This laser printer does everything a home or small business user would need. I got everything working without reading a single document. Windows 10 recognized the printer instantly when I plugged it into my PC using the USB cable and the printer was able to print a PDF even before I installed any Dell specific drivers. I did go ahead and copy the latest drivers from the Dell website (inside a ZIP file) and then let Windows 10 browse to the drivers folder and install the Dell drivers. I was able to connect the printer to my home Wi-fi in only a few minutes using the WPS button on my router. It prints pretty quickly from sleep mode, and print quality was good when I printed some PDF tax forms and my scanned driver's license. Scanning worked very well the first time I tried it using the Dell Document Hub application and allowed me to crop and do basic enhancements to my scanned document (in color) and then save to a variety of formats including PDF and all the standard image formats. No paper jams yet. My only small complaint is that I wish the LCD screen was a little larger and clearer. But this isn't a big deal once you get the printer setup. Overall I'm happy with the printer for my basic needs.

After upgrading our computer system our 12 year old Dell printer no longer was compatible. This new printer was easy to install & set-up by myself. It does a great job printing, scanning & copying whatever we need.

Printer is low cost. A good value for the dollar. It was easy to set up and use with my router, laptop and iphones. Prints very clearly and have had no problems using it as scanner and copier. It has been in use for 30+ days without any issues.

I have used this in my office for 2 years and find it to be a decent BASIC machine. I print and scan daily and the print quality is not as good as the brother brand printers, but not bad. Be aware that the quality of scanned documents is poor. I have adjusted the settings over and over again and the quality is always noticeably fuzzy, sometimes even illegible. I have not used the fax function and I replace the toner about every 1-3 months whether I am using a high-yield cartridge or not, even with the "save-toner" setting on at all times. Setup was a bit of a pain and I occaisonally (3-4 times since purchasing) have to troubleshoot to reconnect after updating/restarting my device/network, but I have had more error-prone equipment before. I also find the settings menu confusing and cannot seem to locate the reset feature after replacing the toner. It would be a great second/home office printer, but if you require quality scanned documents like I do, I would look elsewhere.

this dell printer is solid and very convenient, I can scan, copy and print. The printing quality is very good and compatible to other more expensive printers. Also I find the toner from amazon only costs $15 which can yield more than 2000 pages. I stronly recommend this printer to friends and family members. The only cons is the size, it is a bit big.

I bought this to replace a color inkjet. I have used Dell laser printers in the workplace and they have been very reliable with toner going a long way. I have only owned for about a month so can't really say much other than the print quality is excellent, setup was a breeze and works great from wireless and wired devices.

I bought this printer because of the 'Laser' feature in it. My old ink-jet would dry pu between uses and cost a fortune for new ink cartridges. This printer has saved me a lot of money and prints fantastic every time I need it. No matter how long it sets between uses, it still delivers quality printing. This was one of the smartest purchases I have ever made.

Following the instructions it was easily up and running on usb(had to download drivers, no optical drive on my gaming laptop). But, once I moved the printer to it's home location and off usb. It was like it never existed. WiFi (printer)was no longer talking to my network. In the end, I made my router add an exception for the printer and gave it it's own port/ip(think thats what its called?). Took me a few minutes, but not as easy as it should have been, and likely too much for average buyer. If you keep it on usb and plugged in all the time...you'll be fine. Now to see how long starter toner lasts! Ugh.

Rating was biased because Best Buy offered the best deal (better than Amazon during Black Friday) upon purchase of this product. Wifi printing is troublesome at times but is solved with a little networking knowledge (best experience when connected WLAN to router). Don't be fooled by SLEEP MODE. Print jobs can still be sent and completed even though the printer seems off.

I was looking to replace my wife's laser printer because it could not be used unless her computer was on (not wireless capable) and was 6-7 years old. This looked like a great deal. Also needed Scanning/copying so this seemed to cover all of the bases. It would NOT connect to the Wi-Fi no matter what I tried. Have friends that have the same printer and they said that it was a 'bear' to get it on the network. Another reason for getting this was to be able to take it to conferences and connect through their WiFi ( we are conference managers, not idle users). If they are so hard to connect in a controlled home environment, then it would be fruitless to expect that they would easily connect to a foreign environment without taking a lot of our technical resources needed elsewhere. That is basically why I made the decision to return it. As a printer, scanner, and copier, it seemed to be a very acceptable machine, but if I can't easily reach it, then it is like having a Ferrari but no gas. I read a lot of reviews, on Best Buy and others, and this seems to be a common complaint. I have investigated a lot of other laser printers and this seems to be a common complaint with most of them. I assume that the laser printers ( at least the lower priced ones) have not undergone the technology updates that the ink jet lines have. I am going to wait a while before replacing the one that we have.

I do side work and needed a printer capable of duplex printing. I haven't used it for that yet, but was able to set it up by myself and I am NOT tech savvy, so it was pretty easy to follow. Due to just needing a small volume printer this I believe can handle much more than what I need it for, but the price was matched from another store. Not sure if this is a year end model or not, but I don't care, it was cost effective and what I needed.
