I have had Def Tech speakers and subs for OVER 30 years and was ready for an upgrade. These speakers are fantastic especially when combined with the height modules that seemlessly click into the top. Plus now, the subwooofers are built in freeing up floor space in the family room!

These speakers are worth every penny. We have a pair of these and use our Sony Tv with acoustic surface as our center speaker. These speakers are great for music even on their own. The integrated subs are a game changer. Music is crisp and full. We have them powered by a Denon AVR-x4700H receiver. I would highly recommend them!

So there are definitely better speakers out there, no question about that. But you would be hard pressed to find speakers that sound as good as these for this price. I was between these and CM10s (different price point) and I chose these. Not that CM10s sound the same because they do not but because they are more than twice the price I opted for these until I could save up a bit more. The subs could be a bit bigger but that's what the 9060s are for. I think in my room two 8 inch subs sound great. I'm running these in stereo off of a Denon X4200.

Bought as an open box and can't say enough about the quality, I own all definitive technology speakers and bought these as the front wides, you won't be disappointed if you can find these at open box pricing.

I recently bought these speakers over the BP9060. I didn't feel I needed the 10" woofer that the 9060 has. The bass out of these is more than enough. They provide a very powerful sound for movies. The only downside to these speakers is for music. I will it had a little more mid range for a fuller sound. To me they are a little bright for music and lack the mids really needed for good music. With that, if you want something that will change your movie watching experience at home, buy these.

I am a bit biased as I have the Pro Cinema 600 in my guest room for gaming and movies, the Pro Cinema 1000 in the master for movies and the AW 6500 outdoor speakers for music. The BP9040’s are my first pair of Bi-Polar and first pair of towers, they have overachieved in all areas! The room filling bi polar soundstage is a must for theater experience(friends and family alike prefer my house to the theater), and I coupled them with the atmos speakers, never going back to satellites alone! The clarity and punch of these towers is exciting, I can’t wait to listen to movies and music alike as the experience with the BP’s is like going from DVD to Blu-ray, there is no comparison. These are efficient speakers but I would reccomend throwing some real power at them to experience their full capabilities. I started with 100 watts from a Yamaha receiver which sounded good, but I upgraded to a high end Marantz amp which Tom the system over the top. The integrated subs go deeper than I thought, low enough to shake your nose yet adjustable if you do not want to wake the Neighbor’s. Worth every penny, next time I am going got the BP9080’s.

Sounds great! I purchased an open box item which ended up having a broken stand and the subwoofer light does not work, but for the price its a great speaker.

Good sound for a home theatre, paired with Dolby Atmos A90s and the included internal subwoofer make for great sound and great looks. I had an older BP-8040 that was also great but the subwoofer part died after ~8 years. With this model I was a bit worried about the looks of the base (previous 8040s had black feet that were hard to notice), but the 9040s look great on my wooden floor once unpacked.

Great build and design. Goes well with the modern look od my home. More importantly the spending an extra $200 for this model over the model below it was worth it for me. The sound is crisp, clear, and had more punch compared to the entry level model.

Exceeded expectations. Sounds quality is amazing. Bass hits really hard for 8 inches. Sounds/feels better than a movie theater when combined with full surround speakers. No sub woofer needed

Upgraded from BP-8040 to BP-9040 series. The 8040 series was (and still is ) fantastic. I upgraded to the 9040 to add the height modules without having cut any holes in my ceiling. The peaker looks fantastic and has the sound to match. The integration of the height module was seamless. The quality of 8040 was great. Watched many many many movies on high volume and they worked flawlessly and never faltered. The sound quality and bass is awesome. A must have for movie enthusiats!

This is the best speaker I’ve ever owned. It sounds much better than any of my other surround systems. DefTech is one of the best speakers I’ve heard. They definitely live up to their name. My other front speakers were a Mirage LCR sound bar with a 10”sub and they sounded great. I was worried that the 8” subs in the DefTech wasn’t going to play as deep as the 10” sub, but they are all that and more. You will not be disappointed in these speakers period.
