A Visual Novel I Can Get Behind

The moment you start you're thrown right into the game's story. Pacing feels really good and had me hooked until I had to fall asleep at 6am. The horror aspects are there but it feels more mystery oriented than spooks. There were times where I had to pause and think things through before making a decision. The creepy atmosphere and lore of spirits/ghouls hit just the right spot. So since it's a visual novel you will spend a good amount of time reading while the rest is you exploring an area. Each area is considered a chapter of the overall story and sort of builds off what you previously did. Areas are free to roam but you're stuck on a specific trail or route with branching paths. The best way to explain it is first person dungeon crawlers. Move forward, move left, go back go right. At the same time you'll have to find certain items to help you move forward or to give you a boost. There are "fight scenes" and then there are fight scenes. Each one has it's own consequences and rewards. I got in the habit of saving everywhere because I never knew when I would be attacked or accidentally trigger a story point. Trophy wise, it's pretty straight forward. At most it'll take two playthroughs to platinum. I'm giving it 4 stars because it did feel slightly shorter than I expected.

It took me soo long to finally get this game to play when I saw it on clearance on Best Buy, I was finally ready to pick it up as I have heard good things about this game but I was tied up with many other games I was currently playing so I didn't have the time. I just finished the game today and this has to be one of the best horror games I've played! I love point and click horror games, the story is really good, not once was I bored reading the dialogue for this game and understanding more about the characters and the spirits and what led them to become who they are. The eerie environments and gruesome pictures and sounds really had me on edge in this game. If you like horror games with ghosts and point and click/visual novel, definitely pick this one up!! It's a pretty short game too, only 6 chapters but different endings and trophies. I have about 90% of the trophies in this game! I'm currently waiting on the sequel to come in the mail and I will give my review on that one as well!

This is a Japanese horror game. Half visual novel, half point & click adventure. Somewhat similar to games like 999 and Danganronpa but with a focus on the supernatural. Very eerie and well written. Had me hooked very early on. The localization is done VERY well (nothing is butchered or Americanized), and I have not noticed any spelling or grammatical errors. Don't be put off by the visual novel elements, this game plays out more like a point&click adventure game. Highly recommend for fans of Japanese horror.

Great game for what it is. I haven't had the time to play through it myself yet though. At some point I fully intend to though.

Bought this because I am a RP/Action game player. This is absolutely the worst game that I have ever purchased. It has no action and literally no action graphics. If you enjoy reading a sentence at a time for big chunks of time this game may be for you but I need some challenges in my game and this one does not have them other than answering some questions to advance in the game, Sorry!!

Went and took a chance on this game being that it was so cheap. The first start of the game has no volume. Which is completely weird

Unfortunately this game is very painful to play the text takes too long and there are times when up to 5-10 minutes is only reading text and pushing next. The story line is the only redeeming feature of the game.
