Two bad units, but the third was golden
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.IDK if DefTech needs better quality control or what, but my first unit didn't work. Exchanged and the second unit was missing the fuse. Contacted deftech and they sent me a fuse. Still didn't work after installing. Since this sub is smaller than most comparably priced/quality subs, and I don't have much room for a sub, I decided to try one more time. Exchanged for another at BBY, and the third one worked. And boy does it work. This is an absolutely fantastic subwoofer. Everyone I've showed it to has commented on how clean the bass is while still making you FEEL the bass. Even at low volumes it adds quite a bit of depth to music and movies (paired with my Martin Logan Motion 35XTs - bookshelf speakers). Long story short, this thing is FANTASTIC. Good enough for me to still give it five stars after all the trouble I had. I will say though, DefTech needs to work on their QC, as the problems I had give me second thoughts about recommending their products or buying other DefTech stuff.

Definitive Technology Subwoofer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Definitive Technology Supercube III subwoofer is quite amazing! Despite the small footprint, it delivers. Without a doubt I recommend it. My system is now complete. This subwoofer enhanced the sound and greatly improved the listening experience.

Best Subwoofer for the money
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was extremely surprised at the sound from this subwoofer. Extremely compact but very powerful. I have several other subwoofers for my other surround sound systems and this one blows them away by a mile. The bass accuracy is right on. I highly recommend.

Surprising performance in a small package.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replace an old 12" home theater sub that was huge by comparison. Pared with the 9040's and 2-Way surround and it really filled in the bass throughout the room. Really made the 9040's shine even more. Really like the small unobtrusive size and footprint.

tiny cubed powerhouse!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For music I haven't come across a better sub. Its very powerful, tight and composed. It sounds far superior to large ported subs I have used in the past. Its tiny and the build quality is excellent. My only gripe is that it doesn't have a built in crossover. I'm using it in a 2.1 setup with a NAD d3020 integrated amp and Martin Logan speakers.

Perfect for a small home theater!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace a poke audio DSW 3000 which is a very powerful Sab and I ended up liking this one even better that one. My wife came running into the room as I was watching a movie and thought a helicopter was flying over the house because the floors were shaking. I would definitely recommend this one.

Definitive technology Super cube
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Impressive sound from a small package. Absolutely recommend pairing with Irish red audioquest woofer cable makes all the difference. I’m running two super cubes on my system and they’re more than enough

Excellent with other Def Tech Speakers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this subwoofer to finish off my Def Tech home theater system. I was a bit on the fence since the 9040 towers I have already have excellent imaging and bass, but I'm really happy I got this. With a small room, this super cube is all the extra bass that anyone would ever need, and the compliment it's made to an already excellent sounding system has been pretty dramatic. Movie tracks now sound really punchy, and music is even more natural and balanced. I'm glad I went with the Def Tech sub over others I looked at because the timbre of running an all Def Tech speaker system is consistent, and works together really well. Having said that, I suppose if I had had a different speaker system this sub would probably work equally as well, it's a wonderful sounding speaker. If you are in the market for a sub woofer, and particularly if you own Def Tech speakers like I did, give this one a listen. I think you'll like the difference!

Power in a small package
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome power and great sound quality for its size, I bought it refurbished and returned it because of a small noise when bass went really low, I think a new item won't has this problem. Recommended for small to mid sized rooms, best suited for music but work very well for movies too

Wow
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For such a small box this can really shake the room. Looks nice as well with the gloss finish. I Got lucky and found it on sale and if i find it around this price again I’ll add another. I do have 2 sub outputs on my receiver after all.

Shockingly good bass output from this small box
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m using this sub in a “worst case” scenario. Old receiver went belly up. I’m in the market for a new one. In the meantime, I purchased a Yamaha sound bar that had a sub output. Bought this sub for half price during the thanksgiving sale a few weeks ago. The sound is amazing even though I cannot adjust anything. No crossover or phase control. In spite of this the sound is excellent. I am looking forward to tuning this sub correctly when I get a new receiver. I think this sub will sound best crossed over at around 80 hz with My pinnacle lcr 3 channel speaker. The fact that this sub sounds good without tuning really shows the value of this little sub!

Excellent bass response for the size
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Paired this with the CS9040 and 4 DI 8R ceiling speakers. This unit matches great with those speakers. Excellent bass response and it doesn't take up a large amount of space. Plus, getting an open-box was an excellent deal.

Amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my favorite sub! Despite its size it thumps hard and sounds a lot smoother than other subs I've owned. Only down side is it doesn't feature a on or off switch. It's on a constant auto so on my receiver it only come on when the volume is turned past 10.

Sounds better than some larger subwoofers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very good subwoofer for it's size, but the output will seem under-powered if one tries to use it in larger rooms. If you need a small subwoofer, you probably won't find one that goes this low and sounds this smooth.

||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want that big boom when watching you favorite movies or shows this small foot print subwoofer will do it. Nice while it lasted… Dead within days
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice while it lasted… The output of this subwoofer is musical and loud not just woofy or Boomy. I got this for a customer who called me two days after I installed it and said he couldn’t hear or feel the sub anymore. I checked it out and the volume would drop to almost nonexistent and then get loud again after a few moments. Swapped cables and sources and could not get this thing to behave. I returned this to the store and I will be ordering a kef cube 8 instead. I would like to see a dedicated on/off rather than an auto sensing circuit since the Super cube 2000 would not turn on when the system was at low volumes for ambient music unless if I boosted the subwoofer output by 12 dB in the Yamaha receiver set up and then turned down the gain on the sub. For $650 I definitely expected more.
