Customers are satisfied with the price range, temperature control, and design of the 38-Bottle Wine Cellar. They appreciate that it has two temperature zones for keeping both red and white wines at their ideal temperatures and that it fits well with their kitchen decor. However, some customers have mentioned that it can be noisy and that it is a little tight for the advertised number of bottles.

Very Good for the Price

The Danby 38-Bottle Cooler is a very good product for the price. The two zones work well and air seems to circulate evenly throughout the cooler. With careful maneuvering, 38 750 ML wine bottles will fit. Champagne and Riesling bottles, however, will not fit. When fully stocked, the wood shelves, which are slightly flimsy/fragile, become heavy and difficult to slide open. Blue LED comes on when the door is open creating a nice effect.

I got this to store our wine as it's getting too hot outside and ruining the wine since we don't like using the AC in the house. I got a damaged one when i ordered it, but Bestbuy immediately sent another one. Thank you Bestbuy! Second one had a slight dent on the door handle which is very minor and i didn't want to trouble them again.
Works just fine so far. But be careful when you close the door, sometimes it comes off. So double make sure it is closed properly. Racks are small, so will only fit certain wine bottles, some companies make it little broader even for a 750ml, those will not fit in as racks are very tight and you might feel they could break. Champagne bottles will not fit in this, which sucks. and i wish they had made the dual zone how you want it, i mean in Summer we love drinking White, Rose or Champagne and you can only fit White wines on top two racks as temperature can only be set for those type of wines. Bottom racks are for Red and there are 4 racks. And we don't drink Red in Summer but only in Winter. I wish it was designed where we could set temperatures however we want according to the consumption which goes with the weather which lets us store more in either of those zones how we want. But other than this, i am happy i got this as my wines are now stored in perfect temperature than being out side in hot temperature.

Wish door sensor was not on the bottom.

The dual temp control works great, the wooden trays are well made. the bottom 2 shelves for the red section aren't as long as the rest. The top shelves for the white and red sections have more room which is nice. The top white section is extra large for bubbles. Due to the door sensor you can't place it on any carpet, even flush carpet it will drag the small plate on the door that presses the sensor button. The legs are adjustable but only a very small amount. Be advised for use on hard floors only. Otherwise the wine cooler is great.

So far so good (two months). First one picked up at the store had damage to the handle. Returned easily for one without any defects. Looks very nice. You do have to work to get the bottles in there. Not quite sure on the upper limit, but above 30 seems like a stretch. The bottom two shelves are not full length, so I thought you had to put the bottles in sideways. You can in fact fit some bottles regularly which will leave the shelf protruding about an inch. The door will still close securely around this with the shelf fitting into the recess inside the rubber stripping. Pinots fit on the top shelf. Haven't tried champagne bottles. Agree the shelf material is flimsy, but it looks nice. The blue light is adjustable: we have it on only when the door is open (vs all the time). Temperature is easy to adjust. Noise is satisfactory. I was very concerned about this because the cooler is immediately behind my seat on the couch in a house with hardwood floors. I am the only one neurotic enough to notice when the compressor kicks on, but it doesn't bother me. Wife & kids don't notice it. Overall pleased with the purchase. Will update review if that changes.

Solid wine fridge with a few details overlooked

Overall, I'm very pleased with this fridge. It's quiet and looks very high-end. There are a few minor annoyances though:
- The magnet that secures the door shut isn't very strong, so it usually bounces open if you're not careful when you shut it.
- The shelves are just a little too close together and it takes some work getting 750ml bottles out. You'll have to remove a shelf if you want to store magnums.
- It randomly makes a popping noise. I think this is due to one of the body moving with temperature fluctuations but it's kind of annoying.
That said, I'm still giving this one four stars because minor issues aside, this is a really good fridge.

Very nice unit for the price, my only complaint is the energy rating on the product is certainly not efficient! The shelves could be made a little better.
Overall I would buy it again!

Working fine so far after 3 months

I would tell anyone reading this review that the fridge really doesn't hold 38 bottles, despite the marketing literature. Too many bottles are odd shaped these days, making this fridge have less capacity. I got 34 bottles into the fridge and that was pushing it. Mechanically, it seems to be functioning fine after 3 months.

Does a good job keeping wine chilled at two different temperature. The compressor clicks on about every 10 minutes for about 45 seconds so it can be a little annoying but for price I see this wine cooler as very good value

Perfect for my Craft Beer Collection

I bought this Wine Cellar for my craft beer collection since it had taken over our primary fridge. I was able to squeeze over 70 different beers into it.
The top section (that can reach a low temp of 41 degrees was ideal for my IPAs, and the bottom section that reaches a tamp of 50 degrees was perfect for my stouts and other darker beers.
This fridge is exactly what I wanted it to be.
The only reason for the 4 star review was that upon unpackaging the item, I saw a dent on the top of the fridge. It wasn't a deal breaker... Definitely not worth lugging the fridge back to the store for an exchange... but just an unfortunate situation.

Just One Small Complaint

I pretty much like everything about this product: the value for the price, how it looks and how it functions. My only complaint is that when I first purchased it, it emitted a very strong odor. Fortunately, that has dissipated over time.

I like my red wines room temp and my beer cold so it works perfectly to use the bottom zone for our white wines and top cooler zone for bottled beer. It looks great with our other stainless appliances. And it runs really quite as well.

The racks do not accommodate non standard size bottles, and I don't mean magnums. The dual, zone does not adjust properly for a lower white temperature. It's ok for a starter cooler, you get what you pay for and mine arrived dented just like everyone's else's I saw the review

Both sections of the cooler are keeping the correct temperature.
I was able to get 38 bottles in too. Some of the bottles had to go on a particular shelf but it was not a problem for me.
I have been wanting one with the dual zones for quite a while and I am very pleased with this Danby Wine Cellar.

The unit cools well. A little tight for bottles. This is the loudest appliance in the home. Its ok being in the Kitchen but you will hear it over all other devices. For the price range I would buy again.

Have looked at a wine refrigerator for many years and kept getting scared at the high prices. This one fit the bill and foes a wonderful job. Even though it says it holds 38-bottles. The various sizes and shapes of 750ml bottles will limit the quantity by a few.

I got a great price on this wine cooler $270 shipped. The first one I received arrived damaged, so I returned to the Best Buy in Orland Park, IL and they ordered a second one at the same price. I received the replacement in a few days and have had it over a month now. I can fit 32 bottles plus 2 Champaign. Looks nice, price was right and after a month is running great.

This wine refrigerator was priced about the same as many of the single temp models I was looking at. Great looking unit, love the wood shelves, a little tight but holds close to advertised number.
