Good game, but falls short of the hype.
Amazing graphics if you have the hardware. Game itself is decent, story is good, open-world but everything outside of quests just feels dead. AI feels last gen, bugs everywhere.

I love the story but the game is tanked with glitches and very terrible AI. Gameplay is good at most points but there are still complications with the occasional glitches.

I had fun playing Cyberpunk and finished one playthrough straight through, but it feels like a lot of features were cut. It was advertised as this multi-path RPG, but neither your choices throughout the game nor the life path you pick in the beginning have any impact on the story. It all culminates into an A, B, or C ending that has little bearing on previous choices (some are unlocked by side quests). The story is disappointingly linear. It's a good action adventure but a pale RPG.
As it is now, the game is very buggy. Enemy and driving AI is also very lackluster. There are just a lot of flaws that need fixing.
The saving grace is the characters. Without spoiling, I'll just say they're very interesting and fun to interact with (but the male romance options aren't as developed or interesting as the female ones if you were hoping for that).
I played as female voice V, and Cherami Leigh makes the protag so cool. The performances are amazing overall, minus one very jarring celebrity cameo from a musician whose bad acting made me skip through her dialogue. Keanu Reeves is great as Johnny, but most of the budget was spent on marketing and celebrities, and the game suffers for it.
tldr; Cyberbunk is disappointing and not what was marketed or hyped. Unfinished and buggy. But it was still fun to cruise through for the characters and combat. If they fix the more serious issues, this game would become a 4/5.

A good, but flawed game at release (December 2020)

Important Note: This review is based on the version 1.04 (December 2020) of the game on PC.
The game is buggy, at times very buggy, but on PC most of those bugs have been minor, geometry and character model issues, physics issues when interacting with the terrain, etc. and have not prevented me from enjoying and progressing in the game.
The graphics are quite good, with the proper hardware (I'm running on a modern Ryzen 3900X CPU, NVIDIA 2080 Super video card and SSD storage), although ray tracing isn't that great compared to some other games where it was implemented - I ended up turning it off and the game looks better overall, at least to me it does - opinions may vary. The performance is very good on the above hardware, I've never noticed any frame rate or graphical issues.
The game play is not revolutionary, each of the systems individually is just a refinement on some aspect of another game, whether that would be the character attribute/skill/talent system, the gun play and stealth elements or the storytelling - you've probably seen similar things done in other games but overall, all of the elements are woven together to provide a pretty good experience. There are some design decisions I personally don't like, things I think could have been done better, but overall it is a good game - on a modern PC, or next year on a modern console when the PS5 and XBOX Series X optimized versions are released. On current gen consoles, only the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X are playable, but still not up to the quality they should have been and people have come to expect from CDPR.
I would recommend this game to people with modern PCs in its current state and, given 6-12 months for refinements, I'd recommend it to anyone on any platform except for base PS4 and base Xbox One consoles - I can see them getting the game working better, but you still won't get anything close to what you were expecting out of the game on those systems, I just don't see it being technically possible. If you like first person games with a blend of FPS, RPG, stealth and open world then you'll enjoy this game - the main story is good and some of the NPCs and side missions are quite memorable and make for an enjoyable experience.

Great game, really enjoying it but it is rather buggy. It's also a bit hard to run for higher end systems as well (using a R7 2700 and 2080 Super).
Story is well done and I'm truly enjoying the gameplay, BUT I'm not crashing after doing missions which is a bit annoying but each patch seems to help smooth out the experience.
I'm sure once they finish with the bug spray it will be worth 5 stars

This game isn’t the easiest to run on a PC, so make sure you check the system requirements before buying, but if you’re able to run it, you’ll find an engaging story with gameplay that allows you to tailor to how you want to play. I also experienced a fair amount of bugs throughout, but nothing that stopped me from enjoying, or progressing through the game

C A U T I O N: This game is not a pure action adventure game ala GTA. This is an open-world RPG ala Elder Scrolls or Dungeons N' Dragons.
The story and the characters are well written and flushed out, and they make you care a lot about them. The romances, while a bit brief and limited in options, are fantastic. The city is its own beautiful character that leaves you in awe, but only at the highest graphic settings with ray tracing. Gameplay mechanics like skills and abilities feel very tabletop RPG-like at the core, since that's exactly what this is an adaptation of. If you've grown a bit tired of the Medieval setting of DnD but still love the gameplay style of DnD, this is probably for you. At the moment of typing, its riddled with bugs and glitches. Even with that, there's something amazing to the design of this game and everyone should at least try it out.
Hands down, the best game I've ever played.

Overall, the game, when it works, is amazing. The map is full of live and secrets, while the story is immersive and spot on. Though the driving is wonky and slow and the combat is pretty clunky, the optimization of the this is bad. Its playable, but it can and should have been released in a better state.

Playing on a 3080 and r5 3600x. DLSS is a must have. With it, I'm getting a constant 60+ fps on 1440p using Digital Foundry's optimized settings. There are many, many, bugs and glitches but beyond that is a game with a great story and even greater sidequests in my opinion.

OK, there are a ton of reviews of Cyberpunk 2077, I will chime in my two cents worth on top of all that's out there. First, it's fun game. Running around as an FPS with some RPG elements. On a computer with good stats, it runs well. I experienced some bugs, but nothing bad vs many other releases in recent years (like Fallout 4). Most glitches were laughable. Some required a reload. So, as it is it's not bad. The problem it that it could have been so much more. The RPG elements are light, at best. The main storyline is short (IMO). The world is interesting but failed to be immersive that it was promised to be. I hope that future patches and maybe DLC's might continue to polish this game. If you're really hoping for a good RPG, I would rate this more as a 3 star than a 4.
Do be aware that console players report many more glitches. Those buyers are cautioned to be aware of problems.

Cyberpunk 2077 review

First I would like to say that the Best Buy company did a great job on delivering my order with efficiency and transparency. The additional items from my order of Cyberpunk 2077 (the metal game case, and HBO Max Trial) were pleasant bonuses that I did not expect.
Now with the game Cyberpunk 2077, I was fortunate enough to not encounter bugs that broke the gameplay on my HP Spectre x360 Convertible (which was also purchased from Best Buy). My summary is that the game content does not match the hyped expectations that have been marketed for years by CD Project. Though it doesn’t feel as immersive as other games it is enjoyable from a minimum bugged experience. At it’s current condition is not worth $60. I’d recommend getting it when it is on a sale and (depending on what platform you’ll play it ) after the major bugs are finally fixed. A 3/5 average game rating from my individual experience. For a bit more detail continue reading.
Despite my luck of gameplay performance, the long-term marketing of Cyberpunk 2077 that hyped about game-changing expectations of an immersive world hurt the game a bit when released. The combat system is nothing new to other first person games but good. A similar opinion to the crafting and customization system for your character and weapons too. The main story and characters are intriguing enough to keep you playing just to find out more about them or what happens next. The side content in Night City is unpredictable (in a good way) but a bit overwhelming to sort through. And the loot keeps you wondering if what cool gear you’ll pick up or comparable items to sell for eddies. Yet the role-playing exploration outside of the main story’s scripted gameplay scenes are absent or lackluster to me (compared to other works from CD Project and other game studios). Rather than wanting to walk through each street of Night City to just enjoy the work that CD Project did I felt more inclined to travel from the nearest mission blip on the map to the next. The additional content outside the game such as the digital comic books, concept art book, and wall papers are very cool and tbh one of the things I enjoyed the most going through my purchase. Thus, the goal that CD Project tried to accomplish of an immersive, organic city is an admirable one the I was rooting for. Yet, the studio’s faulted execution soured my view and interest of the game as a triple A game.

I was laying up in a Hospital bed when I ordered this game from BestBuy using my Smartphone. I wanted the PC version. When I finally got home installed this to my system( Asus 970Pro Gaming Motherboard with FX8350 and Asus Strix GTX 1080 graphic card.)AS you can see this is not an up to date system but boy does the game look absolutely gorgeous!!
I encountered about 2 glitches and after restart no more hiccups.
I made an exception in purchasing this game at its Sixty dollar price as I gave myself a policy sometime ago not to pay that much for a video game since Call of Duty Black OPs came out.
I will probably get an Xbox copy by Black Friday 2021

really fun game and lots of details, but CD project mislead a lot of us, and this was one of the first games I bought in years because of the gameplay and how they said you would interact in the game, but turns out that's a lot of phony BS they just marketing up the game. The game has some of the greatest details that you can get lost for hours, but the draw back is the bugs and horrible AI in the game. everyone does the same thing, reacts horribly to the surroundings and they feel so worst that GTA 5 which came out 10 years ago, and that is a pretty big disappointment in 2020, I had very high hopes for this game, but I cant even change my hair style or how I look after the beginning of the game, which sucks because how can you talk about all these cool customizations but you cant even custom your character after you start.

This is one of my favorite games ever. With that being said, I returned my copy for Xbox to get it on PC because of the performance issues. Make sure you either have a computer that can handle it or be accepting of the current bugs the game has.
Since this is a PC review I will give it the 5 stars I feel it deserves, based on my experience and what I enjoy in a game.
Now, the graphics are amazing, but the best part of the game to me is the storytelling. I am so immersed and want to read everything I find because the setting is so captivating.
It's awesome how you can play with any playstyle. If you want to use a pistol the whole game you can, samurai hacker, gun specialist, stealth stalker, whatever you're into, it's there. Slight vibes of Bioshock or dishonored in regards to the combat.
Character creation is not as expansive as other rpgs, but I still enjoyed it and got what I wanted from it. If you're looking to spend 5 hours building a character I don't think you'll find it here.
Cyberpunk really is a game to enjoy your time with, not rush through. If you're looking for something to speed through you might not enjoy it as much because I've heard people beating it around lvl 20 when the max lvl is 50 but I'm not even halfway through the main story and am lvl 21.
REMEMBER, this is an RPG, not GTA. This game is much more similar to fallout. There are physics in the game that can't compare to GTA and you should not have that expectation.
Side note: I did not like the Witcher 3 but I can't put this game down. Maybe that will help in your decision if you weren't a fan of TW3 like myself.
It's unfortunate because I wish everyone could experience this game the way I am. Hopefully performance issues will be fixed.

There's a great game beneath the bugs

There's a great game here beneath the bugs and poor optimization. While the atmosphere and feel can shine through the glitches, I think this game will really bloom over the course of the next year with forthcoming patches and bug fixes.
What's there is currently enjoyable as long as you temper yourself for a GTA-style open world (e.g. shallow NPCs, limited interactivity) rather than a Skyrim/Fallout-esque world. The side quests and gigs have all been fairly enjoyable while I think the main quest has a habit of falling into some forgettable tropes.
I think Cyberpunk 2077 fell victim to its own hype and will end up being a much better game with time and TLC.

Day one releases tend to be a little buggy nowadays since the transition from ready to play games to update as you go games. Not that I advocate for it but there is some effort to fix the errors.
That being said, I understand the frustration many have with the bugs and optimization issues. For console owners, and i own one as well as a PC, im sorry but this game was never gonna run well on a console. Knowing this, I got it on PC.
The preorder came with a steelbook case and all the physical and digital goodies like the map, stickers, etc... and digital content in addition to what GOG was giving out. The case I got is beautiful and represents The Maelstroms.
Installation via download through GOG was as expected with a lengthy time running at avg 9mbps. Day one glitches to my extent was a floating npc in a seated position.
Initial gameplay was deceptive in terms of framerates as the menu and customization ran at a solid 90fps on a 1080ti at native 4k with med/high only to get smashed to 32fps once you actually start the game. There is an option to adjust resolution scaling for non DLSS gpus. I will say, i run this game at 1080p ultra settings 60fps as opposed to 4k 40 fps and I can say that it still looks amazing, but maybe thats wishful thinking.
The environment in the games are realistic and beautiful. The characters are likeable but I cant speak much as I have not gone that far in the game. Combat is fun with different approaches to take but i would recommend a mouse and keyboard unless you are fond of auto aim for controllers.
All in all, I enjoy this game but thats only because I like the idea of neon cities and futuristic sci-fi adventures. Also because it runs fine on my PC so I cant complain. Your experience may vary but here are my specs so you can see where you stand running on a 4K TV.

The game is overall a lot of fun and I enjoyed the story but it is still a pretty buggy affair. Far more playable than console but I'd wait for this one to get fixed and I can see it being a much better experience.

This game is amazing, if you can get pass all the bugs and glitches. The good news is that the team is actively working on fixing these bugs, though personally I'm going to stop playing until after the next 2 major patches that they announced (after 02/2021). Do note that you'll need a high-end PC build to play this game, unless graphics/ray tracing is not your priority. The Nvidia 3080 (if you can get one) is your best bet if you want to play in high settings with 70-80FPS, although 3070 is reasonable.
