I would rank this at the bottom of my dc favorite cartoon movies. Might just be because of the art style.

What makes Deathstroke a compelling character and a fan-favorite? It would be all the nuances this movie missed, even though you can tell they tried to capture those nuances while making Slade a "hero". But making him a hero is where the movie failed. Deathstroke is neither hero nor villian. He is an ethically failed character but with a strict code of morals and values. He strives to be the best there is at what he does, but also fiercely loves and is dedicated to his family. This movie sets him up to be a confused hero, which he is not. While he does often choose to avoid full-on evil/sadistic employers, he isn't "virtuous". It also misses that while Deathstroke is a master warrior and tactician, he is also a master strategist. This movie basically has him always taking bullets, getting beat up, and one-step behind the enemy at every stage. How they chose to craft this story is also baffling. Why take such a complex character with years of great stories to pull from; and slap together this nonsense? I guess they were trying to take a "fresh" approach, but they easily could've just crafted a story with characters true to their lore while still making it feel relatable enough to sell to the casual watcher.

First, item was as promised and arrived quickly. Secondly, as for movie, overall i'm pleased with it and the story was another good entry into DC Universe telling personal story of Slade Wilson. Interesting story (a little simplistic) and was much more adult-themed than expecting with marital issues, relationship problems, etc, BUT it did set up the story well and leaves open possibility of another story or chapter. The one criticism I have is the animation. It seems DC is getting "creative" with the animation for its movies and I was less than impressed or pleased, but it didn't take away from the story. Overall, I would not hesitate to buy this when it is on sale... definitely was worth the value to add to the collection!

This is another winner for WB's DC Movies. It's edgy, rough and in-your-face. It's violent & hard-boiled action. But it doesn't skimp on character development. As usual, the voice casting is spot on. Michael Chiklis as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke is masterfully subtle in his performance. Sasha Alexander compliments Chiklis extremely well as Wlison's ex. But it's Colin Salmon's performance as Wintergreen, Wilson's trusted ally, that's the most fun & enjoyable. This animated feature, however, is not for children. It's rated R for a reason - the violence, coarse language and explicit bloodshed.

A solid entry to the DCAU, but not for kids...

I did not know what to expect from this movie, since this is the first DCAU movie since the events at the end of Justice League Dark Apokolips War. I wasn't disappointed. The animation style is very different from previous movies, which worked toward it'd favor since it is rated R. The story line dragged here and there but the action, and actual violence, made up for it. This was just the type of movie you would expect with a title character called Deathstroke. I would give it another 1/2 star if I could.

A pretty great movie that does a good job introducing viewers to Slade Wilson AKA Deathstroke and his troubled family. Serves as a great origin story with a lot of bloody action. Deathstroke is mostly known as a side character or antagonist to casual audiences but in this film, he serves as the star without relying on other DC characters like Batman or the Teen Titans. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the character, DC animated movies, or action flicks in general.

Ignore the other reviews that say the animation is not good. The animation took me for a moment the first few minutes, as I read the reviews and notice the style is much different then the other who animations. But as I watched wen saw how violent and animation was, I began to love it l. The story is really good, a sort of origin story of death stroke and his son. And as ow arched it more the style of the animation also grew on me as well. It looks like a movies comic book and I’m sure that was the intention of the director with the art style and color palettes that they used.

This web series compiled into a movie continues in the line of previous DC's Vixen, Freedom Fighters: The Ray and Constantine. Same great art style that is original to these projects. So nice to see other DC characters included in these movies in addition to the main character. My only gripes would be some severe violent scenes and the bluray cover design. I can't wait to see who the next film will be about.

Great DC animated movie and I like that this one is edgier and a little darker like the comic book would be. Deathstroke is a mercenary and a master assassin trained by Ras Al Ghul. He is also, a family man so he's not cold-blooded throughout the movie. He's just very good at his job. It is an R movie, so it's not like any other DC animated cartoon. Michael Chiklis did a great job with his voice over work. Well worth adding to the DC animated collection.

I watched this show on the original CWSeed along with the annoying breaks for advertisments. I thought the animation was good and the story line was well written. The movie is rated R for a reason (graphic violence and adult language). The bonus material includes a feature looking at the history of the Deathstroke character from the DC comics and Arrowverse. I'm pleased to add this disc to my DC animated library.

I love dc animated features. They tell unique stories with unique art styles and most seem to be made like a labor of love. This particular feature follows deathstroke and his family. I quite like the art style for this film though it may take some getting used to for others. Overall a strong edition to the DC animated universe.

Deathstroke has long been a favorite character of mine. And it's great that he shines in his own movie. Not quite an anti hero, not always the villian. Other than the dumb title. Which usually accompanies these DCAU films. Knights and Dragons is a great watch.

This movie puts you in the personal life of Deathstroke, this is a struggle between his choice of life and his family. It's a good film but not the best DC has done before in the animated series. That being said, it's worth watching, quite entertaining.

If you are a fan of DC Animated movies, then you need to watch this. They don't hold back when it comes to them showing internal body parts, and that stuff pumping through your veins. It is very violent, but so awesome. That's to be expected though, especially when you think about who the main character is. DEATHSTROKE.

It's about time Slade got his own movie, albeit animated. The story was relatively fresh, the artwork solid. But, it really isn't my favorite interpretation of him on film.

Good story, but at this point DC needs to step up their live action films. They have always made great animated movies and this is another one for the collection. Not one I’d watch repeatedly so rent don’t buy
