terrence Malick with great acting from Sissy Spacek and Martin Sheen. Beautifully shot with sweeping panoramic views set against the story of a serial-type killer with the youthful ignorance of an earlier time. All in all a GREAT movie!

A must for Malick fans especially now that his entire filmography will be available on blu-ray (he's got a new film playing in theaters and will be made available later this year).

The presentation by the Criterion Collection is stunning. Badlands is a worthy addition to any library. The extras and restoration justify fully the slightly higher price point.

A true story in the tradition of Bonnie and Clyde. Beautifully film and told, one of my many all time favorite movies.

Great movie, Mallick's directorial debut. Great acting, the story is loosely based on the Starkweather crime spree.
