Good game, plays different then the previous game

I have been a big fan of this series since the first game came out. each game has played different the other and that is the same for this game.
This game is much more difficult then the other two game and in the beginning seem very limited with combat. After about an hour of game-play you get your first power up that helps with the combat as up until this point you have only really had one attack button and not many combos for attacking. also unlike the previous two games, you will not be able to just power smash your way through enemies and you will have to dodge and plan your attacks.
There are some issues here and there with graphics and camera angle (fire being blocky at the beginning of the game, camera panning between charterers in cut scenes not smooth, camera angle in small areas)
Other then these issues (could most likely get patched) and getting use to the new play style, i am enjoying this game very much. after the first hour the combat is fun and challenging, the story is good so far (minus some bad voice over for a few characters).
the few issue i have mentioned are why i am putting 4 star, if they patch these few issues i would give a 5 star for this game
P.s. the darksiders series has had a interesting development history, with the 2nd and 3rd game almost never being made due to company buyout and bankruptcy. the only reason that the 3rd game was able to be made is the original team of the first two games created this new studio after THQ was shut down.

Best Darksiders Game Yet

I binged through this game over the course of 4 days. At first, I struggled to learn the new combat system, and died quite frequently. Once you get the hang of the dodging mechanic and counter attacks, this game will be a breeze. The boss fights are all difficult enough, the most difficult being Gluttony. I wiped over 50 times attempting this boss, but that's the fun in the game. The feeling you get after finally beating a boss after countless encounters is so good that you feel invincible and ready to take on something even more challenging. The combat system is so smooth that it almost feels natural, and the puzzles were a fine balance of complex and simple.
A few of my complaints are the fact that I would occasionally lose frames in bigger areas of the map, the waiting time on a loading screen takes longer than anticipated (40-90 seconds at a time, which adds up after many wipes), and the fact that I did go out of bounds a few times. One of those times I actually managed to skip the whole Kraken fight by hitting it with the AOE damage of my flame form jump while standing outside the game map.
Aside from those minor flaws, this game is still my personal favorite Darksiders. Very rich in lore and it helps fill more of the missing details from Darksiders 1 and 2.

I was a huge fan of Darksiders 1 and 2. Both felt like a combination of Zelda, God of War and a bit of Devil May Cry. They had the dungeons, the puzzles and the smooth linearity with a pseudo open world to explore between dungeons. Darksiders 3 is more like Dark Souls, Lords of the Fallen and the Surge, rather than previous installments. The difficulty balancing with this game is definitely on the side of unfair, where most enemies will take you out in 2-3 hits despite your level and abilities. The game has a strange sense of pacing too. Rather than moving to different regions on a map, it's more like Lords of the Fallen and the Surge, in that, the whole world is connected through tight tunnels, corridors and pathways, which slowly open up more and more as you gain new skills.
Graphically, the game is a step backwards, with bland texture work and some muddy environments. Even on the One X, the game looks sharp, albeit dated and uninspiring. The combat is okay at best, feeling fairly responsive even though certain actions like jumping tend to get queued a bit later than expected which ends up with some cheap deaths. In short, I would say the game is worth it around the 25-30 dollar mark. It is an alright action game but if you're prone to getting frustrated, then I would sadly tell you to pass on this altogether because of the Dark Souls-esc difficulty. The game seems to be created to kill you and to have you learn from your deaths to master certain fights. Victories are rewarding, but usually met with a long sigh of relief since you're always one or two hits away from being killed. Also, fyi, the checkpoint system is pretty awful. You can only respawn at Vulgrim locations, which act as the games shop, such as with previous games, and they are pretty far apart and many deaths will find you having to run for a couple of minutes just to get back to where you left of. If you're a die-hard Darksiders fan, like I said, I personally would wait for a sale, and as much of a fan I am of the series, it's clear to me this one is a flop, and it doesn't stand on it's own from the first two, which were clearly much better.

Darksiders III is an underrated game that has a fun story, great combat, and pretty good graphics to go along with it. Fury has a continuation of the saga of the 4 horsemen and is set after the stories of War and Death. Fury is bored but comes to have some concern for the well-being for the humans and becomes a champion to prevent their destruction in this universe. A fun ride from THQ Nordic that is really underrated and combat that has a stable 30 framerate. A great value now

Combat and challenge level has gone toward a more punishing Dark Souls-y type of feel than previous Darksiders games. Great new protagonist. Streamlined gameplay, setting and story make for a good action game in a tight package... almost too tight if you finish before you're ready. Then again, that depends on how many times you get stuck trying to perfect the right technique to down a hard boss.

At first, I was a bit worry about all the bad reciew around online, about all the issues the game have. But, as more I play the more those issues become minors. This game is hard compare to the other ones, is challenging but at the same time is rewarding once you endure those challenge. The story over all is focus of how fury changes his view about the world to have an open mind, based on the decistions as a gamer make during the story. Not to mention the final twist was epic full of excitement for the next game and his epic unfold on the series.

the game overall is very good I liked it a lot only thing that stopped me from giving it 5 stars was the fact that the loading times were way to long! I play on a one x and thought it was supposed to reduce loading times especially in game loading. Dying was frustrating because I would have to wait over a minute to jump back in and I died a lot.

This was my first time playing any other Darksider games, and I'm truly enjoying the experience. There are a number of puzzles, the characters are compelling and I like the graphics. I did not pay a lot for this game, less than $5, but it was certainly worth it. I would it say it's even worth paying $20, if you can get it for that price. I'm not even halfway through the game, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the rest will be like. I suspect if you played previous versions, you may already on this is I think it's pretty good. If this is your first Venture into Darksiders, I think it's a good one.

Decent Entry in Darksiders Series

In this Darksiders 3 third person action game entry you play as Fury. The objective is to battle and defeat the Seven Deadly Sins in a chamber type setting.
The graphics could use some slight polishing as could some of the difficulty levels that you will encounter. If you are a fan of hack and slash like Diablo then you will be rewarded with the monster fighting. Weapons can be upgraded to be utilized against the different enemy types. While the landscape setting could use some improvements, this game is more linear focused fun in terms of game play.

If you like 3rd person hack and slash with weapon customization attribute leveling and magical abilitys that you can also upgrade you will love this game. You play as Fury a young attractive woman and one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. She's hot deadly and fun to play . The boss battles are epic and the game overall is very fun to play It's not a Dark Souls game at all not sure why that's being thrown around. Combat is based on her whip chain attacks and magic havoc attacks. I could go deeper into this but I think you get the gist . Graphics are very good the controls are tight and the 3rd person camera never gets janky .It's a lot like devil may cry with a female protagonist and better combat .

I haven't played through the entire game yet but what I have, I like. People have complained about the digital version being buggy. I have not had any problems with the physical copy in my time playing. Yeah, she plays different than War and Death but, in my opinion, it's a far cry from being terrible. I think her fighting style is fluid. It takes a few minutes to pick up the controls but I find the gameplay entertaining. Yes, it is dark souls like in some regards but it still has the Darksider's feel. I have no problems with the leveling system. It's different than the other two but I don't think it lessens the quality of the game in any way. I'm enjoying this game and hope they finish the series.

DS3 starts off a little different than DS1 and 2. Where DS1-2 were power fantasies, this entry in the series starts you off weaker and more vulnerable requiring you to learn how to dodge effectively. It takes inspiration from Dark Souls also, but I thought that only applied in the 1st 3rd of the game. Once the back half of the game kicks in and you're powered up the real fun begins. It takes a little while to get there, but once you do, it kicks on all cylinders like the first two Darksiders!

Finished up Darksiders 2 about a month ago in prep for this one. 3 runs and looks better the ones before it (as you'd expect) and offers in a nice challenge with boss encounters. If you've played the other 2 games and want more old school nostalgia, I'd say give it a go.
I'm guessing this will be the last game we get, because my gut tells me the overall sales for this game will be low. Shame, because it's been a solid series so far.

So far very happy, long time fan of the series. My only complaint is that it doesn't feel like it meets today's advancements in gaming technology, could look a little better. Mostly feels like an updated version of Darksiders 2 with a new character, which I am ok with. Hoping this game gets enough following to continue the story after for another sequel.

The Darksiders series has been one of my favorites for years, the third title has now finally released after years of development and change of hand from developers. The game has some technical issue which will mostly be fixed in the coming weeks and the story is pretty good. As stated not the best in the series but still a great game.
