    This was actually a mini-series in Germany about u-boats during WW-II. Not much action but it did show how bad life could on a submarine. Was great about this cd is that it is in German and English.

    This is the uncut original version that clocks in at about 5 hours.. It is the best version. Worth every penny..

    it was hard to find this uncut movie but I was happy to find it on best buys. The price was good. I love this movie.

    Great mini series of life on a German U-Boat during WWII. German language movie with English subtitles.

    Like Letters From Iwo Jima over two decades later, Das Boot is a great film which humanizes 'the other side' of WWII. Jurgen Prochnow is superb as the captain of a German U-boat, which patrols the Atlantic with its mostly green crew searching for Allied ships. The claustrophobic setting adds to the unending tension and drama.
