Bret Michaels brings some Hard Rock, Country Rock and a Club Mix song to the Rock 'N' Roll table with "Custom Built". It's a diverse listen into the Rockin' mind and soul of Bret Michaels... he has made an album of songs here that are well worth giving an approving nod to. Just don't expect the Hard Rock sound of Poison to explode from "Custom Built", just expect songs that are mainstream accessible and pretty memorable at the same time. Bret Michaels can sing Country, he mixes in his flare for Country Rock almost seamlessly. The huge hit "Nothing To Lose" with Miley Cyrus is here, yet "Rock' N My Country" and "I'd Die For You" are two songs that are even bigger hits for me. I don't personally care for the Club Mix of "Go That Far", still there certainly will be fans that will. I just don't see this song "fitting in" with what "Custom Built" is actually "built" on. Fans of Bret Michaels should embrace "Custom Built" and Hard Rock fans with an open mind for a diverse detour of good ol' Rock 'N' Roll might just jump up and down to "Custom Built" as well.
