Taking your system to the next level
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.I wasn’t familiar with the brand and the price was a little more than I was expecting to spend. Bottom line if it’s your price range you’ll be very pleased. I knew that I was going to take the 14 days to really try the system. Sound quality and construction was everything I expected

Amazing!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed.I wasn’t sure if i wanted the BP9060 or BP9040. But after some thinking I went for the BP9040 because my rears are the SR9040 and my center is the CS9040 so i wanted everything to match. I’m really happy with the def tech speakers and the sound is amazing. I recently got the A90 and do notice the overhead sound. The bass one the 9040 is really good for its size. I have a Marantz SR6015 and present 1 is setup to what def tech recommends and present 2 is LFE. The only big thing I noticed definitely is the bass. The bass control on the speaker itsell is only at the 3 o’clock position and it’s crazy how much bass the produce. I definitely do want to buy 2 more of the 9040 along with a90 for the rears to have the full 5.0.4 surround sound. Still not sure if i need the emotiva amp. If i do get one I’ll start small for the a90’s.

Still in Awe!!!
||Posted .I was shopping for new subwoofer and came across these BP9040 speakers. Built in 8" subwoofers. You are able to adjust the amount of bass you like. Movies and music sound awesome. Still surprised how great they sound, paired with CS9040. The mids are incredibly clear, with the right amount of bass. Solving my subwoofer problem. Ended up being a great time to upgrade my L/C/R speakers.Thunderous and clear sounding. You can feel the bass through your chest.. 7.2 setup with Denon X2200 pushing them. I can always later add A90 atmos speakers later as well.- Mensrea69

Pure Clean Sound With Outstanding Bass
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I did a major upgrade to my home theater and these Speakers completed the project! Since these speakers can handle the watts, I did add a 200 Watt Per Channel Amplifier. The pop sounds that some folks have written about, did happen once or twice for the few two weeks. I've since completed the burn-in period and I haven't heard it.

Excellent
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Enormous soundstage and bass is kicking no sub needed, but I still have one anyways can never have too many subs.

Great speakers
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. These speakers are awesome! I was comparing these two an equivalent Bowers and Wilkins. The sound is crisp and fills the room. I have a designated home theater and chose these for the ease of adding Atmos upfacing speakers. I have a large paradigm subwoofer as part of the system and there’s not too much bass with the individual subs in the towers. Very happy with the purchase.

Q: QuestionI bought these a couple months ago.... Every time the subs turn on, there's a quick popping noise. It happens on both speakers.... I have contacted Def Tech and they are telling me the internal amps are bad. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks! -M
Asked by Mo.
- A:Answer @Gary, I spoke with Chet at Def Tech customer service....real nice guy. Told me that all of the speakers in the BP9000 line will have this popping noise when the subs first turn on. Essentially he said it was "normal" and would not affect the longevity of the speakers. He also said that replacing the amps would not help. If you're within your return period, and don't like the popping noise at startup, return them. I've tried everything to help with the noise but nope, still present. I love how the speakers sound and will be keeping them though. -Mo

Q: QuestionTen minutes after I turn off my receiver, there is a pop (but it's really more of a thump) that is very very loud. I've had the speakers for a few months, and I think it might be discharge from receiver? Other than that they are great.
Asked by Person.
- A:Answer i believe its the built in amplifier shutting down. the d light on the bottom of the speaker on the front will be lit and watch it. if you hear the thump and the light goes out then that's what most likely it is.

Q: QuestionWe have the Onkyo TX-NR696 AV receiver, is it enough to power the BP9040?
Asked by E92M3.
- A:Answer I looked up your specs. You have 100 watts per channel. My Yamaha has 90 and it brings the house down. You will have no problem. I also have the center channel speaker and added a subwoofer.

Q: QuestionI have two super cubes by Def Tech and the C-9060 center channel. Do I need front speakers with subs in them? I feel like I can save money and just get front speakers with pure mid range and tweeters vs spending this much when I have 3 subs already
Asked by OTownGuy.
- A:Answer Great system that you are building. Correct, floor standing speakers with built in subs will not be necessary if you already own 2 Super Cubes. Consider the DT D15 Passive floor standing speakers. Not exactly saving money, but the D15 speakers are absolutely amazing. Also consider the D11 Bookshelf speakers. This option will save money and sound terrific. Speaker stands sold separately.

Q: QuestionI would like to pair them with a sub to complete my system and TBH, I wouldn’t get its own supercube - torn between svs SB2000 pro or SB3000 - what should be my best course of action?
Asked by EGGIE.
- A:Answer Have you turned up built in subwoofers, there’s a good chance you don’t need a Svs. Unless yo want major base, on that note SB3000.

Q: QuestionAre these sold as a pair or an individual tower speaker?
Asked by Brett.
- A:Answer Individual

Q: QuestionCan I use these speakers on a lg home theater receiver that runs 3 ohm speakers? I figure that since these speakers are 8 ohms, it will work well with lg home theater in a box receiver. Please let me know if this would work.
Asked by Ty.
- A:Answer Yes. The speakers can be higher ohms, but you just cant do the opposite, hook up a 4 ohm speaker to a receiver that only handles 8ohms. It would fry your receiever. It much better to match your ohms, to get the best sound, but you wont have issues doing this set up
