Unfortunately, my data transfer was a disaster

My new in home computer set up (data transfer ) was a disaster! Even my printer was not completely set up and ready to perform all tasks, such as scanning.
As a result my old functioning computer's hard drive AND the new computer hard drive each became totally corrupt and I lost all precious lifetime photos and professional files.
Best Buy did try to do a higher level recovery at Geek Squad City which was not successful. I also was provided another new computer, which of course has none of the files/photos that had been corrupted/lost.
At this point I did not get at all what I paid for and lost precious data in the process.
I have requested Geek Squad/Best Buy to contact me about the damage to make some level of amends, but no one has.
Very sad, disappointing experience.

Hector D from the Geek Squad set up my new IMac and was professional and answered my questions and got the job done in the allotted time. Would not hesitate to call upon him again to aid in any computer problems.

Folks, we need to be totally honest re this service. The techie came to our home and tried diligently to transfer our data from an 8 year old Dell computer to a brand new iMac. He could not get our data over for the most part nor our printer to scan and fax. This had nothing to do with his ability but more with compatibility issues. So this is a heads up to you all to find out ahead of time re these issues that might happen to you. We feel Best Buy should have given us some kind of warning, esp. since they knew what equipment we had OR should have asked!!

HE SHOWED UP FROM FAR AWAY AND TRIED TO TRANSFER MY INFO BUT A LOT IS STILL MISSING AND THE UNIT IS GOING TO BE RETURNED SO I WILL SEE IF THE NEXT TRANSFER GOES BETTER.

I purchased a new hard drive. Agent transferred data but system was not working properly and some data had not transferred properly. Took multiple follow up phone calls to agents and management before the agent returned to fix the problem. Felt the geek squad just did not care. Very displeased in the inability to deliver customer service and lack of promptness to return and make the needed repairs. The problem did finally get resolved, but not without many unnecessary follow up phone calls.

Purchased computer a month ago May 12. Still waiting for installation from Geek Squad. They were here once but said they did not have time to do what was asked. They said they would be back June 16. There has to be better training of the sales people to enter what is to be done.

This was simply not explained to me in the store. I only wanted 10 or so photos from my saved e-mail. What I got instead was a lot of my last deleted e-mail. Not good.
I think it's required that I click one star. If it weren't so, I would not click any.

Another smart decision

The transfer of the data from my older iMac to this one was the right decision even though most of my data was already in the cloud. I think the better part of this transfer was that my previous subscription applications were transferred and set up perfectly. Anything that didn't delay my continued use of my iMac turned out to be great decisions.
