Customers regard the graphics, story, and soundtrack of Death Stranding as exceptional, frequently citing them as highlights of the game. However, some players found the controls and pacing to be less intuitive and slower than preferred, while others noted a significant amount of walking. The open world and price point also received positive feedback. Despite some criticisms, many players found the game's unique features engaging.

Give this a chance! Kojima is known for pushing the boundaries and this game does exactly that. The story may be confusing at first but it pays off towards the end. The gameplay os above average put the stunning visuals, especially the vast and diverse environment, more than make up for it.

This game is so artistic and the graphics alone are so stunning!! It’s a very interesting and creepy game based on the story. It’s so awesome uncovering bits and pieces at a time through flash backs. The game is realistic on the carting and distribution of weight. If you carry too much you will start to fall over. I really hope this game wins game of the year!

I'm very pleased with my purchase. The story, the gameplay, the music (semi annoying one time, but it's brief), and lore... It's all pretty good. Nothing overly cheesy for me. No spoilers in this review though. I do recommend that you get this game, so go get it!
I enjoyed doing the side quests and exploration. Can get grindy if you're a completionist.

I got this as a gift for a friend. I have the game and honestly it’s one of the best I have ever played. The visuals are very great, the story is somewhat confusing but it’s different. I really enjoy hearing up and setting out to make a delivery over rough terrain and enemy threats that can interfere and damage cargo. I hop mu friend likes it as much as I do!

I thought I was in for a real treat with another game with the same calibre as all of the Metal Gear Solid titles as they were also created by the visionary Hideo Kijima. Boy was I wrong. Although graphics are stunning, gameplay is nothing short of boooooring...... It's the same repetitive nonsense every time you do any mission. I felt like all I did was run back and forth through the mountains. I got about a quarter of the way through the game and just turned it off. Very disappointing to say the least. Not even close in quality, story etc. to my least favorite Metal Gear title. I'd only recommend this to someone if I wanted them to waste their money on purpose.

I was iffy on this game for so long but grabbed it on sale and I’m so glad I finally did. What a fantastic game. I sunk 100 hours into it and got platinum and it was fun the entire time. An original story. Amazing graphics. No frame rates that I could notice. No glitches. Amazing acting. A really really great game.

This isn't COD nor anything in that genre. This is very different, but a good different. The graphics were excellent, story line kept me hooked and gameplay wanted to make me finish the game and see everything thru as far as completing 100%. I'd give it a shot, especially if you're a Hideo Kojima fan (Metal Gear Solid series).

Death Stranding is a great game. The story takes a bit to get into but enjoyable. If you like yearly releases that get shoveled out every year this game is not for you. Sure you deliver packages but it's about the journey. If you enjoy the works of Hideo Kojima like Snatcher, Policenauts, Zone of the Enders...etc it's a must play.

My son was waiting a long time for this game to be released and he plays it whenever he can. He loves the graphics and excellent story and challenges it presents. If he stops playing for a little while I might get a chance to check it out. He gives it 5 stars since he considers it to be one of the best games he has ever played.

The game is wonder-filled, beautiful, and haunting. It's not MGS6, although there is more action here than has been described in many reviews or seen on YT.
For example, you've probably read the "first 10 hours are a slog and filled with backtracking." Well, I didn't have to backtrack til hour 6 and when I did, it was on a motorcycle and took like 2 minutes. Before that point, I was pulled into an amazing world and game play loop that alternated between top tier storytelling cinematics and tight, compelling game play. Each loop added a bit more to each. Within 3 hours, I had seen and done more crazy things than most games dream of, had heart pounding moments, planned my moves, ran for my life, explored in wonder, and got pulled into the mystery of terms, characters, and visuals Death Stranding offers.
Give the game a rental or if you have the disposable income, go with your gut. This isn't No Man's Sky launch part 2. This is a masterpiece in its own right and playing it will be immensely satisfying and emotionally engaging. History will look fondly on Death Stranding after the initial polarization stabilizes.

I know this game is extremely divisive. But that's the beauty of it honestly. It starts off slow with lots of cut scenes and it's very confusing. But stick with it because very soon after, everything picks up and things start to make more and more sense.
The gameplay to me is very fun. You are essentially delivering packages, so you need to manage how much cargo you can hold, and determine how many jobs you can take on at a time. You're basically trying to reconnect the country one delivery at a time. It's a realistic game, so you can't just go sprinting everywhere, run up a mountain and then jump off the mountain and take no damage. But that's the fun of it; mapping out your best route and executing it. It's a very relaxing game, but sometimes you venture into a BT territory which completely unnerves you and you have to sneak around them. Or you come across a MULE post and you need to either sneak by them or fight them.
This game might not be for everyone, but I would still recommend you to try it out. It's different from other games and that's refreshing. Give it a try!

The storyline is amazing and well thought out. The gamescape is gorgeous and detail is breathtaking. The gameplay is exactly what you think it is delivering packages to places across a variety of landscapes and watching out for the rain and dead who haven't crossed over.

I understand this game might not have landed with everyone given the gameplay stype, but it was certainly a unique gaming experience. It's a super cinematic and story heavy game and it's very well done in my opinion.

The graphics are amazing on the PS4 pro. I'm playing on an OLED TV and the HDR is incredible. The game is a little slow on the beginning but then you unlock items like a bike to deliver cargo. I've been playing it since Christmas 2019 and I like it so far.

A great game told very slowly. I would argue the story outshines the gameplay but the gameplay definitely helps tell the story. You just have to be a bit patient with this one.

Walk Hard: The Video Game

Yes, you will walk hard, so hard. But never has walking felt so meaningful. I’ve spent many hours walking across a lot of different video games, and for a variety of reasons. In a lot of those worlds, I just wanted to explore, and often with others. Maybe this particular game wasn’t what I had in mind, but it’s ultimately a culmination of many aspects I love and wanted in a game. While I do agree that the whole package comes off very shallow at first - a visual feast of a story that drops the player into a delivery simulator - it unfolds into a curious and strange experience. The lonely walking is contextualized with a simple motivation, and an incredibly emotional story - then grown into an arc of meetings between other players through building and connecting across the world. Like ghosts in your isolated world, real people are an entity that can truly be felt. A constant symbiotic weave. Which is countered by the in-game threat of BT’s (ghost-like entities that occupy that world), encounters that can be tense and sometimes terrifying, and always a threat to the mission at hand. Mobility throughout the world is aided by quite a few tools, including vehicles, robots and mechanical limbs. Eventually making certain traversing rather simple and relaxing, which means a lot in the face of trekking some harsh terrain on foot. The walking itself is akin to a survival simulator more than a delivery device. Knowing about certain packages can help the story, but in all reality it’s the challenge of the environment that provides the risk/reward satisfaction of playing the game, making deliveries - as well as the delicate balance of inventory too. The venture comes with a lot of characters that provide a deep story - one of the best I’ve ever experienced. The entire experience truly comes full circle. Story and gameplay, the experience of playing through all the scenarios, traversing across such a vast environment - while many may not find this game suitable for everyone, I truly find it worthy of at least attempting the experience.

Beautiful, smooth accurate controls, great sound design, unique concept. This is a fantastic game. Can get repetitive, but nowhere near boring. I've loved every minute so far. Having real world actors and brand names is apparently becoming a thing in gaming, but business is business i guess.

Amazing game in terms of graphics, voice acting, story, but man is the gameplay questionable. If you can put up with the gameplay is really a fun time, and I recommend playing it during this pandemic. Wait for a sale if you’re unsure.

Found the story to be out of this world bonkers. I would say that waiting for it to go on sale just months after release was the best xmas gift we could have gone. I wiuld have paid full price but i had a backlog. Regardless, stunning visuals 10/10. Story 20/10, gameplay 9/10
