Sounds great! I purchased an open box item which ended up having a broken stand and the subwoofer light does not work, but for the price its a great speaker.

I've been a big fan of Def Tech for about 15 years, and these 9040 towers definitely do not disappoint. Extremely detailed and accurate, they provide a rich and satisfying sound field. When paired with a Denon processor, Emotiva amps and decent cables, Def Tech speakers complete a terrific package. Love them!

This Tower speaker sounds amazing! Especially during movies in action scenes. I got two of them installed. One of them I noticed that the D symbol on the bottom of speaker wasn’t lit up while in use. So the geek agents ordered another that didn’t have that problem free of charge to replace the speaker that had that problem.

I had some old polk towers and did not realize what a difference these would make with my 9.2 . My center is a CS9080 def tech so it pairs perfectly. You get wgat you pay for so as long there is no defects which you can obviously return and replace

Built in subwoofer is nice. Sounds impressive. Very happy overall.

Purchased two of these towers and paired to the Yamaha - AVENTAGE 7.2-Ch. 4K Ultra HD A/V Home Theater Receiver. With the long term goal of building a 7.2, these pack every bit of the Movie theater experience I was looking for.

Great sound quality . I love the Bipolar speakers and the built in sub woofer.

Great build and design. Goes well with the modern look od my home. More importantly the spending an extra $200 for this model over the model below it was worth it for me. The sound is crisp, clear, and had more punch compared to the entry level model.

Am using these speakers as primary hifi stereo speakers, but also as home theater speakers. As hifi speakers, they produce a nice defined soundstage, with clear placement of the primary instruments. In the home theater, the active base provides sufficient power that no additional subwoofer is needed. Good balance at a reasonable price.

These towers sound awesome. Huge sound stage. Also look really nice which makes them wife friendly. I suggest getting the CS9060 with them. And if you want to add stand alone subs in a stereo pair you cannot beat a pair of REL T/9i subs. They blend in perfectly with these speakers.

Love the speakers. They have great sound both for theater and music. Like that I can add Atoms to the speaker later. The only thing I would change would be the speaker covers. I wish I could remove them to show off the unique speakers.

No need to go to the movie theatre anymore. Quality theatre sound and these speaker towers are lovely. Best Buy honored their price guarantee and we couldn't be happier.

I had Def Tech ProMonitor 80 for front speakers. After 12 years I was ready to step up and upgrade my stereo speakers. I love Def Tech and I decided a powered tower was the way to go instead of a full surround speaker system. They are perfect for me. Good bass for movies, tv, and music.

Great sound quality. Maybe a little too much bass but it could be my other components.

These speakers are awesome. These replaced a pair of studio speakers and I could not be more pleased. I bought this as open box so the value was outstanding and other than no box the speakers were perfect.

This is what I replaced my IL50 Infinity with that lightning took out. First day I wasn't sure, but I was just watching regular digital TV. Then I streamed 4k video and sound and watch a 4k DVD and wow. Thinking about changing other speakers now.

Have these as front spkrs in 7.1 set-up. Really nice. Have Def tech rear surrounds, center & super cube woofer. Just need Mid surround to finish. All this pumped by a Yamaha RX-A740 receiver. Cant turn this up past 50% in my apartment or the neighbors complain, lol
