This works well but we only use it for grilling sandwiches. The two plates are reversible so you have the choice if you want the grill marks on your bread or use the flat surface instead. The plates come off easily and make it easy to clean. The "floating cover" just means the angle of it changes so it sort of adjusts to the thickness of your sandwich. It mostly works but it also may shrink the total size you can use. I would've preferred that the top portion go completely vertical instead of the diagonal way it comes down.

Being a former George Foreman grill owner I was interested in an appliance for grilling and cutting the fat and grease. This panini press didn't disappoint. It's used for every meal in my house. Even my lazy kids have gotten in on the action. Eager to fix their own quick meals from eggs and pancakes, to sandwiches and steaks. A great purchase hands down and so easy to clean.

I love this product. Grills great. I've made lots of awesome panini sandwiches. Heats up quick and cooks fast. I love it. I highly recommend.

So far have cooked stake, pork chops and fish on it and everything has turned out amazing. I have only used the grill plates and it does make the nice grill marks without all the charcoal taste, so much healthier! Also, very easy to clean at the end of each use, but simply taking off the cooking plates, sliding out the drip tray and then throwing everything into the dishwasher

I bought this press for mainly one reason, and it was to make homemade cuban sandwiches and i gotta tell you, it makes them on point, i wrap foil around the flat iron and makes the sandwich hot and press. The other benefit is that it turns into a griddle, which i have done pancakes on one side and bacon on the other.

My cousin has a restaurant where the commercial griddler is used and I always want the household version at home. I use this Cuisinart griddler mainly for contact grill of meat (Pork Chop, Beef Steak) and it works exactly like the commercial one (Fast). Cleaning of 2 plates is easy. Read Instruction thoroughly and you will be satisfied.

This was a fun grill/griddle to learn how to use. After adjusting the plates and figuring out that you have to pull the drip tray out a bit if you're using both sides it was a lot easier (and cleaner) to use. It does get a little messy if you go from grill to panini right away butt that wasn't what this was intended for so no fault of its own :)

If you don't want to pop for an optigrill this is a good second choice. Functionally the same only you have to figure out the timing of what you are cooking on your own. One thing it offers over the optigrill is you can use it flat and make eggs, pancakes etc. Very well made and priced right. I also own the optigrill so I speak from experience.

I was looking for something to replace my Forman indoor grill. Love that this Cuisinart Grill/Griddle with the easily removeable surfaces is much easier to clean and especially because it lays flat. Temp dial seems consistent to designated temp for desired results. I am happy with my choice.

Great grill. It's fast and easy. I use it twice a week. Able to cook healthy, clean food at no time at all.

This is the 2nd one we have purchased; this has been a remarkable grilling, sandwich machine. So easy to use... my family loves it.

Someone gave us one of these for our wedding and we have used it almost everyday since. It is so convinient that we decided to buy one for our friends as a wedding gift and they loved it. Easy to clean, and does not take much space in your kitchen.

This is a great gadget. Easy to clean with the removable plates.

I bought this to replace an old one I had that finally bit the bullet. This is is much more flimsy that my original one, so I'm a bit concerned how it will hold up. It does however do a good job on Chicken, fish and sandwiches, so even though I'm concerned about the quality in the long run, for now it's working fine. I like the red buttons

I usually just cook on the stovetop, but I wanted something to make paninis and other pressed or griddled foods, and this works great. I do wish it maintained higher heat for searing steaks, but that never seems to work for me. Handles everything else well though.

I was just looking for a panini press but the sales guy convinced me about the qualities and uses for this Grill/Griddle and Panini Press. I was a little concern because this cost more than what I wanted to spend, but I happily did and very glad about my purchase.

This unit is wonderful. I've used it for breakfast and lunch. Excited to use it for dinner at some point. It's easy to use as a griddle or sandwich press and makes it easy to determine temperature needs!

Great for indoor grilling!! Cooks everything very fast!! Keeps juices locked in as well!!!
