If youve been following up with the debacle of this game, you already know if you own a base console this is not for you. If you have a ps4 pro, and okay with the game running on 30fps, this game is very very fun. You WILL have to endure countless bugs, but if you can sit through them, this game has a great story and very memorable characters.

This is a great game that needs some polishing. I read the reviews before buying, and trust me, there was a lot out there to review, and I was aware of the bugs. After playing for a few hours now on my base PS4, I have seen these bugs for myself. Random characters stand in T-poses, my motorcycle got stuck in a wall when I bumped into it, the storyline consistently shows glitches that get sort of annoying but aren’t game breaking, and the frame rates drop as you travel throughout the city on foot and in vehicle. However, with all of that being said, I do enjoy this game. The story line is interesting and the overall game has an essence that seems exciting and new! Should the game have been released when it did? No. Should they have taken more time to fix the bugs before selling it to the general public? Absolutely! Overall, if you are eager to get this game and see for yourself what all of the hype is about like I was, you might also find a game that you enjoy like I have. Just be prepared to withstand the bugs until CDPR fixes them in the coming months with the patches they continue to and plan to release.

It's safe to safe Cyberpunk 2077 launched to a very, very rough start. Tons of glitches and performance issues. It shouldn't have been on base Xbox one or PS4 consoles. With new updates, it finally is the polished game everyone anticipated. Even moreso on Xbox Series X and PS5. At the price point it is at now, it's an absolute steal with a ton of gameplay value and customization. Set in a very real-like world, all of your choices have an impact on the story and characters around you. The cyberpunk feel adds a ton of characater. The character you envision is exactly the character you can be and make. Well worth purchasing now

The story, gameplay, characters and the world are fun, but there are numerous crashes and the game obviously needed way more time in development to iron out the many issues it has. Don't compare to the Witcher 3. Witcher is way higher quality in all aspects. Best Buy delivery guaranteed it on the 11th. I didn't get it until the 22nd. They claimed there was nothing they could do to expedite it. Poor experience all around.

I know there are a plethora of issues facing those players playing this game on a base PS4. My experience here has been on a PS4 Pro. I love Role-Playing games more than any other genre and have been excited for Cyberpunk since announcement. Even with all the delays, I still was happy to wait as long as I did to get a polished and finished product. That was not what I got. Even with the day one patch, I have seen some problems and small glitches here and there in my game. Occasional pop-in, but very rare. Nothing super challenging to the story except for one point where a briefcase I needed to interact with was in the floor so I had to spend 5 minutes lining up with the floor in exactly the right spot to interact with it. I still have yet to finish it though. The story and character creation is something I do fully enjoy though and have not seen in many other games. I personally love futuristic style games and the choices you get to make really do show in your playthrough.

Great game it did have some issues at start but the story and play are good. I had a real good time with the game I did purchase way after launch and some patches it was a great price when I got it.

I find it unplayable even on the ps5, suffer from bugs/stupid AI and can’t finish 2 missions w/o crashing. GTA5 is a much better game overall. Don’t get me wrong, cyberpunk have great potential(interesting story). Is a shame the publisher rushed it for the console version.

Crashes, deathloops and glitches hindered the game. Story wasn't awful, but it definitely wasn't that great either. I wouldn't play it on old gen consoles will not play well no matter what.

First and foremost, I’m playing on a PS4 pro. Story is fantastic, I love it. Graphics wise, game is good and sure it has some technical issues here and there, specifically when driving, the games textures get all wonky for couple seconds and then it goes back to normal. I have experienced the occasional crash but it seems to happen when I play over 3 hours at a time, which is easy to do since you get so invested in the story. The game has gotten better with each update that CDPR has done for Cyberpunk and I’m sure it will continue as the game keeps getting updated. For those that have a regular PS4, I’d say hold out till an updated review comes out knowing that game runs much better. Those with a Pro, PS5 or high end PC, get the game and enjoy.

The story of the game and the characters, as well of the environments are fantastic. However, if you are planning to buy this game on last gen consoles, I would STRONGLY advise that you hold off for a few months. As it is, the game is very buggy at launch with numerous glitches and performance issues. Will these issues eventually be ironed out and fixed with patches? Yes, I have no doubt. When it happens, the game will be great. Until then, I would hold off on this purchase. Should you decide to go ahead with the purchase anyway, you will have fun, but be forewarned.

    Currently Broken

Let's get this right out of the gate here, CB2077 is broken on base PS4 and only moderately better on Pro. The game crashes, has low and inconsistent framerates, texture issues, scripting issues...there isn't a single part of this game I didn't have some kind of issue with. Some of these are fixable, others might not be. The story is probably the one highlight here, it's interesting if not anything you haven't seen before. The world itself is nice to look at, with all the grit and neon you'd expect. The hi vs low tech juxtaposition is well represented too. The biggest issue here is that the world is just devoid of any real character, nothing interesting happens in it outside of main story missions. Graphically, on base PS4 it's a mess (do not buy it on base PS4), I played on a Pro, where resolution was better, and overall quality was about what I expected for such an old system. Framerates dipped a lot though, making it hard to aim, drive, or anything requiring precision. Shooting feels serviceable when it's running properly, and you have cybernetics too, but the AI is terrible and most encounters don't require more than shoot/cover/repeat. You get tons of weapon drops, but they all feel roughly the same, even with mods. Customization is a huge letdown, you have an initial preset pallet with extremely limited and similar looking options, and every character winds up looking like it was made of pasted together assets instead of a real person (like one of the major NPC's for example). You can't change it later and you don't unlock more options beyond clothing, most of which is just boring to look at. My biggest complaint is that this was supposed to be a 'play your way' RPG, yet any playstyle outside of outright guns blazing is broken or just not fun. Melee is awful and has no impact, stealth is too light switch-y and glitchy to be rewarding, non lethal is a victim of this as well. Conversational perks may slightly alter how cutscenes play out, but the end result will still be the same. Hacking, too, seems to be an afterthought. The hacking minigame itself is just a boring cluster of numbers, the options on offer for situational hacking just come down to distract, turn off cameras, or cause minor amounts of damage. And criminally, none of them are fun to use. It basically amounts to hitting a menu button, and you rarely get any satisfying outcome. Compared to something like Deus Ex, where your augs had real time applications like punching through walls or unleashing massive explosions, or turning enemies against each other while you sneak by, or even opening up alternate pathways, 2077 just feels barebones. Even the maligned Syndicate FPS reboot made hacking feel more brutal and impactful than anything on offer here. Intro missions are short and irrelevant, glitches are abundant, the world is lifeless with cookie cutter NPC's, bad AI, and just a genuine disappointment for what took so long to develop. Maybe it gets better 20 or 30 hours in, maybe they'll fix all the bugs, maybe the DLC will be good, but that's a lot of maybe's for something I spent 60 dollars on. "If it aint' good now, why should I wait for later?" Save some money, buy Deus Ex: Human Revolution/Mankind Divided, or just replay Bioshock or System Shock for your immersive "-punk" fix.

As the game stands right now, I'm giving it 4/5 stars. Mainly just taking a star off because of the bugs. Once these get ironed out in a few patches, and once the game has some free DLC added in, it will for sure be a 5/5 star game. No doubt about it. I am playing it on a PlayStation 4 Pro. I have heard horror stories about how it preforms on a base PS4, so you might wait until a few more updates before buying it, if you plan to play on one of those. However, if you plan to play it on a PS4 Pro (or even a PS5), then don't be scared away by all the negativity. I have only experienced one crash so far, in the almost 20 hours I have sunk into it so far. Sure, I also experience some other minor things; such as people walking into walls, objects people were holding floating in the air, some minor objects not being lootable, a game stutter here and there (frame rate drop), cars levitating a bit off the ground, etc. If you've played a recent Fallout or Elder Scrolls title at launch, you pretty much know what to expect there, as far as commonly seen bugs go. Bugs aside, the game is great. The story is pretty solid. Nothing groundbreaking (at least not that I've experience so far) but far from terrible. There are three different "paths" you can choose to start out with, each having a pretty unique prologue. Each opens up some different dialog options later on in the game. Nice little touch. The game definitely lives up to being a "mature" game. It's pretty dark and gritty. Quite a bit of nudity (you can choose to skip some nudity in the options). Character creation is pretty good. Nothing too over-the-top, when it comes to things like all sorts of different sliders to fully customize your character, but you can still make a pretty unique character. The graphics on a PS4 Pro are pretty good. I hear the game runs even better on a PS5, but I can't personally speak on that. The gameplay is pretty good. The FPS combat is nothing to write home about, but it definitely isn't bad. Just nothing too new. However you do have other abilities you can use, such as scanning enemies for more information or even hacking their implants or nearby objects. You can play the game stealthy or go in guns blazing, I haven't run into any missions yet that made you play one way over the other. Like in typical RPGs, you earn experience and level up. When you level up, you can put a point into one of your 5 base attributes and a point into one of the perk skill trees, tied to one of the base attributes. Also you can level up perks by doing stuff in-game. Like, for example, using SMGs and assault rifles, and fighting behind cover, will give you XP into your "Assault" perk, and level it up. Leveling up these perks gives you skill progression rewards, such as more perk points as well as minor upgrades (like increased armor, for example). Overall, I would say if you are really wanting to give this game a try, then do it. Don't be scared off by the negativity. There has already been quite a few patches that has improved the game a lot. However, if you aren't too sure, then wait for a few more updates, maybe a decent sale, and then pick it up. Like I said, with a few more updates and some free DLC (free DLC already confirmed coming as early as in a few months), this game will definitely be up there as one of the best, IMO.

By now most folks know about the state of this game on consoles. Playing on a PS5 the game is passable. Textures are rough, pop-in is significant in almost every area, and boy does this game love to crash. There has not been a single evening I’ve been able to play this game without a hard crash back to the PS home screen. As far as the content for the game, there is plenty to do. The gunplay/combat can be a riot once you level a bit, and the story has some intriguing hooks. Keanu Reeves guiding your journey is a lot of fun, and adds a nice layer of complexity and interactivity that you don’t often get. It’s fun listening to banter between the main character V and Johnny Silverhands (Keanu). With that said, it’s often difficult to get fully invested in the story when the immersion is broken every few minutes by bugs and crashes. Some players may be lucky and not experience as much as I have, but I can only speak from my own experiences. My best advice would be to hang tight on this release, especially on a last gen system. I’m sure CDPR will have the bugs ironed out and graphics optimized within a few minutes. This company has a very good history of going above and beyond for their games, and I’m certain they will get Cyberpunk where it deserves to be. Plenty of other releases to tide you over right now, and I think if you can wait to play this game in its best form it will absolutely be worth the price of admission.

I'd give this 5 stars if it weren't for the release. I'm playing on PS4 Pro and it's a great game with a good story and an atmosphere that I truly enjoy. Generally the game play is engaging, definitely some missteps but it's fun. I see a lot of potential for growth here, which is why I'm not giving it 5 stars. Well that and some of the bugs and crashing. Neither of which have happened often for me. Nothing game breaking unlike other reviews, but for all I know I'm just lucky. I finished the game out and did 5 of the endings. Just for the storytelling I think it's worth it. Not at full price mind you, but there is a lot to enjoy here.

I bought this game when it came out, I wasn't on the hype train for the long haul of it but I was excited for it at launch. I played it (at launch) on a PS5 and the game Crashed 17 times in the first two weeks. Several of those times it shut my brand new console off. So I did what any sensible person would do and I traded it back in for as much store credit as I could get. I RE-bought this game because it was on sale for $10. It's still a broken mess. I'll give it a fair rating because the story has a lot of potential to it and there were moments where I wanted to connect with characters, but the game is such a mess in every other aspect it's hard to enjoy.

When I first purchased this game it was having quite a lot of issues running on pretty much everything, especially PS4. Since then there has been several updates as well as an expansion along with a free PS5 digital game upgrade (just keep the disc). For what I paid, $10, was a great deal, but I'd recommend this to anyone who loves western RPGs and the cyberpunk/bladerunner aesthetic.

I was looking forward to this title like many of us were, good game but not great. Very buggy, but very cool, huge open world, decent story. I look forward when all the bugs are squashed and then I will revisit and hopefully give it higher score.
