Tech removed hard drive from my virus infected 9-year-old Lenovo desktop snd copied it to a 1TB external drive. Booted it up and transferred selected files to new computer. Everything seems to work fine. Nice thorough job.

well, the staff is so helpful and welcoming, sometimes i just pick their knowledge for support, like the computer, mini port, disk drive, are all ideals to keep me coming back for help. they did a wonderful job transferring data.

I bought a Lenovo laptop at the Scottsdale/Hayden store at the end of January and paid for the data transfer service. Five days later the laptop was ready for pick up. When I got home I realized that the sales agent had given the Geek Squad the wrong laptop. I returned the laptop and exchanged it for the correct one. The Geek Squad then transferred the data from the wrong laptop to the new one. Another 5 day wait. This time not all of the data was transferred, including all of the Outlook files from my old laptop. I was quite frustrated and contemplated returning the laptop for a full refund. However I decided it give it one more try. Due to the long turnaround time at the Scottsdale/Hayden store (5-7 days), I brought the laptop to the Paradise Valley store. Despite my negative feelings by this time, Geek Squad Agent Greg was patient and professional. We went over everything that needed to be done, including reloading software that I had originally purchased with the new laptop. Agent Greg even called me twice with questions he had. Within 24 hours the new laptop was ready for pickup. Agent Greg and I went over the installed software and the data to ensure that everything had been transferred. I was extremely pleased with the Agent, his professionalism and quality of the service. He is a tremendous asset to the Geek Squad team and to Best Buy. He turned a frustrating and negative experience into a positive.

My 10 year old PC died. Like most, I didn’t back it up and was concerned I had lost home finance information and lots of family pics. The local Geek Squad worked their magic.

I thought the entire work was done professionally and expeditiously as requested. I received a call that the transfer of data was done prior to the initial date estimate. The staff helped carry the new and old computer to my car. There is only one problem: When I brought the old computer, I had an AC power cord with it and that AC power cord was left behind. I would like to stop by and pick it up over the next couple of days. I was impressed by the overall cooperation and customer focus by your employees. Thank you. The staff at the Geek Squad were able to back up my files from an old Compaq Presario computer. They originally told me it would probably be a couple of weeks (no problem, since I hadn't looked at it in over 10 years). They out did themselves by finishing it in less than 24 hours. Thank you!

We received good service to clean-up our desktop and speed up its functioning. A new hard drive was installed to facilitate this. Only problems were the loss of software programs (which we then had to reinstall) and a temporary copy of the Windows OS, which then led to a message requiring a confirmation of certification number a month later.

The Best Buy sales person transferred all the data from my old phone to the new phone I purchased. She knew exactly how to do it and was quite proficient in operating both phones at once to do the transfer with the Smart Switch apps. She was very pleasant and answered all my many questions. When the transfer was done, she had me check my new phone to make sure it got all the data and files. It did get them all and I walked out with a new and useable phone.

Easy fast and well done. They did everything for me and finished earlier than the estimated time frame. I'm so happy that I made this purchase.

The Geek Squad did an excellent job in transferring my data from a HP to a Surface Pro 4. I bought the Surface on Saturday morning and was told it would be two to three days before it was ready. It was ready the next day! I appreciated the fact that I could make an appointment to pick it up! They walked me through the basics of the Surface during the appointment. A great experience!

Unfortunately, my telephone support Geek Squad maintenance plan I've had for years was not enough to fix my problem. As many of you may know, doesn't everything seem to go wrong at the worst possible time? The hard drive on my very young gently used HP All One completely failed less than a week before I had to go on vacation. I brought it into Best Buy and was advised I should upgrade to the GS total tech support that would cover future in store service and phone support at no cost. I was originally told they wouldn't be able to recover most of my data. I was also told it may need to be shipped out for repair. To my surprise, they were able to fix it in store and as far as I can tell so far, most of my original data was recovered. Geek Squad maintenance plan is a must have for anyone that isn't very tech savvy. A good experience with the agents and a good impression of most. They were very helpful and had my computer ready for me when I returned from vacation.

Transferred my data quickly and efficiently Earlier than estimated.

The transfer from one computer to another was successful. The wait time for pick up was a little long but that was not because of the staff but from other customers without an appointment.

The geek squad agent, Andrew , was very professional and knowledgeable about my problem. He recommended a new hard drive, backing up all my data and providing this service very quickly. The hard drive has worked very well and all my data was saved. I am very glad I had the geek squad repair my laptop. Bought a new computer and left it and my old one, along with external hard drive, with them to transfer files/data to backup, as well as to new computer. It took them three days (they told me up to 7 or more), so fairly quick. They cleaned my old computer really well, which I greatly appreciate. Love them. BUT...the guy who sold me the new laptop and the geeksquad guy who checked me in, did NOT inform me that for a data transfer you have the option of having everything transferred to a file on your desk top and then you have to move everything to the appropriate place, install, etc. or them doing all of that. I assumed, when I paid $100 for this service, that they would transfer everything to their drives/folders, etc. They did not. Then they told me that I didn't mention which option I wanted when I checked the computer in. No one informed me of this. Thought it was a little strange. ? Anyway, they remotely did it for me, which took another 3 hours, but at least it was finished. I will say, that is kind of a big deal to me and a big faux pas. Other than that, I am happy with services.

The staff were informative and helpful. They responded to calls and questions. One call that was promised did not happen .
