Magic: The Gathering meets Monopoly

Culdcept Revolt is a game that combines the deep strategy and deck-building of a trading card game, the real estate prowess needed in Monopoly, and the luck of a good dice roll. In this game, you fight opponents on a game board with differently colored spaces (that represent land types) and "gates", that function as checkpoints. The goal is to land on spaces, place monsters on them to protect them, build those spaces up, and collect a toll from players who land on those spaces. The monsters function as protectors of your lands - if your opponent's monster defeats yours, your opponent will capture your land, which is not good. You can equip your monsters with a variety of items to help buff up their stats so they can survive the attack and protect the land - but doing so removes the item from further play in the round. The main goal in a round is to reach a certain amount of points and get across the gate before your opponent(s). There's a story involved too - but the real fun is getting new cards to use and building that perfect deck to defeat your opponents. After a certain point in the story, you can access online multiplayer. I've not played the multiplayer, so I won't comment on it other than to say that it exists. The only downsides to this game are that battles can easily go for 30 minutes or more, which is not good if you want to play in short bursts. In addition, movement is decided by dice rolls, and if the randomness is not in your favor, you can easily lose a big lead because you kept getting low rolls. Overall, this game is a blast to play if you like strategy and don't mind a bit of randomness.

Culdcept Revolt is basically Monopoly fused with TCGs (Trading Card Games) like Magic The Gathering. In terms of the "Monopoly" aspect of the game, you battle opponents on a board (there are many different ones) and move your piece/avatar around to claim tiles by placing your monsters on them. If opponents land on your tiles, they can choose to battle the monster or pay the value of the tile. In terms of the "TCG" aspect of the game, you can draw cards like items, spells, and monsters. Monsters are used to claim tiles or battle other monsters on a claimed tile. Items are used to enhance or give some sort of advantage when you battle monsters. Spells vary and can affect many different aspects/mechanics of the game. The game also does have online multiplayer to play with friends, but I have yet to try it myself.
With the introduction of the TCG element, your decisions have more influence over the outcome than luck does. Luck still does affect the game, but I feel it is greatly reduced. This is what makes the game more interesting. It kind of reminds me of similar series like "Fortune Street" or "Dokapon Kingdom". Those games were fun in their own right but I do prefer less luck and more skill based games.
This is definitely one of those hidden gems. I've never heard of this game series until this game was announced, but it turns out they had several releases for several systems in the past.
I have been playing this game quite regularly since release date and have become slightly addicted to it. It tailors more to a niche audience, so I'd recommend trying it first and then buying it if you like it.

Taking elements from Monopoly and Magic: The Gathering, this 20-year-old classic is just fantastic. Tons of new concepts introduced,
some to (finally) speed up the single player matches - by a LOT. Easily play through a round in 10-15 minutes, now. Add onto that customer Evo cards, card acquisition methods that now encourage a player to finish a losing match, and online multiplayer, just to name a few! Worth the purchase!

I've never played a game like this before so I really don't have a lot to compare it to. Think Hearthstone meets Candyland (yes, the board game) and you have a fairly good idea of what this entails. In a year when everything is trying so hard to be the next Overwatch or Destiny, Culdcept Revolt is a great breath of fresh air.

some people call this a niche game, but anyone who enjoys board games and fantasy/magic card games will be hooked...for weeks. People who don't like this game complain that there is randomness/luck involved. That's a true statement for board games and card games. But you make your deck and play your hand. Sure, there is some luck involved, but careful planning and skill will overcome bad luck. the amount and variety of cards, from items to magic to creatures, means you can create a powerful deck that favors your playstyle. there is multiplayer, but unfortunately, each player needs their own game.

If you are not familiar with the culd pet series it is a mix of a card game and board game. It is monopoly meets magic the gathering. It has a good campaign and great multiplayer.
There are lots of cards to use and customize your deck with.

After waiting many years for the next Culdcept, this one delivers on the gameplay and everything one could hope from it. Some kind of crossover of Monopoly and Magic the Gathering, it is easy to pick up and put down wherever kind of game.

They say this game is like Monopoly mixed with Magic the Gathering, and it is, but its more so Monopoly than anything else and when you mix in cards, it just makes for a huge and confusing learning curve. Once you get past that, the game becomes addictive, especially when you end up unlocking all of the menu items.

Great game for those looking to play the love child of Magic the Gathering and Monopoly. The opponent (and ally) AI is sometimes iffy in their decisions, but I suppose humans make those mistakes too, so NBD. Good game, would recommend.

Culdcept mixes elements of classic board games and collectible card games into a strategy game that is great laid-back fun with friends. All of the cards in the game are available without any microtransactions, a refreshing change of pace in the current lootbox filled video game market.

I loved the original when it first came out. This sequel has some new features and small changes that aren't jarring and keep the game fresh. If you liked anything about the first game you will love the second installment.
