    Great indoor Grilling

I purchased the Griddler primarily to cook fish ( salmon, tilapia and halibut) and steaks for lunchtime meals for 1 or 2 people.. I wanted something that cooks fast, adjusts for varying thicknesses, cooks evenly and is easy to clean. The Griddler fits my requirements perfectly. As an added bonus, the Griddler produces a delicious grilled taste and charred appearance matched by any other grilling machine (and I've had a few) or any convection or infrared toaster size oven I've had in the past or still own. Highly recommended.

This Cuisinart grill/griddle was a very good purchase. Easy to use, easy to clean and a good performer in either mode. I first used it simply to grille a steak and it worked fine, better than my now retired George Forman grille. The advantages are that you have a choice of settings whereas the George was just plug it in and go. Next was eggs on the griddle, quick and easy with easy access for turning and no mess. The oil drain was not even a factor as I used so little there was nothing to drain, just a swipe with a paper towel and done. Overall I would definitely recommend this unit, it really is the best!

    Great for making breakfast

We've had this particular griddler for some number of years now. This includes cooking countless pancakes, french toast, hash browns, sausage, bacon and other assorted breakfast goodies. We've used it to make panini as well, but to a much lesser extent (a matter of preference, it does a great job with panini too). I can't say enough good things about it. The heat distributes extremely evenly, and never produces hot spots. The griddle plates themselves are removable (for easy cleaning) and reversible (flat vs ridges). Despite all the miles this thing has seen, the plates themselves are still in great condition. When it was on sale I bought two more, one as a replacement should it ever fail, and one as a gift. Whether it is used panino style (as a press) or opened all the way it never produces much of a mess, with excess grease/fluids finding their way perfectly into the drip tray. It cooks to perfection. Even at the hottest temperature settings, it's real hard to burn your food (ymmv depending on the food obviously). I'm no super chef, but I know my way around a kitchen just fine... I highly recommended.

I read all the reviews and there were several problems mentioned that I wasn't sure I could live with but the Deal of the Day price was so low, I took the chance. The plates don't heat to the same temperature. (I have a temperature reading tool). The grease doesn't drain well. Some stays on the plates and some gets on the counter top. Only about 2/3rds drains into the cup. It is ok at the right price but not at the retail price.

    Christmas present for my wife...

My wife let it be known that she wanted a sandwich "griller" for Christmas, and I couldn't find the little griller that she had originally suggested. BestBuy had this one on sale at just the right time (a much better griller/griddle than my wife had ask for, by the way). And, she has been singing its praises ever since. It's a great kitchen appliance, easy to use, easy to clean. We're both very happy with it.

This seemed like a good idea, but has turned out to be a GREAT IDEA! It is a really flexible appliance. Mostly, I have used it for steaks, panini's, turkey burgers and ham burgers, but it works great eggs and sausage on one side while making pancakes on the other. It is so easy to clean and looks very good on the counter top. Absolutely no problems

I'm really attached to this grill, and use it once or twice a week to cook chicken, fish, burgers, and vegetables. It's very versatile and easy to use, and I especially like the pop-out plates for ease in washing. I recently bought one for my daughter; she loves hers too.

    Reasonably Good Grill

I love a good panini. I love a good patty melt. The Cuisinart Griddler does a great job of making either. However, as an open, flat grill, making eggs is a challenge. The eggs or pancake batter will run to the back before they start congealing. Also the grill gives up a fair amount of heat while lying open as a flat top grill. This would be fine if the thermostat cycled quicker. As it is, the grill temperature fluctuates wildly.

We have really enjoyed using the panini maker. With the removable plates clean up is a breeze. We've used it for quesadillas, grilled chicken breasts, and burgers - it works great on all of those.

Even though I haven't had a chance to use the grill as of yet I truly look forward to using it for the first time. The appearance of the grill looks to be of a very high quality which is one of the reasons I buy Cuisinart products. Again looking forward to using this product.

Does the job of several small appliances and worked great for grilling pork chops and panini's. However, when I used the 'open griddle' function to make pancakes, I found that the temp had to be turned up more than the required amount to get the results I was expecting. In my case. to have the pancakes brown in a reasonable amount of time, I set the temp to 425 degrees, although the recommended temp is 350.

I bought this because I was anxious for winter to end and had a taste for a grilled burger...and this little griddler did the job right. I always make stuffed burgers and they turn out juicy every time. That is all I have used it for but I'm quite sure that all else will turn out good too!

Finally replacing the 20 + year old griddle and this looked like a good option. Instructions a little confusing about what knob controls what plate (top or bottom), but after a few uses we had it figured it. We've also purchased the waffle plates that are available for a complete setup (too bad they aren't included).

It's an over all great product, I love that you can take the grill plates off to wash them too that's what sold me on this product and the place to drain goes towred the back so the greas drainer bowl is on the bottom sticking out and you just slide it out to empty it

I love this thing! It does so many things well. I've used it as a contact grill for fish and chicken, used the griddle plates to toast pastrami sandwiches on both sides at once, used it as an open griddle for bacon, sausage and eggs, done thick panini on it and even used it as an open grill for t-bone steaks and it handled everything well. The plates pop out for easy cleaning (I just hand wash them) and the drip tray can easily handle the grease from an entire pound of bacon without overflowing. We also bought the waffle plates that fit this griddler and it makes great waffles with no sticking! It's great for making big batches of waffles, then freezing them for quick breakfasts.

I use this almost on a daily basis for a wide variety of foods. Heats up quickly and can use it as a sandwich/panini-style press but also as a griddle I can use it to make pancakes and even cook up frozen shredded hash brown potatoes on it. Removable plates are great for cleaning and are easy to snap on and off. Just a few minor design changes would make it perfect but overall very happy with purchase and has worked out great in my kitchen.

This was a random purchase but this item is very sturdy and has isolated top and bottom grills. You can grill anything straight down with the sturdy handle. Easy cleaning and you don't see the gross fat because the drip pan is kind of hidden in the back. It lays flat to be used as a large griddle for pancakes and etc. with reversible grill plates. Has both heat/temperature control and a ready light for convenience.
