If you are not a fan already, this album will not change your mind. Loose and garage-y aren't always a plus. This album is really just about Paul having fun in his basement, playing around with covers and song ideas rather than fully realized songs. If you want Paul the songwriter, concerned with his craft, try late era Mats. If you're familiar with his catalog and want a measuring stick, it's closest to Hillbilly Junk from Tremble or Mr Rabbit from Stereo. I only bought it because he releases so little on vinyl. Some of it's fun, some of the covers are interesting, but it's unquestionably my favorite songwriter's worst album.
