Awesome Speakers: issues w/ LFE and Denon Receiver

Upgraded from older Denon BP7004 towers. Very noticeable difference. Good balance between base, mid, and treble. Great for movies, video games and music. 300 watt amp powered subwoofer for each of 2 mains are great! Interestingly, I tried adding an additional infinity subwoofer connected to my Denon AVR-X4000's one of 2 LFE outs w/ these speakers set to large, but it did not sound as good. I am not currently using the LFE outs to the speakers. When I did, the base did sound louder and over the top (whole basement shaking!), however, the receiver kept cutting out to protected mode. Spent many hours trouble shooting and contacting both Denon and Definitive without a real solution and finally settled with just using the speaker wires to connect to my receiver. Still am very happy with purchase but be cautious about using the LFE connectors.

Great sounding speaker. I did have an issue right out of the box. A slight muffled sound in the mids which sounded grainy at low volumes. I did return it and got another one. No problems at all now. I know that happens sometimes but that didn't stop me, these speakers are one of the best. Very happy with them.

This speaker is great with a warm mid range sound for listening to music plus it has good low bass for the action movies. I did buy the ST8020 which sounded decent but the bass was a bit boomy and it was missing the warm sound of the mids which is 3 1/2 mids to the 4 1/2 mids on ST8060, but what a difference.

Takes a little getting used to but well worth the money. It has a noticeable sound upgrade from the next two models down. Subwoofer is also plenty powerful enough too.

I replaced my Cerwin Vegas with these due to size limits. The towers are solid and sturdy. The sound is clear, powerful with great bass and crisp highs. Add the Dolby Atmos A-60 and these things rock.

They sound really good and Surround feels good with just these two speakers when watching a movie. They can be connected to the woofer out on ur reciever and it made a huge difference. I would suggest Investing in good connector cables.

These speakers were a great investment. I was a little concerned about spending the money, but after a week of having these, I can't see listening to any other speakers. These are great for movies and music.

Great speakers for movies and music. If you are on the fence go ahead and get them, you won't be disappointed. Running them off a Marantz 7009

Two of my reasons for considering this model were the narrow profile and the integrated subwoofer. While it might not satisfy people who want a ton of bass, the integrated subwoofer and passive radiators provide a good amount of bass for most of the home theater viewing I've done. The sound fills the large (500+ ft^2 with a 20+ foot ceiling) thanks to the bi-polar design. The 9000 series should be even better!

I mainly use mine to listen to music, and the music sounds amazing coming out of these. If you are only listening to music, you do not need to connect the sub wire to it. With my AV receiver, I couldn't tell a difference with it connected or not. The crossover inside the speaker picks up the bass from the incoming speaker line. There is plenty of bass in these speakers. The mids and highs also sound great. The bipolar feature is great. It makes everything more encompassing.

Sounds comes out soft and clear. Great for watching TV, Movies and playing video games. The highs are not tinny and the low does not distort. The subwoofer level is at 50% where anything over seems a bit overpowering (x4). I am aware that what drives the speakers plays an active role but with the different receivers that they have been connected up with, there were no issues.

Definitive technology in my opinion is a top of the line speaker that will rival any high-end speaker. These speakers are bi-polar, huge sound with built-in 300 watt self powered subwoofer. Great for movies or music. I would recommend definitive technology to anyone looking for a quality speaker system who is willing to spend the dollars, you will not be disappointed.

Updated home theatre from Polk Audio to these speakers. Mids and highs are clearer (even better after break-in). Subs rattled things in the living room which I didn't even know rattled. Best Buy sale price now is almost giving these away. (You can use the savings to get the center speaker to match)

These are replacing some Entergy speakers that I had and I can tell you that the volume that these produce can actually be sort of deafening. I have not changed my Yamaha amp and I'm running my power about the same volume and when I do that it's extremely loud and the bass is quite amazing as well.
